my daughter stoped drinking formula at 7 months on her own all i did was give her as much solids as she would take and she drinks juice and water but just water is probly better but the doctor tested her to make sure she is ok and she is fine she is tall skinny but just right all around
OMG Charlie's hair! I love how red it is! :) I used my breast pump for nipple stimulation and it did get some contractions, but they didn't really stick around for more then a few hours. You could always try that. *crossing fingers* that he comes before Jan 1st ;)
@nannerskins I'm using the pump and its doing the same that it did for you. I get contractions but not anything to worry about ya know? And yes! His hair is soooo red. Lol. I think it comes up extra red in ppictures and stuff because it never seems to be so red in real life.
SPD check it out this is what is causing your pain (especially at night Gggrrrrrrr) Nothin you can really do about it but it's better to know these things, also helps you feel less crazy xxx
You look fan-freakin-tastic !!!!! I am so excited for you !! I cant believe how fast its gone .. You make me want to be preggo haha .. I love you sweeetie !
Try a breast pump instead of the hands more efficient anyway, as apparently you have to have heaps of stimulation for it to start working. Transition sucks! Have you tried other brand sippy cups? Using a real cup? (plastic). If you do wean, once they are completely in solids they only need enough calcium that's in 250mls of milk, so it's not that important if they ate eating yoghurt and cheese as getting calcium from other places. And a cup of milk in a whole day isn't hard to do. My son is a w
when I was pregnant with my daughter I got horrible stretch marks & I used to have my belly button pierced so when I was pregnant between the 2 piercing holes theres a huge stretch mark, above the top who there are 2 stretch marks going up, best way I can tell you how it looked when I was pregnant was like the playboy bunny. horrible
Hey, my friend tried a breast pump instead of creepy nipple tweaking with fingers, and it totally works. So try using your breast pump and see if that kickstarts labor!! Or.. I know this is personal and weird, but we learned this in my class.. ...... Masturbate.. No sex, no pain, and gets the job done. Oxytocin baby! Also, I love you. =] c'mon jack!
Lol poor thing your getting beat up. My lil guy is almost five months and he loves to grab and yank on my hair a lot lately so I feel your pain! Your midwife is just weird! I don't like it when healthcare ppl are in and out and don't take the time they should with you! I wish I could help with the bottle thing but I'm not there yet. Anyways I hope the primrose helps and you get to meet your lil guy soon ;.) !
I'm two days past my due date today and had my check up I'm 2cm and cervix is very soft too at 39 weeks I was only 1-1.5 so not much change!! I hope I have him soon and hopefully you don't go to past your due date it really does suck!! I'm just trying to be patient!!!! Good luck hope you have him soon!! They want to induce me on the 2nd if I don't go in labour... I really hope I don't have to!!!
When you find out let me know!! Seriously I'm lost on that too. We didn't have any issues with whole milk and stopped formula pretty fast. I do have to warm it slightly to take the cold edge off for her though. The sippy cup is also a challenge. I've done milk in a sippy and she will not drink it. Once she was hungry and still refused it. But as soon as I gave it in a bottle she chugged it all. Urgh. Let me know what works once you figure it out k? ;)
My daughter did the same thing. I now i only giver her 2 bottles a day. But she still wont take the milk from her cup. And i added more food for her to eat. My doc said it was fine for her to have a bottle tell 14 mths. Now she is 15.
@jengilbert3369 SO maybe he's just starting early with the refusal....OR...and Im asking everyone else this....do you think it could be just that hes irritated with new teeth coming in and thats why he won't take it right now? I thought about it for a while and hes got molars coming in so maybe the bottle is rubbing them wrong?
Have you looked up the think baby transition sippy cups? I've only heard good things about them. Maybe by simply adding handles to a bottle he'd be more apt to drink... idk. Noah took a bottle until 18 months. But only water. The sippy cup was for his milk. As far as getting labor going... seriously plan a big meal or something with friends... I swear. Jack will want to join in on the party lol.
@mandiii04 The think baby ones...we've had one in our cart on amazon for a long time. Lol. I completely forgot about it! We have tried two other types of sippys that have handles and Charlie could care less about em'. That one with the straw is the only one he will consistently drink out of. And good suggestion! I should make a huge plan that has lots of detail and he'll be sure to ruin it. That's how the universe works.
my son did sort of the same thing with refusing liquids/food around 18 months - i just kept offering every hour or so until he took it... don't know what to tell you other than *I* think it's normal and to just wait it out/keep trying.
you look fantastic and i'm crossing my fingers for you that little mister pops out in the next few days!!
@thebabymuse Ugh, I dont know what Ill do when Charlie refuses anything I try to give him. Thankfully, he's a good eater with solids and stuff. Its just the bottle that hes shunning. But after a nice nap and some thinking, Im wondering if it has to do with teething. He's got a few more teeth coming in....and theyre those big ones...so I wonder if the bottle nipple is just annoying him right now, ya know? But we'll just wait it out and see I guess! And thanks, I hope he comes soon too. :)
unfortunately I do not have any advice on the sippy cup issue. I had Cam drinking (small amounts) of water out of a sippy at 5.5 months old and she always liked it. She was off of bottles by one, and never had an issue with whole milk. I don't know how I got so lucky with her, because the problems you are having with Mr. Charlie seem to be pretty common! I'm sure it will work itself out somehow, someway. It has to be frustrating though! Good luck!!! Let us know if anything works for you!
@holdendmb Yeah...the only thing going UP my vagina are those evening primrose oil pills. Other than that....it's an "out" only....for Jack. Lol. With the bottle....Im wondering now, after thinking about it, if it has to do with teething? What do you think? He just had another bottom molar pop through and I noticed this morning he's got one of those gross gum hematomas starting on the top for another back tooth to come through. Maybe the bottle nipple is just irritating him right now?
@deathcabforjenny haha, you always crack me up! I love it. Yes that very well could be! Teething always threw everything off, sleeping, naps, eating, behavior- you name it! It made a different monster child! And then it would settle down and so would everything else. Just when you think you have your kid figured out they go and change everything on ya! And then all of the sudden they go back to "normal"... whatever that means! HA!
woah, all of the sudden you are so close to having this kid! How'd that happen?!?! I'm so excited for you! My bff and I also have the zig zag stretch mark on our piercing. I haven't had mine pierced for a very long time but still have the top hole sort of open. Oh I am so with you on the nipple stimulation and sex... who wants to do those things when their pregnant? NOT ME! I can't believe people want to have sex at all during pregnancy. It's such a hassle! haha!
I got the wierd stretchmark thing above where my belly button piercing was too! it almost looks like a random scar mark even though I know it's not lol! so far it looks worse now then when I was pregnant but im only 6weeks PP so hopefully it fades soon!!
Oh and I think the formula/milk strike is totally common, at this age it's not thaaat big of a deal from what I've heard. I wish I could give some advice to transitioning to the sippy cup, but I think Liam was just too easygoing with that.
@ObbsAndLala Thanks. We have ONE sippy cup that is a winner and its that green one with the straw...but seriously, it's like a "water only" cup and he won't touch it if theres anything else in it. I just realized that MAYBE it's a teeth issue. He just had another bottom molar pop through (which has been nice and bloody) and on the top this morning hes getting another gum hematoma (gross) so another one will be coming through. So maybe right now hes like, "F bottles mom...they hurt." Who knows!
@deathcabforjenny Oh so true, I didn't think about that one. Liam totally wanted nothing to do with bottles when he was mad teething. Does he drink out of a normal cup at all? At a year old L loved practicing out of like a shot glass or whatever.....with milk...wowwww did that sound like good parenting or what!
Just think, if he waits until after January 1st, you'll get the tax break this year AND next year! Oh, and I think I failed to mention that, in addition to my zig-zag, I had/have them like a bunch of sets of parentheses around my belly button, soooo, yeah :/
@ReillyAJ I (along with everyone else in the world it seems) think he looks more like my husband. However...there are little things he does that TOTALLY remind me of myself when I was a baby (From seeing pictures of when I was little). But yeah....out of the two of us, he looks more like Ryan. Maybe Jack will look like me!
@gillian927 I swear to you it's like it's getting redder and REDDER. Lol. I've come to terms with it. In person it doesn't seem as red but on the camera it's freaking ORANGE. Ah well....at least it's pretty and unique....right? lol.
