  • BRILLIANT

  • the "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.." was so classic.

  • taht dumb 3rd person with the big eyes waht is up with her ?

  • Dorothy Loudon....amazing

  • Does anyone know if the 1977 original version of Annie was ever filmed or videotaped?

  • this is just too good

  • dorothy loudon had quite the pelvis.

  • You just can't beat the original artists of this musical! They had the chops for this show! Great job all of you!

  • Loudon's "yeah yeah yeah" is so classic!

  • "OLIVER WARBUCKS THE MILLIONAAAIIIRE?!!!"

    "....eugh..."

    i love that :D

  • lily is a cross dresser

  • based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and the book by Thomas Meehan, Dorothy Loudon and BobFitch

  • Wow i actually like this better than the film version!!!!! The choreaography and performance is perfect!!!!

  • who ever plays Lilly looks like a cross dresser

  • She is just incredible!

  • RIP Dorothy Loudon

  • i saw this cast and production on broadway- i still remember them doing 'easy street'-it brought the house down--its the only production ive seen on broadway since the 70s i consider 'legendary'- you could tell it was something special as you were watching it in the theater

  • This is the best version of this song! I am surprised it is not as viewed as other versiona

  • What year is this from?

  • 0 disilkes!!!!

  • No one has ever come close to matching Dorothy Loudon as the originial except for Kim Criswell a few years ago, but i think that was a studio lp anyway...

  • I was lucky enough to see this show on broadway in 1977 with all this cast. It was a superb show and got a standing ovation at the end as it so richly deserved. Dorothy Loudon stole the show. She was awesome. Of course Andrea was great too. The dog was perfect.

  • 2:31 - 2:36 owns my life. glorious.

  • THOSE HIPS. i love them so much. hahahaha.

  • The absolute best version ever.

    No comparison.

  • Dorothy Loudon was a born entertainer. She's all-ways on stage, milking the audience for applause, which she always deserved. Thanks for posting her Annie role, one of her best.

  • Dorothy Loudon is amazing in the role. Much better than Carol Burnett. In the movie they made miss hannigan a lush, which somehow ruined the performance

  • @ReviewCam

You can play a character different ways, and I think the trio in the movie (Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, and Bernadette Peters) did a great job.

  • UGH! they are so stellar. i just love Easy Street... such a great number. i could just watch this over and over and never get tired of the brilliance. :)

  • GAH! THIS IS AMAAZING!

  • Is Andrea McArdle going to play Miss Hannigan on Broadway in 2012??

BTW I love Dorothy Loudon's Miis Hannigan and the song Easy Street

  • Best.Cast.Hands.Down.

  • is this carol burnett? shes amazing !

  • @rentheaaddx3 No, Carol Burnett did the part in the 1982 movie. It's Dorothy Loudon, who did the part in the original Broadway production. I thought Kathy Bates also did a good job in the 1999 made-for-TV movie.

  • So excited for the revival. Especially cause Im gunna audition for it!! A show I loved growing up.. Just love it

  • Dorothy Loudon is so fierce in this role, and her voice is fabulous, so down and dirty, the way it should be.

  • what a talent! and she was so humble..God love her

  • Bob Fitch's portrayal of Rooster as a Bowery Stevadore is an interesting alternative to the traditional image. But I believe the wannabe gangster, charismatic con artist is more accurate. The choreography is interesting and basically better than in the 1982 movie, which is staged for another medium and does not work as well.

  • @RayPointer bob fitch's was the original. and it was the wannabe gangster, charasmatic con rtist that he did. the costume he wore for this performance was his disguise for annie's father.

  • @horerfandod3 This is interesting, yet odd considering that as Ralph Mudge he was posing as a "farmhand" from Canada. A farmhand would not be dressed as a sailor or longshoreman. The "disguise" occurs in the three scenes after the EASY STREET NUMBER. It is this scene that establishes the ROOSTER HANNIGAN character as the phoney "sharpie" with the ganster look according to the script. Still interesting. And I understand that Mr. Fitch is still doing it in his 70s. Way to go!

  • This is the ABSOLUTE Best version.

  • Easy Street has always been my favorite song in Annie, ever since I was little. It is just such a great memorable song. =)

  • Thanks so much for posting this much improved in quality clip. Bob Fitch is a good friend and a terrific person - in addition to his obvious talents!

  • I absolutely adore Ms. Hannigan's dancing!

  • God I just love Dorothy Loudon. She played this role sooooo well. Little know fact is that she really hated working with young kids, which made her role easier to play.

  • @kellyv70 Can you imagine what would she would have done if Andrea McArdle had won the Tony?! lol

(and yes, Dorothy Loudon is absolutely superb. I don't even like Annie, but Loudon won me over)
