Of course, some will tell me, "But they need incentive to apply at such-and-such college", and that is true, BUT that should not justify having to give them such incredibly high pay. Professors are upper middle class just for being primarily teachers, while teachers before that, who have pretty hard jobs too and are crucial to kids getting into college or not in the first place, make way less. What's the incentive to teach k-12? Certainly not good pay, that's for sure.

There was an article in my student newspaper (and recurring ones) about how we're ranked among hte lowest in professor pay, and that's supposedly a "bad thing." This, written by students in a student newspaper! Why the fuck do the students want to continue justifying excessive pay for profs.? Until regular teacher pay is risen to a proper level, we should have a moratorium on any professor pay raises and perhaps lower them to make professors more devoted to their primary mission, teaching, rather than excessively using their job as just a tool to do tons of research and write books and have a gay old time doing it.

Not to mention professors are grossly overpaid. I mean, if you get into the college education process, you could get upwards of 100k a year! Whereas K-12 teachers, who are grossly underpaid, make on average about 30 grand. So the professor makes 3 times as much! Does anyone see something wrong with this? Sure, the professor teaches advanced classes and has a lot to do, and many professors in certain fields give back with a lot of research and findings, but still... Does that justify greed?

But I AM ready! I didn't go to exactly an "all-white" school. It was suburban St. Louis, and I had plenty of minority classmates and friends.

the whole invention of TAs seems to be 'passing the buck', so to speak. Not to say TAs are uneducated, but to have it so prevalent in big universities like my own seems to be a result of major instructor laziness.  Hell, in my accounting class, I never even saw the professor in the auditorium where we took the tests!! wtf? they can't be bothered to show up for the test? It just seems really weird, if you ask me. Do European institutions do the same thing?

The whole tenure thing is crap anyway. Seems like a good excuse to be lax on teaching while using a lot of free time to do more and more research. I mean, wtf is this TA bullshit? The professor can't just take some free time his or herself to grade papers and other such things? I mean, it's not like professors have to grade a lot of assignments. I'm in college, and I know most classes have either a lot of small homework or very few big homeworks and a lot of quizzes and few tests.
