  • OMG I PLAYED THIS LAST YEAR!!! I like this solo very much personally. but i played it faster. i wasnt sure on whether playing the fast version or the slow version and i ended up choosing the faster one. it was fun. great job on this performance.!!!

  • I actualy played it a little faster as well!lol In the audition room anyway. My accompanist, Mrs.Olsen decided to slow it down for the performance. And thank you very much! Hopefully I will have mine from this year's contest up!

  • For heaven sakes I was fat! And i sounded exactly like my brother. The beginning sounded like I was trying to kill myself at the same time I was playing and the clarinet was a cheap plastic sams club clarinet.... Man I had issues in those days. I played it so slow!!!!

  • You weren't fat Adam! Look at me back then and now and then see who's fat!lol I weigh 224lbs.!You had better tone than I did!

  • thats funny this is the best solo my director could give me too :/ it kinda sucks that there arent many choices for tenor sax specifically and the list of songs for solo and ensemble is pretty lame but i still think you did pretty well :)

  • I know what you mean hahaha. And I'm glad that someone views how hard it is for tenors to get music just as I do! And thank you very much! I really appreciate that =].

  • I have to play this piece on my sax for a solo contest in february. I'm gonna upload it soon. I don't like g minor though... -_- But you played really really well.

  • Thank you very much. I usually don't like playing in G minor as well,Sadly, this was the best solo my director could give me....^^; but I am very glad that you liked it!=D

  • adams got an amazing tone ;D

  • Hahaha I'll tell him you said that.=] He'll appreciate it!

  • well i'm glad you will. every musician deserves compliments ;D

  • my friend wants to play this piece for clarinet this year your opinion was it hard or easy to learn

  • It was really simple to learn in my opinion. The only thing that was kind of difficult was the random tempo changes and the Crescendo and Decrescendos that you have to look out for, and of course all of the little accents and other things like that. I would highly recommend it though. It's a really fun and nice piece to play.=]

  • thanks for the reply :D

i loved it so my friend wanted me to choose a solo for her ;D

  • You're Welcome! I wish I sounded like how I did in the audition room because I had perfect tone, because my sax had messed up that night.^^; I hope your friend likes it! You should let me know how she does!=D

  • Ok I really liked your solo by the way.

  • Thanks Adam. I liked yours a lot too.

  • Lol ty and its Scherzo in C minor :) (this is Adam)

  • Hahahaha sorry Adam. I thought you said G minor.lol And you're welcome. lol I'll see if I can change it.

  • Hey MAtt! Im at Alex's, and did you know that your Sax matches your watch, your hair matches your outfit, and your glasses match your face! hahaha Ill tell you why we came up with this at school...

  • Hahaha that's funny! I never did notice that! And ok I'll be waiting to hear why you came up with it!

  • Piece in G minor is what I am auditioning with in about a week and a half...but it is on oboe...I figured out about a week ago I had been playing the wrong solo...and I am auditioning with Scherzo in c(not g) minor next year on my clarinet...(I am trying out on 3 instruments this year...)

  • Fancy. Let me know how you do. I would really enjoy hearing that.

  • Well...I bombed the audition, though do to know lack of knowledge of the piece, a few oboe malfunctions and a very nervous player didn't help much. But....I made it in on clarinet and alto clarinet so I, of course plan on aceing oboe auditions next year.:D

  • Well that's good that you are going to keep trying. And thank you for telling me how you did! I really appreciate that. It's also good that you made it on clarinet and alto clarinet, so that shows a lot of your skills.

  • I forgot about your long hair. lol I have this song memorized... I dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing... ^^

  • Really? Hahah and I don't think that's a bad thing lol.

  • This is really good, only the piano is really overpowering. I'm auditioning with this in about a week.... wish me luck!

  • I thought I replied to this comment.Sorry ^^; how did you do though? Knowing that you wrote this a month ago.

  • I did really well, I got fourth chair out of like... 19 (this was for four seperate bands plus jazz bands), so yeah, pretty good. Thanks!

  • That's cool. You're welcome,I'm glad you did so well! I wish I sounded like I did in the tryout rooms. It sounded 100 times nicer.lol

  • Dayuuuum pudding! You are good at this!! All serious and stuff. haha loved your voice

  • Hahaha thanks very much! You should of heard the solo i had last year! It was a lot faster and more complicated. But less phrasing. And I get that a lot about my voice. Thanks!

  • Oh and another thing, My reed was dry and old so it didn't sound as good as I usually do. It was a little airy.hahaha

  • I play the oboe and I have to play this song at NYSSMA sometime in May. You play the song a lot better than I can. I make a lot more mistakes, and I'm not very good with the trill. Any advice you could give me?

  • I would be glad to give you some advice. Do you need help with all of your trills or just a specific one?

  • I need help with both trills in the song. But I'm sure since you play the sax, the notes are different on our sheet music.

  • Well what troubles are you having? Is it moving your fingers fast enough, switching notes, counting?Any of those? And sorry it it seems like I'm asking a lot of questions.^^; This is how I usually help people.

  • I can't seem to move my fingers fast enough on the trills, so the trills sound unsteady.

  • Well what I did when I had that trouble, I would play the VERY slow. And each time I would mess up, i would stop and go back and keep playing it until I got it perfect. And once you have it perfect speed up by about 2 notches and repeat the proceess over and over again.I hope this helps you because it really helped me.DId you have any other problems with the music?

  • I didn't have any other problems. My trills are getting better. Thanks so much for the advice! =]

  • You're Welcome! I'm so very glad that I could help you. If you need anything else, just let me know.=]

  • i played this song at solo ensomble then i braces before solo ensomble then i just got a two it is hard playing with braces ,

  • Yeah I heard that it is. There is this girl in my section that plays the alto sax and she has braces. She says the exact same thing.

  • Awesome.

  • Thank you. This was really fun to play.Especially infront of a crowd who loved it!! But thanks for the comment!

  • Anytime.
