i am a profesional swimmer and this is as wrong as it can get, from the waist up(a little above the waist) it should be perfectly still ( you are wasting energy to stop your movement lol )
@EatACracker hes not swimming butterfly here, he's just kicking, if his arms are waving around in the water hes putting way too much work into something thats not pushing him forward
@theitalianboy357 no, momentum should come from the core, not the legs, but he is going too much up and down--it is not effecient. The "S" needs to be tighter, not so wide.
@theitalianboy357 you said "hes putting to much of the momentum into the body he needs to put it all into the legs"....that is not correct. Kick comes from the core, not the legs. Many swimmers, including the guy above, incorrectly kick from the quadriceps instead of using the psoas and the hips.
@theitalianboy357 Wrong. He is using his body too much but its not all legs. If you dont use your core and legs in it, then good luck even making a state cut in swimming.
I agree with theitalianboy, ur moving ur upper body too much, the perfect dolphin kick comes from your stomach down, not your entire body moving.

lol, people here are stupid, for butterfly you don't put it all in your legs, you do put it in the body, watch some olympic swimmers and you'll see

It is impossible to have a perfect dolphin kick with fins on. Grab some zoomers and practice it.

Your ankles need to curve back up into the movement - push the water with both sides of your feet.
jonisginger 4 months ago
you start from your knees.. The perfect way is starting from your chest.
