Lets be realistic here, the reason retards do this, is cause they like mustangs, and they do'nt want to recognize mustangs are better cars, then they go and say, oh yeah, its just a mustang, but had to put a cheaprolet engine, and feel that they didnt betrayed their beloved chevrolet, and say, i had to put an LSshit in here to make it go fast!! STOP lying to your selves
@sickness796, the distributor has to go in the front. Running coils is more efficient, but its carbureted and a distributor is easier to tune on the fly.
I had a good chevy vega once ; had a 302 ford , c4 ! ALL CHEVIES NEED REAL ENGINES BLUE OVAL POWER ! Think i might put my 2.3 t-bird turbo in a chevy instead of the ranger I have !
@crownv80 after having TWO 350's spit the rods out in less then a year, I'm putting a 351W / C6 in my '72 C10 pickup. Have to make that damn Chevy reliable somehow! Can't wait to piss off some Chevy fan boys. HAHA
waited for months to see this, followed ur forum post for the finally good job.I read about that nascar motor gm had to build at press release and l laughed cause every gm guy hates the fact the distribs on the front. and made me happy as clam,u shud tell em it a 5.3 tho not .5.7 .love it looks like a ford from five feet away.
The front mount distributor was originally designed for NASCAR use. NASCAR rules state that the motor has to be run off of a Distributor type ignition and not a coil on plug ignition like the LSX motors are originally designed for. I chose to run this setup because #1 it simplifies things and I can keep it basic and clean, #2 it does resemble a Ford setup and turns twice as many heads at the track

why are you trying to make the lsx look like a ford engine with the distributor in the front, the lsx coil per cylinder is better then a cap.

nighthawk175 1 year ago
This is stupid , mixing gm with ford. put a cobra 4v motor and that would be a very nice car. ls power belongs in fbodys/gtos/vetts not mustangs

would you mind sharing where you get that front dizzy set up? Thanks!

the Front mount Distributor cover is a GM part number 88958679 and the Distributor is one of several available to fit that application.

chevy motor plus mustang body = fast car
Fuckotherbiffjacobs 2 years ago
i think since its carbed the distributor is positioned at the front of the motor like an LT1 engine

#3 If I do choose to go fuel injected at a later time I can run all of the Factory Ford EFI components to make this motor run.

Why is their a distibutor in the front??
smallblockpower93 2 years ago
What.....since when did GM start putting the distributor in the front like FORD, LS1hmmmmm ????
jack15501 2 years ago
There is an aftermarket application to retrofit a distributor to an LSx motor. If you cannot tell that is an LS motor you are a moron.

All Ford's should have a real engine.
