You can't call critique of Muslims "racist" as Muslims aren't a race.
And by shouting "Allahu Akhbar!" whilst he shot his victims, HE identified it as an Islamic atrocity.
Not all Muslims want to kill non-Muslims. Many Muslims are good and decent people. But there are a very obvious minority who are not willing to live peacefully with non-Muslims.
@MrSonicAdvance You're arguing semantics which is stupid and pointless. Furthermore, no one said "critiquing Muslims" is racist. You're arguing a strawman.
@EnigmaHood At 0:48 you said "...a lot of dumbasses, dumbass racists are going to be saying a lot of racist things about how Muslims are evil and how they're sand-niggers and how they're scum of the earth...". You are clearly making a connection between racism and abuse of Muslims. This connection is invalid unless you regard Muslims as a race.
The reason I raised the point is because Muslims frequently try to hide from criticism by describing criticism as "racist".
@MrSonicAdvance It's a semantic issue which is utterly pointless. Perhaps I could call them Islamophobes instead, but the point is the same, they are bigots. Constantly chirping in semantics is quite frankly, asinine. Futhermore, race is a social construct anyway so who gives a damn? Race doesn't exist in the first place. Discrimination is discrimination.
@EnigmaHood I'm disappointed you failed to criticise the murder and injury of those people, prefering focus on an anticipated backlash of offensive anti-Islamic comment and to speculate on the motives of the killer. Still, it's your dime, you can say what you want! :-)
I don't support discrimination against anyone: Be it colour, gender or sexual orientation. We are as we are.
@MrSonicAdvance Why should I care about them? People die all the time, why should I suddenly give a damn about these people? I have no idea what kind of people they are, maybe they are scumbags. Maybe they are awful human beings, it's entirely possible. Until I know what kind of people they were, I really have nothing to say about them, neither good nor bad.
I don't recommend that you cover your face when you talk to people. Eye contact is essential. Otherwise you will be considered as a poor public speaker.
My opinion. Keep doing what you're doing. But don't throw out the factor of this guy being a muslim. Also, this video went completely off track, you talked about your opinion on the war. This is about the status of a gunman who killed soldiers, who by the way, do not die for nothing. They die for you. Its not political. Have you ever served?
@EnigmaHood - I disagree with this analysis. The attacker / Terrorist, once again, did it all in the name of "Islam" and "Allah" and "Muhammud" - Islamic Terrorism is an issue. Muslims need to deal with it. Stop making excuses for th Koran, hadiths, and education in the middle east that preeches killing and hatred of non muslims
If they dont like what we are fighting for than why the HELL did they enlist? I mean seriously, you already know what we are fighting for. You dont fucking realize that the day before you get deployed. You dont sign up hoping they dont deploy you. And you sure as hell, do not shoot innocent civilians and soldiers to show it. HOW DARE HIM! What are the odds to he is middle eastern all the shit that is going on right now, Might be a little misleading to the U.S. To me it looks like a terrorist act
Major Hasan's military title, not to mention his medical position, would require very rigorous psychological testing and constant repetition of this testing.
These murders were painstakingly contrived and executed and by no means the actions of a mad man.
The KKK follow the book of Romans, a book of the bible used as instruction to Christians as to how NOT to act, hence, the KKK have no Christian affiliation.
And no, Islam is not a peaceful faith. Muslims are instructed to kill or enslave those who do not capitulate, through reversion, to Islam.
The shooting was done in a base just in time for the government justifies the war against innocent Muslims. This is all BS. Anyway, I have a feeling Malik may have been given psychotic drugs. This happened on base, which no one can't tell me is not controlled environment.
Also, many military men are serving multiple tours in Iraq - Afghanistan and return with emotional problems. The amounts of crime, suicide and domestic abuse has skyrocket among the military. The media will not report that.
You should be able to quit the military? Are you kidding me? So collect a big check and benefits from American tax payers until it's time to go to war and then quit? Sure if you return every penny and pay for the training received.
The military doesn't work that way. This man was a traitor to the United States of America. He took lived off the American freedoms and sent American tax dollars to terrorist nations. Then he destroyed innocent families that will cause generations of pain.
Any US Marine will tell you that the acronym for USMC = U Signed the Mother F'ing Contract. Hasan's Imam said that it is a sin to ally with Christians and Jews, and for a muslim to do this and fight other muslims will gain him entry to hell. Radical clerics pushing this isolationist attitude in a society that openly accepts people from anywhere plants seeds of distrust for anyone unlike themself. All racists need to do is research facts to overcome ignorance.
He lived out of judgment. His own belief system required him to die in his efforts and instead he will live to face the destruction he has caused. A long life of pain is more just than a quick death for this bottom dweller of a human being.
O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. (Quran 5:51)
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. Koran 9:29
So what are you saying here? That christians have not persecuted others in the name of the Faith? I have the telephone number to: The Native Americans, The Mayans, The Aboriginals of Australia, The Hindues of Colonial Britain, The Afro-Americans taken as slaves by not only America but many western Nations, The Tasmanians Aswell as the Jews. Who were severely persequited. Until the end of the 20th century. I suggest you call them up & cite Quran verses. Then explian why Christians are any better?
Well the western civilization has not Advanced beyond war. Now has it? We are currently fighting in Iraq & Afghanistan. However I fully agree the Islamic world could learn a lot from the west. My point was: You cannot take the actions one individual beliving a surtain religion & then go on to condemn all other members of that faith. It would be like blaming all Christians for the waco-texas massacre. You can only hold individuals accountable for individual acts
I agree with you, but you should choose a better example than Waco. They didn't attack anyone. Yes, they should some officers and that is tragic, but they didn't actively seek that confrontation. Would they have at some point? I have no idea.
There aren't a lot of Christian based violent acts any longer whereas Islamic defined acts of violence take place daily in the world in the form of suicide bombings, etc.
They didn't attack anyone? They killed countless children, and killed anyone else who wanted to leave but couldn't.
Oh there aren't? What about all the minorities that the Ku Klux Klan killed? They are devout christians. Not to mention all the violence that occurred in Northern Ireland. In any case "any longer" is a meaningless qualifier. Historical examples are completely valid, and you have the inquisition, crusades, and manifest destiny as examples.
AthiestRhypocrites quoted surrah's that explain. Those surrah's, or chapters, call for distrust and violence against Christians and Jews. Comparing this rampage to the acts of T. McVeigh or D. Koresh is a stretch. Koresh tried passing himself off as God, and McVeigh wanted to attack his government. This guy acted on his interpretation of the Koran. There's nowhere that the bible (or Torah) mentions to kill people who don't share your beliefs, or that you will be a martyr for doing so.
I don't believe that. You can interpret something as vague as the Torah or Bible to mean anything because it's all bullshit to begin with. The West Boro Baptist Church were able to interpret the bible as saying that homosexuals and jews are the scum of the Earth and that they should be annihilated. This is precisely why all religion is pure garbage. And yes, that includes Christianity and Judaism.
Yes. But you can find just as many misuses of Theology in the Christian tradition. For example: The American south used the tale of Noahs curse of his son & the old testament in general to defend slavery & racism. The mention in the Bible of Jerusalem led to the crusade as this was seen as ´ours´. Jews were persecuted all over Europe for killing Christ. Banished from among other nations: Spain, England & Portugal. Not to mention the burning of witches...
The Torah says for men to dress as men, and women as women, but I couldn't find where it says to kill homosexuals. That doesn't mean that an 18th century bible didn't, I honestly don't know, maybe they did. In the age of nuclear weapons, martyrdom has no place in this world. Thankfully the atrocities that happened in the 18th and 19th centuries here have little resemblance to how religion is viewed in America today. There will always be nutjobs in the world. Hopefully civility will prevail.
Indeed. Lets hope that civility, reason & debate will prevail over blind self-righteousness. & in all fairness given atheist movements: Like communism, Maoism, Nazism & in many other cases of radical Nationalism. It is just as easy for atheists to be blinded by the ´ Right´- As people of faith. Its all about questioning ones own aswell as others beliefs constantly & without mercy.
We do not know the entire truth. Without the entire truth no one can make any good decisions. This man was an M.D. - A Psychiatrist - and a U.S. Army Major. As Medical personel - he is automatically a non -combatant per the Geneva Convention. He would have a job in the rear away from the fighting. The real blame will go to his superiors who MIGHT have seen some warning signs - but did not acknowledge them because - in my experience (22 yr Vet) mental illness only exists for the weak. WOW!
Why is Mental illness only exist for the weak. The same as Cancer or Diabetes I guess. All three physical conditions we can experience. If I accepted this proposition Could we say that any physical condition exist for the weak then what would I label the common cold?
Nobody chooses to be Mentally Ill. I wish I had that choice but I would've never chosen a stroke either. Yes we don't know the truth but part is admitting we don't know and leaving are minds open to the truth without assumptions
I'd like to know have you seen this personally up close and personal??? This has alot to do with him being a muslim extremist. My father served this country faithfully. This guy signed up and took an oath to defend our constitution. No one wants to be deployed to war but that is the job of those who serve. This guy deliberately killed 13 people. There is no defense to that. They would not let him go simply because the military paid for his schooling. You don't get to pick when you serve.
And the ku klux klan are christian extermists. Are all christians who kill people, automatically become racist bigots? No one is making excuses for what he did, but you need to be educated on reality because you sorely lack experience in it.
Fort Hood Killings our an example of Operation Blue Beam that Hasan had change redicaly for non reason he was a test subject of this scientific experiment!!!
You are a liar and a coward. This shooting has EVERYTHING to do with Mohamedanism. The shooter shouted "Alahu Akbar" before he pulled the trigger. The Qur'an has several passages calling for killing unbelievers. If he were an Arab and atheist, you could make that claim that it had nothing to do with Mohamedanism. But in this case, you are simply too blind, cowardly or stupid (maybe a mix of the three).
And you are an idiot. Most religion is destructive, especially christianity. But to think that all Muslims are terrorists is just about as stupid as thinking that all catholic priests are pedophiles. In any case, personal attacks aren't a good way to get on my good side, so you are blocked, but I'm leaving your comment so everyone can laugh at how stupid you are.
I guess you can call me a dumb as Red Neck. Its not as simple as he didnt want to go. Thats an over simplification... a lot of soldiers dont want to go to war however they dont go on shooting spree they suck it up and complete the tour for there country. You dont protest by killing 13 people and wounding countless others. The under lying reason this man killed others is because is a muslim that as well is an over simplification but cant go into further detail here.
He didn't believe in fighting and killing his own people for a country that hates him. That would be the reason. Like you said, "because he is a muslim" is a bad over simplification. It has more to do with who he saw as his allies, and his enemies. If you grew up in India, and they discriminated against you for being American, then India went to war with America, and told you to kill Americans, how would you react?
One simple fact. If he didn't agree then don't sign up to be in the military. In your theory then it's ok he killed 13 soldiers and injured 40 more because we are the bad guys. He lived and the only satisfaction these families will get is that this man is convicted of treason and 1st degree murder 13 times and they get to watch this man get a lethal injection. That to me is too good for this man. He tortured these people and gave them little chance of escape. I thank god for Kimberly otherwise
this psychopath might have killed more. Do you think any soldier wants to fight in a war?? It's the job that they signed up to do. Hasan signed up and regardless of his feelings he has a job to do. Instead he took the cowards way out and shot up innocent soldiers who did nothing to this serial killer. His death will be painless. IMO they should shoot him dead the way he did to 13 innocent souls. This whole tragedy is a terrorist attack by a muslim extremist who hated America and the military
Apparently you didn't listen to a thing I said. Instead your are creating more division and exacerbating prejudice and stereotypes. A muslim who kills people is not automatically a terrorist. The fact that you think that proves you are a fool. He was a killer yes, but to call him a terrorist just because he's muslim makes as much sense as calling all Catholic priests pedophiles. You are ignorant, pure and simple.
Its funny how the government and propoganda has made you all seperate into little sections and fear your neighbors. Democrats, Republicans, In the center...these people do not give a shit about any of us. We are all just a dollar sign to them. No wonder the world doesn't progress, we live in a society where ignorance is a point of view, and we love to justify violence and hate towards others. well what I have to say is too long for youtube...
Saw the movie. When you 'wash out' of basic there are no legal ramifications. You just get kicked out like Jesse MacBeth. Any Military Legal questions you have, shoot them my way, I am a former Legal Specialist.
The movie is not representative of what the novel is about at all. The novel is about civic duty, morality, philosophy, politics, discipline, and more. The movie is about mindless action. Huge difference.
If this has nothing to do with Muslims why are some Muslims praising him as mujahid?
Major Hasan COULD have refused to go, many have, but he chose to kill the people at the base. There must have been some reason why this man targeted his fellow soldiers, some Muslims believe it was to strike a blow to the crusader forces, some "dumb-ass racists" believe the same.
Hmm, yes, but last time I checked, and forgive me if I'm wrong but a lawyer I am not, shooting 13 people dead is a pretty serious crime also. My point was that the man could have refused to go on the grounds of conscience or cowardice and face the punishment.
When you enlist, you are asked, 'Are you a Consciences Objector?' If you say no, then object while serving, you can be charged with Fraudulent Enlistment.
He didn't want to go because he did't want to kill his Muslim brothers, however he has the guts to kill his American brothers. The U.S. military should not allow musims period in the military, because their religion teaches them not to kill their own. Also, they can use the training & knowlege against the U.S. America is letting all these riff raffs into their country. That is so stupid. Don't they know that these people's descendents will inherit the same attitudes, behavior, & thoughts?
And christians have killed millions of people for their religion too you idiot. But yet, god doesn't exist, and jesus was a cult leader, but you don't seem to have a problem with that.
Atheism is not a group or an organization. It simply means you don't believe in god. If you are a christian you are an atheist when it comes to Zeus, Vishnu, Thor, and all the other gods out there. Pure atheism, just takes it one god further, so saying atheists have killed millions is about as meaningful as saying people who don't believe in Santa Claus have killed millions. It's you who doesn't have a point.
the media never asks that question: why not allow soldiers to resign. it is not a conscripted military any longer, those who do not have an opportunity for gainful employment are the suckers (ft. hood largest employer in texas, gee!!)
It's ok, let them label them or call us what they want. We're done trying to convince people that are living in the most advanced techo-wise country to think for themselves. We're done trying to convince anyone that not every Muslim believe the same thing, if they can't figure that on their own, then fine.
Life is a two way road, you hit someone with shit, it'll turn around and hit your in the face. If someone want to label me as a terrorist, sure go ahead, i have my own stack of labels too
yeah its been going on with christians too and before that jews, we all get it sooner or later. its the atheists that all of us have to worry about. soon it will be the god fearing vs. the godless.
If any other ethnicity other than Arab starts a shooting spree, they're considered crazed criminals.
If an Arab starts a shooting spree, they're considered terrorists.
Stupid shit like "Arab terrorist shoots up military base" would make top story in biased news such as Fox News, although everyone knows that Fox News isn't a reliable news source which Conservatives watch.
If you want to join the military. that's fine. Just don't go batshit insane and start a shooting spree...
Maybe the guy just snapped mentally. I would imagine that he would already have done several tours of duty in Iraq given his rank. Who knows what the guy saw out there? The military of all nations ought to consider the mental health implications for all of their troops before sending them on further tours of duty where they may be more of a hinderance than a help. Everybody has their breaking point, and perhaps he reached his.
This shooter was very voacl about his muslim faith. He inlisted because he wanted a free lunch pass. The majority of the military personnel do mind being in combat. DONT SIGN UP if you dont want to. I think everyone should be in the military if you want to reside in America. Israel does it once you turn 18yr old. Nobody fucks with Israel and wins...
It's funny how you state that people are ignorant for getting upset he was Muslim. Everyone needs to stop being so politically correct, he obvious killed all of those innocent Americans because he has hate towards them. All Muslim extremist regimes aim at hurting innocent Americans. And if America was not so democratic, a crazy Muslim like Nidal would not be apart of the Army. And none of these attacks by Muslims like 911 would not happen! It is not racism but REALITY!
guess what! its america! you may tell someone to shut the fuck up but its our right to say what ever the hell we want to! thats what our military continues to fight for... FREEDOM... atleast those who still believe in our country and dont use and abuse the military for schooling and benifits
The problem is that with all that conditioning going on in military you arent able to resign what youre being told. Youll start thinking if anyone of a higher rank than yourself tells you something, youll have to do it. Otherwise that bullshit wouldnt work. If theyd think by themselves for 1 second theyd see that its meaningless what theyre doing there....
He could have resigned his commissision, and he was yelling god is great (alah akbar) when he killed these people. If you join the military during wartime your going to go. So don't bitch about being against the war, you don't want to go, DON'T JOIN THEN DUMBASS. When your a soldier you don't have a choice, your A-political, you do your job, you do as your told, and if you survive, then you can cry about it when you get out.
LOL allow soldiers to quit... well hell im sure in ww2 a lot of guys would have quit and yes nazi germany would have won. If sign a piece of paper and raise your hand your responsible to your country and your fellow man... Your a typical muslim to being most muslims are afraid to show there face... yea go ahead and quit its alright we will just lose this war always another day ... your the one who needs to STFU
Haha, typical stupidity from an inbred hick. If you even bothered to read my profile you would see that I'm an atheist that originally comes from the island of Sri Lanka. Sri Lankans are primarily Buddhist, Islam is actually more prevalent in America than Sri Lanka. But you are uneducated, so I don't expect you to know where Sri Lanka is. Anyway, I could have blocked you for your racist comments, but I want people to laugh at how dumb you are.
It has everything to do with muslims and Islam everything. Your right when you say he is a bad american but you know he was a good muslim. Thats what muslims believe and do it happens here in Iraq where a IP will take his ak and shoot a few soldiers and it happened in afghan where a man killed 5 british soldiers.. this is not the first time remember the young private who frag his supervisors and yes he was islam... so you tell me is the army an experiment in social development...
The guy had other options then to "resign" a soldier does have the option to deny an assignment (one) without punishment... if he denys more than that then he could be discharged or other things. people need to understand that if the enlist they better be ready to do what their country asks whether or not they believe in why its happening.. if we let people get out because "they dont feel like doing what they signed on to do" we would have no military. he kille innocent people because he freaked
He didn't kill innocent people, he killed soldiers. Soldiers are there to protect innocent people, but trust me, no protector is ever innocent, by definition of the word. As for the resign issue, I agree with what Heinlein said. "a nation which was not able to find volunteers to fight for it did not deserve to endure."
Listen.. a soldier does have the right to "deny" an assignment. they have the right to deny one without punishment... sometimes they get kicked out for it.. he had options. there was other things he could have done. others are right... if we let them resign... we would have no military... people need to understand that if they enlist.. they better be ready to do what their country tells them to do! the guy did have other options other than to kill fellow service members who WANTED to be there.
Very true. We should not ignore the fact that he was muslim. Reports say he yelled "Allah is great" in Arabic before he began to shoot. Also the media and other YouTube videos are trying to spin the situation by saying he just didn't want to deploy. If that was the case then he should have gone AWOL or simply shot himself and not soldiers. I lived in fort hood for the entire 4 years I was enlisted and I know that the soldiers center and the theater are always packed with defenceless soldiers.
I agree. Heinlein once said something like if the people don't believe in fighting for their country then their country might as well go to hell or something along those lines. You can't force someone to fight if they don't want to fight. Who are they going to be more hostile towards? The enemy or their own government?
Look here you to fucking moron. No of course it doesn't have to do with the muslims. But don't defend this guy because he couldn't "resigin" or because he was going ot Iraq. Fuck him. If he can't handle how the military is gonna use its resources (soldier) Then he shouldn't have fuckin joined. This guy is a fuckin coward. I don't care if he was against going to Iraq shooting other American soldiers doesn't make sense. So shut your stupid fucking mouth. This guy sis wrong. Not the military.
You are an angry little boy. You are entitled to your opinion, but your insults towards me are uncalled for. You do it again, and your ass is blocked.
thats stupid your right one man shouldn't be the fall for all muslims he wasn't even a born muslim he was an american who pract the muslim religion i have met him before here on fort hood thurs was a scary day for us all and i do belive this is an act of not wanting to go to iraq... if you just let the soldiers resign belive me there would be no army dont sign up if your not strong enough to go thru that doesn't make scence to me they shouldn't have joined then
Hasan didnt want to be deployed. thats why he did it. yes he was muslim but that fact has nothing to do with it. he tried leaving the army after 911 even offered to pay back for his medical training. he did it because he is a scared, sad little man. i live in the fort hood area. i hope he burns in hell
HE WAS A LONE WOLF TERRORIST LIKE SO MANY OTHERS AS NAMED BY
Espinozaize AND I DO THINK HE WAS MOTIVATED BY HIS RELIGIOUS VIEWS. BUT THAT DONT MEAN THAT THATS THE VIEW OF ALL MUSLIMS THAT ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS AND OR PROUD MEMBERS OF THE U.S. ARMED FORCES.
What about Ted Kachinsky the UnaBobmer, Colombine, Waco-Texas & The Branch Davidians, Timothy McWeigh or indeed: Jo Sung wei. None of these were of Arab of African descent nor were they Muslims. Making this man a symbol of ethnic-muslim hate. Naturally leads to the question: What about these homegrown killers of civilians & officials. Does this mean white people or christians as such are evil? Its only the context of the war in Iraq that makes such symbolism possible
This guy was an American-born follower of 'The Religion of Peace'. This shooting has everything to do with him being a Muslim. It was not simply that he wanted out of the army. He was already on the FBI's radar for Islamist rants. The scary thing is he was born and bred in America. He said that American soldiers and Islamic suicide bombers were morally equivalent. Media reports say he was a religious Muslim. I guess being religious in 'The Religion of Peace' makes you do mass murder.
I'm sorry, but why resign from a military you took a oath for? If you want out, it should be a dishonorable discharge for renigging on your oath in the first place. That is what they should do if faced with a soldier coming forward and wanting out because he does not want to support his country in the first place. It is a slap in the face of your country. My prayers goes out to all the famlies and to his as well.
Instead, they monitored him on these sites making comments about suicide bombers and knowing his mind frame and done nothing. They waited for him to literally snap and wound and kill other soldiers. Why did our military allow him to stay in knowing he had mental issues? Why? Now innocent lives has been lost due to their ignorance. This could have been stopped. He should of got a dishonorable discharge for his comments on these sites he was on degrading our country and war tactics.
You join the military and take a oath to support your country. Whether he was Palestanain or not, he was born here and was a United States citizen. If he had any issues he should not have joined. After 9/11 it may have weighed on him and all the comments coming at him from every directions. If he had any issues, which they felt he did so and they supervised him, they should of let him resign. What a mistake on our military knowing he had issues, and to let him stay in.
again your making claims but your not connecting them to a unifying cause.
and many of your claims in and of themselves are unfounded
vaccines for one, of course theres viruses in vax's that how there made if they were not in there then it be a placebo
and the toxins in it are below the human threshold to deal with it. tuna has stronger toxins martial law lol you mean like the 1 bush was going to enact to keep from giving up the presidency
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are not wars - they are a nuisance.
The soldiers have PTSD because the high command serves them on a platter to the insurgents. WW1 was a war. The insurgents are painted by the media as scary warriors who are winning and strike everywhere so that there is justification for the army to remain in the Middle East indefinitely.
My parents (they didn't say this, I sort of assumed it from their faces) think he is a terrorist. The story just seemed interesting until they said his name, and then suddenly dropped their jaws! I don't understand it - they accept my black girlfriend, me being gay, and my paganism... but Hasan! Oh, no. =/ Same with my grandparents.
I also read an article on how more and more soldiers are becoming mentally unstable. Did you hear about/believe that?
This Muslim never saw any battle.....know what you're talking about before you speak. He was a Muslim who planned to attack our nation. He should be hanged.
You can't call critique of Muslims "racist" as Muslims aren't a race.
And by shouting "Allahu Akhbar!" whilst he shot his victims, HE identified it as an Islamic atrocity.

Major Hasan's military title, not to mention his medical position, would require very rigorous psychological testing and constant repetition of this testing.
These murders were painstakingly contrived and executed and by no means the actions of a mad man.

Islam is a very peaceful faith, but it is the few idiots that ruin everything.
Christianity has them too, they are called the KKK.

The media will not report that.
solomonred1 2 years ago

Espinozaize 2 years ago
All people are guilty of war at some point in their history. Some civilizations have advanced beyond that and some are still living in ignorance.
yourmoment 2 years ago
Well the western civilization has not Advanced beyond war. Now has it? We are currently fighting in Iraq & Afghanistan. However I fully agree the Islamic world could learn a lot from the west. My point was: You cannot take the actions one individual beliving a surtain religion & then go on to condemn all other members of that faith. It would be like blaming all Christians for the waco-texas massacre. You can only hold individuals accountable for individual acts
Espinozaize 2 years ago
I agree with you, but you should choose a better example than Waco. They didn't attack anyone. Yes, they should some officers and that is tragic, but they didn't actively seek that confrontation. Would they have at some point? I have no idea.
There aren't a lot of Christian based violent acts any longer whereas Islamic defined acts of violence take place daily in the world in the form of suicide bombings, etc.
yourmoment 2 years ago
They didn't attack anyone? They killed countless children, and killed anyone else who wanted to leave but couldn't.
Oh there aren't? What about all the minorities that the Ku Klux Klan killed? They are devout christians. Not to mention all the violence that occurred in Northern Ireland. In any case "any longer" is a meaningless qualifier. Historical examples are completely valid, and you have the inquisition, crusades, and manifest destiny as examples.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
AthiestRhypocrites quoted surrah's that explain. Those surrah's, or chapters, call for distrust and violence against Christians and Jews. Comparing this rampage to the acts of T. McVeigh or D. Koresh is a stretch. Koresh tried passing himself off as God, and McVeigh wanted to attack his government. This guy acted on his interpretation of the Koran. There's nowhere that the bible (or Torah) mentions to kill people who don't share your beliefs, or that you will be a martyr for doing so.
GugglyGiggles 2 years ago
I don't believe that. You can interpret something as vague as the Torah or Bible to mean anything because it's all bullshit to begin with. The West Boro Baptist Church were able to interpret the bible as saying that homosexuals and jews are the scum of the Earth and that they should be annihilated. This is precisely why all religion is pure garbage. And yes, that includes Christianity and Judaism.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
Espinozaize 2 years ago
The Torah says for men to dress as men, and women as women, but I couldn't find where it says to kill homosexuals. That doesn't mean that an 18th century bible didn't, I honestly don't know, maybe they did. In the age of nuclear weapons, martyrdom has no place in this world. Thankfully the atrocities that happened in the 18th and 19th centuries here have little resemblance to how religion is viewed in America today. There will always be nutjobs in the world. Hopefully civility will prevail.
GugglyGiggles 2 years ago
Best regards

We do not know the entire truth. Without the entire truth no one can make any good decisions. This man was an M.D. - A Psychiatrist - and a U.S. Army Major. As Medical personel - he is automatically a non -combatant per the Geneva Convention. He would have a job in the rear away from the fighting. The real blame will go to his superiors who MIGHT have seen some warning signs - but did not acknowledge them because - in my experience (22 yr Vet) mental illness only exists for the weak. WOW!
gscotm55 2 years ago

But in this case, you are simply too blind, cowardly or stupid (maybe a mix of the three).
capone70 2 years ago
And you are an idiot. Most religion is destructive, especially christianity. But to think that all Muslims are terrorists is just about as stupid as thinking that all catholic priests are pedophiles. In any case, personal attacks aren't a good way to get on my good side, so you are blocked, but I'm leaving your comment so everyone can laugh at how stupid you are.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
I guess you can call me a dumb as Red Neck. Its not as simple as he didnt want to go. Thats an over simplification... a lot of soldiers dont want to go to war however they dont go on shooting spree they suck it up and complete the tour for there country. You dont protest by killing 13 people and wounding countless others. The under lying reason this man killed others is because is a muslim that as well is an over simplification but cant go into further detail here.
greenbeenie60 2 years ago
He didn't believe in fighting and killing his own people for a country that hates him. That would be the reason. Like you said, "because he is a muslim" is a bad over simplification. It has more to do with who he saw as his allies, and his enemies. If you grew up in India, and they discriminated against you for being American, then India went to war with America, and told you to kill Americans, how would you react?
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
One simple fact. If he didn't agree then don't sign up to be in the military. In your theory then it's ok he killed 13 soldiers and injured 40 more because we are the bad guys. He lived and the only satisfaction these families will get is that this man is convicted of treason and 1st degree murder 13 times and they get to watch this man get a lethal injection. That to me is too good for this man. He tortured these people and gave them little chance of escape. I thank god for Kimberly otherwise
zabac96 2 years ago
this psychopath might have killed more. This whole tragedy is a terrorist attack by a muslim extremist who hated America and the military
zabac96 2 years ago
Apparently you didn't listen to a thing I said. Instead your are creating more division and exacerbating prejudice and stereotypes. A muslim who kills people is not automatically a terrorist. The fact that you think that proves you are a fool. He was a killer yes, but to call him a terrorist just because he's muslim makes as much sense as calling all Catholic priests pedophiles. You are ignorant, pure and simple.

Nothing to do with Muslims...??
It has everything to do with being a Muslim.....

Megiddon 2 years ago
No you can not refuse to go, not with out committing a federal offense
TheKaijuSciFiGuy 2 years ago
Hmm, yes, but last time I checked, and forgive me if I'm wrong but a lawyer I am not, shooting 13 people dead is a pretty serious crime also. My point was that the man could have refused to go on the grounds of conscience or cowardice and face the punishment.

Atheism is not a group or an organization. It simply means you don't believe in god. If you are a christian you are an atheist when it comes to Zeus, Vishnu, Thor, and all the other gods out there. Very true. We should not ignore the fact that he was muslim. Reports say he yelled "Allah is great" in Arabic before he began to shoot.

XXXphukitXXX 2 years ago

Absolutely I believe it. Post traumatic stress disorder is very common due to the Iraq War.

This Muslim never saw any battle.....know what you're talking about before you speak. He was a Muslim who planned to attack our nation. He should be hanged.
