If you have never owned a RX7 or don't know much about rotary engines then i would strongly suggest you get someone with experience on these engines to check it out for you. Also if the car has high mileage then make sure if the owner has had its engine rebuilt.Depending on how you maintain and drive the car a rotary engine could last you anywhere from 5,000 miles to 100,000 miles and the rebuilds on these engines don't come cheap.I paid $5300 for a basic rebuilt at Rotary Power USA
uhhh yeah its called a rotary engine. there are a couple of triangle metal stars that spin inside the motor thus the name rotary engine. it only displaces like 1.3L
i know the first time i heard of a rotary i was thinking...HOW IN THE FUCK?? SPINNING??
ive owned a 85 G rx7(plane jane modle crashed it dont ask how), now i own a 1973 mazda rx2 soon a renesis will be inside he bay, and my current car a 1985 Rx-7 GSL-SE :D:D which i just blew the coolant seals...again, back for another 400$ seal kit, and some avation fuel again XD <3 rotors 4 life & it doesnt mean i h8 pistons 2! rather be in a ticking time bomb revvin like a 2 stroker smoker outta hell!
More specifically its called a "wankel rotary engine" (the guy who designed the engine's name is Felix Wankel) because a rotary engine its to broad which include jets and whats not. I personally love these engine styles, they have their advantages and disadvantages. Its utilizes its rotary motion rather than converting reciprocating motion to rotary motion found in piston engines.
My RX7's JDM 1993 Engine sound different from the usual 13B Rotary?!
please check my video: watch?v=sDr09W1ucDU
sounds similar to the 20B!
Are there different types of 13Bs? is this sound normal for the engine?
btw, i have a problem with my Air Pump!
Reply please (^_^) Thanks

Look up "Rotory Engine" on wikipedia, or youtube for that matter, both will have clips of a cutaway engine. Fantastic stuff.
