This song always makes me think about a specific morning while being on the Windward Side of O'ahu. I was renting out a small one bedroom property in Waimanalo a few years back while visiting there. Morning (at around 6:30) was a typical one, with gentle rains falling, zebra doves cooing, and the sun just about ready to rise. This song was playing on KINE Hawaiian 105. I always think to myself, when I hear this song, how perfect a morning that was and how lucky I was to have been in Hawai'i.
My friend Ira Kekaulua sang this. He wasn't supposed to be the lead sing, and his brother's teased him about his voice cause sound funny, but the songs that Ira sang ended up being the most popular. lol.
