1:09 I LOVE that heavy hitting guitar. I've got the self titled/Aske combination album, but this version as just as awesome! Still Burzum, still Varg, still great metal.
Pro tools should be abolished it destroys emotion, feeling,& authenticity in a band that's why the older musicians are going back to analog like the poser but still bad ass drummer & foo fighter dave grohl
@badmoppity i dont think he wants to make a tour from what i have hear on his "Reall interviews" but he might i dont know time lies when people changes its mind.
@nykretus you missed my point. He's a convicted murderer, most countries wouldn't grant him a visa. whether or not he changes his mind is beside the point
Been a fan for awhile and i like these recording bring a different feeling kindda like a rebirth but the originals have raw power and anger and for the time was just amazing !
I like it , no need to compare to old ones. And of course those versions have more "feeling". Maybe Varg just wanted to make these songs , with new sound, more producted , but so what.
it's interesting to hear the remake of these songs, but being a BURZUM fan since 92, I think the originals totally surpass these. The original album (I bought my copy from Euronymous..) have tons of atmosphere which is slightly lacking in these cleaned up versions. Still fuking great stuff though!
rerecording or not BURZUM IS FUCKING KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people talking shit about him would never say shit in his face i promise...he killed a dude with a knife man! not a gun like a pussy so he wouldn't have a problem killing anyone again i'm sure!...
If it counts as bad taste when you dislike vocals that sound like someone was performing testicle acupuncture with iron nails on a brat just about to reach puberty, then sure.
@Luukeksi I was being sarcastic. "If you don't like shitty recordings then you aren't true kvlt!" Again, sarcasm. Although I DO enjoy analog recordings especially in black metal because that's what gives it the atmosphere. A good, polished, Pro-Tools recording isn't bad either, it just feels empty to me.
Apart from the anti-christianity and church burnings and such, 90's Norwegian BM scene generally wanted to be the exact opposite of fancy Swedish death metal which they found overproduced, overhoned and wanky. Which is all fine and well, and I agree. Young and stubborn Varg just wanted make a point and deliberately chose the shittiest equipment imaginable when he recorded his first albums. I think his music alone would've been enough.
Goddamnit! Would it help if I took shirtless pictures of myself grimacing with a candelabrum or a torch(or both!) in an antihvman nekromisantrophik goatforest?
almost 40 year old guy screams and pretends he is still rebelious and young. this version is indeed for plastichead as it is plastic metal. Nicely polished and so artificial. No pace and feeling like the original. Sad attempt to earn some quids. Nothing to compare to '90.
@johnm8h I do not "have a band", I need none whatsoever. But yes, I recorded one demo album, available here on YT, Definitely, not so good at all like Burzum's stuff from 1992-1995 but apparently I am not so talented . However, at least I made an attempt, maybe if I do sth more in metal genre, it would be more interesting. And you? While obviously using bad words and most probably, still placing yourself in misery of typical mob behaviour, what can you say about your musical output?
@Sturmtreiben Actually yes. I am 30. I was 12 when I heard Burzum first. And still support my view that back then its muse was authentic and rebelious. Musically, Burzum is still interesting with 2 songs on Fallen (Jeg faller and Valen), but it is not rebelion anymore, rather an act of beautiful despair. This refers to Burzum only, as Vikernes and his political mind still in prison - jeg kan si at det er veldig morsomt :)
Excellent.

@zetareticuliband The vocals on this sound too generic ... The screeching vocals on the original made it more unique

vocals aren't as annoying as before. Burzum should totally do a worldwide tour.
zetareticuliband 2 months ago
@zetareticuliband it would be a brief world tour, because he wouldn't be allowed into most western countries.

Although this version lacks the same atmosphere, the better production really lets the riffs shine.

Finally I can listen to this song without having my ears offended by the retarded vocals and dry drums completely drowning the thin guitars.
