it doesn't have to be cutting-edge tech, it has to be made with care. this stuff looks a lot more pleasant to my eyes than many modern games, we may have lots of special effects, shaders, etc. but a lot of the shit today looks 'soulless' (i hate using that term, but that's how i feel). of course, RE5 looks very very nice, its because capcom makes sure that RE games always deliver visually.

You can't compare graphics from 2009 to 2002. These graphics were GREAT for 2002. They're look stiff and plastic to us now becuase we're used to games like RE5 and Final Fantasy. I'm sure the designers and makers try their goddamn best.

Its a special mode called 'one dangerous zombie', where Forest is extra fast and will keep chasing you. He is strapped all over with explosives and if you kill him he will explode, you die alone with him and the game will end.

cause its a crimson head. there is a file which explains that when you kill a zombie it looks dead but its actually not. if you leave the body of a zombie, later it gets back up as a crimson head. it also explains that to prevent zombie's from turning into crimson heads, you have to burn the zombies body or do away with its head

If you beat the game and choose the "Once Again..." option for the one dangerous zombie, then yes, Forest zombie will follow you and if you even shoot him or knife him, then you're dead.
