I honestly disagree with the smart parts thing. I have a smart parts ion, i play on a team im not the only one with it. i believe its a very respectful gun, although they dont have all the bells and whistles at first is true, but it also makes you learn more and more about your gun to get upgrades and looking into it and learning how everything works with it. But i do respect, and see where you're coming from with that.
im 17 and ive paid for everything i have for my paintball fun...
i help out at a local farmers market for a couple hours and get paid 100$ for one day of a little work, the next day i help a buddy mow lawns on base and we either come up with a 200$ or a lil less than 100...
plus all my neighbors know im pretty buff so i get calls all the time to help them move houses and stuff haha
I do have to pay for my own paintball gear, so I work for my dad in rennovating the house for $5.00 an hour. It's a pretty decent pay so I find it hard to get the money, but I find that it's well worth the work once I get out there on the field. Hope this helped:)
Also go on pbnation and look at used guns. I have friends that have never bought a new gun and they're on their like 15th guns because they buy guns keep them for a few months then resell them for a slightly higher price and make a little money to pay for paint. Just make sure the gun you're buying is from someone with a good rep on pbnation.com

i was excited because it was my first gun. (now i realized i have to completely rebuild it because the parts on it are bad quality). but that didnt stop me from playing. I played everytime i had the chance to. From 12-14 i was mowing lawns with my dads lawn mower. i made $20 a lawn (really cheap). then from 15-16 i was a bagger at stop&shop grocery store. pay was alright (9 an hour). but i quit that and went into the auto-body garage. now im making about $18 an hour. you see its just steps...

@chocochippa honestly they are both somewhat bad entry level markers the g4 is a little bit better but a proto rail you can pick up for 250.00 on Ans gear and it shoots much smoother and dosent break as easily. IF you dont want to get a fricken speedball gun get a tipman 98 c they will never break even if a semi runs over them
most fields are pretty cool with younger players trying to get into the sport. the one i worked at let kids do work afterwards to pay off their admission for the day.

A great stater gun is a Azodin Blitz. It requires almost no matnence and is great for competitive turnoments. I recomend it. It is only about $150 to $250.
@DampTwinki3 maybe its just me but i had started laning one game, the gun kept shooting after i took my finger off the trigger, then the bolt went flying off the gun and landed 3 feet behind me. since then it hasn't worked. i would go with a used gun on craigslist or ebay. got an 09pmr for 150 and shoots pretty well

@mrpaintballer926 i am in the same situation. My spyder electra broke on me and my budget was $200. I did my research, and i purchased an Azodin Blitz. Ive gone with it once and it is VERY GOOD. I didnt have one problem with it, I am going for a second time in a couple of weeks, so i can tell you after that if it has any problems.

When i was 10 and paintball was kinda popular and i was getting into it my grandpa gave me 500 dollars to start me out then i took my ps2 with about 125 games and sold them all on ebay for about 600 bucks then i had abouy 1100 plus about 500 bucks in allowence that i had saved up over the course of the year (10 bucks a week) so then i was at abouy 1700 and i turned around and bought the 2005 ego because thats what i saw in pb2x and all those prehistoric pb mags. my biggest problem when i was playing at 14 was the cost of paint. i say buy yourself a solid gun in the $200-300 price range, a good tank, great fitting mask, and if your parents are iffy on the price of paint, go with a pocket hopper. i used it during my ion days and built skill and saved money doing it. had just as much fun with the pocket hopper as i did with my vlocity
Like that guy said below. Lots of paintball fields will let you clean or pick up fields in exchange for an entire or a case of paint. Just ask a ref. Or a manager about it. Trust me it works.
Upgfrades I did to my G4, Ninja 68/4500 Tank, Dye Rotor Hopper, TechT L7 Bolt (Make sure you re-Chrono itll increase your FPS big time!), Tech-T I-Fit "Sleeve" Kit & I got a Stiffy Carbon Fiber Barrel, whole gun is Super Light ! Also ONE NOTE: if you Use Halo Hopper, Put Tape around neck, the DP has Teeth in its Clamp neck and if to Tight will Crack or Break the Halo Feeed Neck !
I love my Dangerous Power G4, Only Upgrades I would say is a Good Tank, 48/4500 Fiber tank and a Halo or even Better Dye Rotor Hopper ... that said, things I would say to get for the G4, the Macro Line fittings gave me a little problem so I got Ninja Fittings super cheap and easy fix, also the ASA has a Little 100 size O-ring, that can Blow when close it on full tank, I just use it to release air Pressure and screw in tank when its already closed so no Pressure on ring.

@jjcamacho1250 from what ive heard it is one of the shittiest guns made (i could be wrong) personally recommend any tippmann above that for woodsball. i dont know about speedball because i use a 98C and get my ass kicked most of the time
@jjcamacho1250 something i just though of is that you probably want something that doesnt require much maintenance. tippmann is next to indestructible (and can be upgraded later), from what ive heard Azodin are pretty good (same price range as the tippmanns), and for a little more money you could go: Dangerous Power, Empire, GOG, or maybe Proto
what helps you when you have a paintball field that you play on ask them if you can referee and some times they will let you play for cheaper and also you get paid for working for them.
mike, I'm saving up to buy a paintball gun but my parents are trying to make it very hard for me to save up my money because I already play 2 competitive sports but I still find it real fun. But they think it will be a waste of my money.

kids at my (field use the field as there "baby sitter". Parents pay for a big a paint, costs 25 dollars (with membership) and kids are in good hands the whole day and having a great time. (I would suggest a pump gun)
a great way i make money fro paintball is working for my local paintball dealer. i ref and get great money every week end. i love it. or another way is to have a few yard sales or like techpb said walk dogs or do yard work. those both work i did both and got a great amount of cash for play time.
I am 15 years old and I am looking to get into paintball. This summer I got a job working at a resturaunt out by my lake. Just this summer I have already made $900 and expecting to make close to $1400 by the end of the summer :) but because I am very active during the winter I don't have time to get a job so I have to try and stretch my money. Until you can get a real job- mow lawns in nice seasons, shovel snow in cold seasons, and walk dogs in between. Babysitting works too. Watch as your cash magically starts to rise.
Get a dp e1 get a carbon fiber tank 68-45cc high pressure. If you live near a store ask about a good hoper !!!YOU DONT NEED MORE THAN 20 BPS!!! My first was a spider fasta and i am still using it. Now all you need is paint compare your store's field's and online prices before buying a box. The reason i said e1 is that is a cheap but very good stock gun. As you get better you can upgrade the e1 like a new board for tournaments, you can get a new barrel, techt bolt, clamping feed neck, new eyes.
all players who are in the 12-14 year range: sell ur old stuff on ebay. I make almost all my money on selling my old stuff. also condiser craigslist too. im gonna sell my tippmanns on there next =D

im 13 now and when im fourteen i can take a reffing course four hockey socker lcrosse. im choosing hockey and after i do the course i can reff tyke hockey every game i can get eachgame you make $30. i got other stuff to do in the week so if i do 3 games on saturday thats $90 in one day. what if i do 6 games a week 180$ every week not bad,.

my biggest problem when i was playing at 14 was the cost of paint. i say buy yourself a solid gun in the $200-300 price range, a good tank, great fitting mask, and if your parents are iffy on the price of paint, go with a pocket hopper. i used it during my ion days and built skill and saved money doing it. had just as much fun with the pocket hopper as i did with my vlocity

Like that guy said below. Lots of paintball fields will let you clean or pick up fields in exchange for an entire or a case of paint. Just ask a ref. Or a manager about it. Trust me it works.

Upgfrades I did to my G4, Ninja 68/4500 Tank, Dye Rotor Hopper, TechT L7 Bolt (Make sure you re-Chrono itll increase your FPS big time!), Tech-T I-Fit "Sleeve" Kit & I got a Stiffy Carbon Fiber Barrel, whole gun is Super Light ! Also ONE NOTE: if you Use Halo Hopper, Put Tape around neck, the DP has Teeth in its Clamp neck and if to Tight will Crack or Break the Halo Feeed Neck !

I love my Dangerous Power G4, Only Upgrades I would say is a Good Tank, 48/4500 Fiber tank and a Halo or even Better Dye Rotor Hopper ... that said, things I would say to get for the G4, the Macro Line fittings gave me a little problem so I got Ninja Fittings super cheap and easy fix, also the ASA has a Little 100 size O-ring, that can Blow when close it on full tank, I just use it to release air Pressure and screw in tank when its already closed so no Pressure on ring.

@jjcamacho1250 from what ive heard it is one of the shittiest guns made (i could be wrong) personally recommend any tippmann above that for woodsball. i dont know about speedball because i use a 98C and get my ass kicked most of the time

@jjcamacho1250 something i just though of is that you probably want something that doesnt require much maintenance. tippmann is next to indestructible (and can be upgraded later), from what ive heard Azodin are pretty good (same price range as the tippmanns), and for a little more money you could go: Dangerous Power, Empire, GOG, or maybe Proto

kids at my (field use the field as there "baby sitter". Parents pay for a big a paint, costs 25 dollars (with membership) and kids are in good hands the whole day and having a great time. (I would suggest a pump gun)

a great way i make money fro paintball is working for my local paintball dealer. i ref and get great money every week end. i love it. or another way is to have a few yard sales or like techpb said walk dogs or do yard work. those both work i did both and got a great amount of cash for play time.

I am 15 years old and I am looking to get into paintball. This summer I got a job working at a resturaunt out by my lake. Just this summer I have already made $900 and expecting to make close to $1400 by the end of the summer :) but because I am very active during the winter I don't have time to get a job so I have to try and stretch my money. Get a dp e1 get a carbon fiber tank 68-45cc high pressure. If you live near a store ask about a good hoper !!!YOU DONT NEED MORE THAN 20 BPS!!! My first was a spider fasta and i am still using it. Now all you need is paint compare your store's field's and online prices before buying a box. The reason i said e1 is that is a cheap but very good stock gun. As you get better you can upgrade the e1 like a new board for tournaments, you can get a new barrel, techt bolt, clamping feed neck, new eyes.

Im 13 (almost 14). My parents have no problem with me playing. The money the only problem and I do lots of chores and everything. But my parents say we'll think about it, and as everyone knows wat that means. I have a paintball go I got in like 2005. Its a JT. Thats all I know.
