  • @e081194eng you mean in this video? I took this video three years ago and I have no idea what was going on. I kept being told that there were too much air traffic to the point that flights were backed up by hours. Atlanta Airport is the busiest airport in the world. I hope they were telling the truth because I had to cancel my piano lesson the following morning because I didn't go to sleep until like 3 AM due to this crap.

  • @e081194eng What the heck are you talking about? Each person is different. I am an engineering student who plays piano (both classical and jazz) and learns how to fly a small plane (Cessna 172). I am not a hunter and I am not interested in being in the military.

  • @e081194eng No thanks. And guns are my biggest fears. I can't even trust myself with guns.

  • Here's a better view of the busy airport in operation :

    watch?v=WtNS7ILG99A

  • @superyusrie Yes, that video was actually uploaded by the Atlanta Airport's official channel! Plus, the music is nice. This video is a year older than the other video.

  • @NHRHS2010 If you think I gave out too much sensitive information, you better moderate my last post, buddy ! hahaha ;P We live in a dangerous world today, don't we ? LOL ;D

  • @superyusrie Your information was more useful than sensitive. And as with Washington's airports, I thought BWI counts as a Baltimore airport. But it is close enough to Washington that people think of it is one of Washington's airports. Some Central NJ residents have an option for either Newark or Philadelphia.

  • @PLANEMANGROY The reason why it's so busy is because it's practically located in the heart of the USA serving a nation of ~300 million people. North America is such a big continent such that even domestic travels are mostly considered long haul flights. ATL is always used as stopovers for flights going North-South, East Coast- West Coast and in every other direction. And because it is in the middle, it receives less direct international flights than the coastal state's airports like JFK & LAX.

  • @superyusrie Also SF, Chicago & Miami.

  • why do people go to atlanta?

is it a nice city ?

I don't know why the 900 million travelers are in Atlanta????????

  • @fawii Many reasons. Like most cities people often check out Atlanta as tourists, others go there for business reasons. Some people might even have relatives in Atlanta area. Not to mention several people change planes in Atlanta.

  • @NHRHS2010 Yes but there are many airports in the USA that's not busy like Atlanta although it's better than Atlanta such as Orlando ( disny and universial S, other popular amusment parks...) , New york is not busy like Atlanta although lots of flights are direct and non-stop from many countries like Asia, Africa, Eur, Australia...... and also, New York is a busy city with many Business men and women. Is there a reason or secret Why Atlanta's Airport is the Busiesst in the entire world???????

  • @fawii That's a great question. New York City area has three major airports (Newark, LaGuardia and JFK) plus a few smaller airports (including Westchester County, Stewart, Long Island McArthur, Lehigh Valley...). Atlanta only has one airport, which is likely the reason why it's packed. Also, Atlanta is a main hub for Delta Air Lines, which is now the world's largest airline.

  • @NHRHS2010 Things know started to make sense....

yeah and also london have two airports instead of heathrow such as Gatwick and other smaller airports.

But chicago city, does it have other airports than O'hare ?

  • @fawii Indeed but most people only know Heathrow and it just became crowded (especially Terminal 4; I have never been there but heard a lot about it). And Chicago has O'Hare and Midway airports. Midway is a smaller airport mainly for domestic flights.

  • @NHRHS2010 I went to heathrow airport and I saw 100 of diffirent airlines, but Atlanta I only see Delta airlines and other airlines that looks the same but they are like 6 airplanes take off and land every 30 seconds.

when I was arriving at heathrow, we waited 30 munits circling around london untell we finnaly got the permission for landing. And when I travelled back, we waited 1 hour lining up for Take off!! London is a great and beutifull city, I love it's people and it's cool weather.

  • @fawii Heathrow is indeed busy. Like I said before Atlanta is Delta's main hub. Several other airlines fly into Atlanta but not as much as Delta. AirTran also has a hub in Atlanta, although it's not as big as Delta. Taking off and landing at JFK is similar to what you told me about Heathrow.

  • @fawii @fawii I had a little bad experience at Heathrow being snubbed by some "Your lordship" apparently, for asking him directions. LOL ;D I was like...hell man what did I do wrong? hahaha :D Shouldn't blame me for not being able to distinguish one old freckled fish&chips face from another, right ?? haha...Lordy lordy :D That's not the way people treat strangers in America my lord ! :P

  • @NHRHS2010 Washington DC has got three airports....Dulles International, Baltimore Washington International (BWI) & Reagan National. The busiest of the three is Reagan National Airport which is just across the river from the White House, even though it only caters to domestic flights. Air travel in America is just like taking a cab...well, at least in the 80's it was. I don't know about now. I attended two interviews after graduation with my flight tickets paid for by companies in LA & DC each.

  • @PLANEMANGROY Yes, indeed it is. New York City has a busy airport system but it uses multiple airports for commercial flights. Atlanta only uses one huge airport for commercial flights. Not to mention that Atlanta is a hub for multiple airlines, but mostly the world's largest airline, Delta.

  • still better than la guardia

  • @patko1610 yes, New York City area airports are known to be very crowded. Especially JFK. Plus, when I took this video, this was actually before I got on a flight to LaGuardia.

  • I was at Gate B18 in ATL sunday and it was busy, I flew a MD-88

  • @TheStrawberryLolicon Atlanta is the world's busiest airport, and I was once a victim of a four hour delay. So I hear you.

  • @NHRHS2010 it better not be very busy in 6:10 if it is, 49.7% of the people go to the California bay area, or other popular areas, countries or states

  • Good video when you mute it!

  • that is why this is the busiest airport in the world !!!!!! for 2010

  • @hammoudy1300 it has been the busiest airport in the world since like 2007.

  • @NHRHS2010 since like 1999 or 2000

  • @00nawtme then what about Chicago's O'Hare Airport?

  • that airport is huge there was a long airplane line thing when i was there

  • It is indeed huge. I've been to Atlanta Airport like eight times, and one time I was there, (when this video was taken), I was stuck at this airport for six hours after a stupid delay!

  • the food here really sucks

  • It's also expensive

  • its so busy because its the only international airport in georgia i think, and it handles 95 MILLION passengers a year

  • Well there is Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. But that airport is small and only has domestic destinations. Other airports in Georgia are either small domestic airports or have no passenger service at all. So that does make Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport the only airport with international destinations (and loads of domestic destinations). It's the busiest in the world, recently surpassing Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

  • that's not why it's busy its a major regional hub for southeast

  • you think 4 hours is alot. I was stuck waiting for a delayed plane at chicago for 12 HOURS!!!!!! The flight finally took off at 12 am. my flight was supposed to takeoff at NOON!!!!!!!!!

  • Well that must really suck. Yea, O'Hare Airport is known for delays!! I remember also being stuck there for a few hours at O'Hare in February 2000 when my flight to Newark was delayed.

  • lol i had an 8 hour on then to top it off the flight was to japan and 30 min later right back in a nother plan for a nother 8 hours to thiland. still had a good time tho

  • hahah MLGPro!!! best website/gaming league ever

  • Yeah Chicago O'Hare is bad in the winter time.I had to pass through to get to Atlanta and my flight was cancelled for the day(i remember a wednesday 4pm flight).i left the next day in the morning about 8am) after sleeping in the terminal.

  • I've been to Chicago once, which was in February 2000 (and I was in second grade back then). When I left Chicago on Continental Airlines to Newark, New Jersey from O'Hare Airport, the flight was delayed for hours.

  • I live here in Georgia and let me just say something. I live about 20-25 mins away from the airport and I hear airplanes go by in the sky , about every freaking 5-10 mins .

  • In fact, Atlanta Airport is the busiest airport in the world. The airspace near the airport is getting crowded, so you are hearing lots of airplanes. In fact, you're not alone. There is a place called Flushing in the New York City borough of Queens, and Flushing is immediately east of LaGuardia Airport and just a few miles north of John F. Kennedy International Airport so whenever I go to Flushing, I see and hear lots of loud, low-flying planes in the sky frequently.

  • ATL is THE BUSIEST airport in the world. Its nonstop traffic on 5 runways. I've been there at about one in the morning though, and the place is pretty much empty.

  • Agreed. I took this video when I was involved in a FOUR hour delay on July 6, 2008. I've been to this airport 8 times, and flights gets delayed frequently, like about 20 minutes or so, but it was this one day where my flight to LaGuardia Airport was delayed 4 hours.

  • yeap atlanta iz the busiest it has mo planes takinoff and landing then any other airport in the world..this iz y they added a fith runway and two new terminals r n the works if atlanta gets its budget right...the nightlife iz even betta @ the airport @ one point i could see 5 planes lined up for approach on both sides while two were takinoff...itz truly amazing

  • at any given hour there are at least 70 planes in katl!!!

  • I can tell; this means 7 planes in 6 minutes.

  • thats an amzing frequency for an airport, considering all the variables, wouldnt want to be an atc there:P

  • Yep, Atlanta Airport is known to be the busiest airport in the world. As a New Jerseyan, I've been to ATL 8 times. It's also very big. But one day (on July 6, 2008), I was part of the stupid delay where my flight bound for LaGuardia Airport left at 10:20 PM (instead of scheduled 6:40) and arrived LaGuardia Airport at 1:00 AM...almost 4 hours late! My flight from Cancun to Atlanta that day was fine, but my connecting flight was not!

  • katl is the worlds busiest airport, but i bet you already knew that.

  • That's correct, ATL is indeed the world's busiest, recently surpassing Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

  • of course their busy they have to get going and what do you expect it's an international airport i suggest you fly into atlanta airport and not hartsfield jackson because all they the passengers are gonna do is tell you to move so they can get their luggage.

  • Yep, it's ranked the busiest in the world, recently surpassing Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. I've been to that airport 8 times (since I fly Delta a lot) and usually go there for connecting flights except for one time where I went to Georgia to go to some summer program. This video was taken on 7/6/2008 when I connected flights in Atlanta where there a FOUR hour delay on a NYC-LaGuardia bound plane. A week later, I went back to Georgia for the summer program and had no problem with ATL.

  • In fact, I was on the way home from Cancun, Mexico when I took this video. It was a Sunday evening where there were too much air traffic resulting in a four hour delay of my flight. Ironically, about a week later, I went back to this busy airport, this time, where Atlanta was my final destination since I went to Georgia for the summer program and since I got to Atlanta on a Saturday morning, there wasn't much problem, compared with the previous week .

  • wow you need to get out more. lol

ATL is the busiest airport in the world, its no surprise to anyone on youtube that there are "so many" planes in Atlanta. travel much? LOL

  • Yes, I do travel a lot. Since April 2008, I went on 3 airplane trips and I plan on going on one more in a few weeks. My Wikipedia page (my username is the same on YouTube as Wikipedia) lists all my air travel records and I usually fly Delta Air Lines and as a result, I go to Atlanta Airport whenever layover is necessary.

  • Big deal....All you see is Delta with a few foreign carriers and most of them are Latin American Carriers operating anything from A320's to A330's/ or 767's to 777's...

I'd rather see fewer domestic flights and see a ton of 747's from airlines all over the world like we have here at San Francisco...

  • How about CDG. Thats a real Airport. 777, A340, And 747 where ever you turn. Atlanta is nothing but domestic clogging.

  • Your spot on...When you do the numbers on how many INTERNATIONAL travelers go through ATL, it's not that impressive...Most mjor European hub airports are wide body heaven...SFO were I am located has a decent variety of 747's

  • hong kong kai tak..go there for the big mofos.

  • bullshit. atlanta is a real airport. it has a good number of 747's, a340's, and we have MD-11's here too. the airport is so big though that they are all in one terminal.

  • PART 2: After waiting for two hours, the airport re-opened. We were #2 for the de-icing pad this time and finally took off after four hours.

  • I've spent 4 hours waiting to take off. It was 6 months ago at SLC. After leaving the gate, we went to the de-icing pad to be de-iced. We were number 4 in line for it. After being de-iced, we taxied to our runway. As we were taxiing, the runway was being plowed (it was snowing very hard). Unfortunately, the plows could not keep up with the snowfall and the airport closed. An hour-and-a-half had passed by now)

  • ATL Airport is the busiest in the world.

  • I agree with you. It is very busy and this resulted my flight to LaGuardia Airport, to be delayed for almost four hours

  • The longest time I've spent on the tarmac at ATL Airport was an hour. The worst was 2 hours, at Beijing's airport.

  • The longest time I've ever spent at an airport was 6 hours recently at Atlanta Airport alone. During the whole trip from Cancun to New York, I spent about 9 hours in airports alone (2.5 hours in Cancun Airport, 6 hours in Atlanta, and 30 minutes in New York's LaGuardia Airport)
