Its a Rainbow. Not a bad fish. Lakes & dams are ok .But nothing beats the rivers if your into it or able to.

@63gc As someone who fishes rivers and the sea, I can only say nothing beats the lakes - if you have any. Living here in Borneo there are no darn lakes... dammit.

Most ministry fisheries in Northern Ireland are stocked with rainbow & brown. From about a 1lb upto 2 1/2 lb with only the very odd fish in the doubles. Private Fisheries can cost too much these days.£12 or £15 for 1 fish & then you have to leave when they are caught. Expensive if you bring kids. They are tasteless too. Maybe the lakes there are far larger with bigger fish. Our rivers are good. We have some nice water all around N Ireland or S Ireland too.
