I'm surprised there aren't more views for this yet. It is truly amazing. My college just passed a rule that said you cannot use Visa because the fee is too high and you will be charged 2.75% of tutition just to pay for the fee of any other credit card. This all after they upped the price. My mom just got laid off, but we are still too affulent to allow me any need-based scholarships. I'm worried, and I am barely feeling it.
50 grand, half up front. Hell, even if you fork over the taxes, you are still looking at 35K. Easy enough to pay one's way to any college. Heck, being a vet, I get tuition waived at many state colleges.
LOL. I'm not kidding. Wrong. Sick and tired of hearing these babies whine and complain they have to fork over a little money to get that dream job, always terrified of the prospect of actually having to WORK first FOR that money to begin with. The fastest way out of that bind is the military, doesn't even have to be active duty, there is the Guard and Reserves too. It isn't easy, but it is the quickest.
I know not everyone WANTS to join the military. However, it's more of what people NEED to do to get through life, and that is the problem. These kids NEED money, but don't WANT to work for it. So they complain. I only mentioned the service because that was the path I NEED to take in order to afford higher education. I never wanted to join, but dammit, it was a choice I had to make, and I never complained.
That sucks... that really does, because me and a thousand more college students are gonna suffer more before things get better. I just hope everything gets better soon.
