Making games is not the point of Blender. It DOES have a game engine. However the Blender game engine is actually inferior to lots and lots of game engines ( I still support Blender, I'm just sayin' =P )

Blender is for 3d modelling and animating.

As you said blender might me inferior but its still powerful for a free integrated game engine. You can have a direct preview of your game directly without any export. It just required a lot of time and excellent skill to do a proper one.

Making games requires a huge amount of work too.

Reminds me of basic development clips I've seen on the Lugaru/Wolfire site. Hopefully I will learn enough Blender to get as far as you have. Congratulations.

pretty simple setup. But it looked to be your first or second try, so no worries. One thing I notices, you should pull the camera up a bit, making the 3d effect in the game a little more effective. Add some textures, it makes it look more life like (or cartoony)... depending on what your going for. Overall, it doesn't look too bad.
