I saw a case in the UAE actually. As for these countries, those with a history of imperialism, invasion, slavery, oppression etc.. will never change, speaking in the broad political sense. They will do what ever it takes to secure resources and generate profits. However, who needs Islam? There are problems in the West but there are massive problems in the Arab Muslim world. Apart from familial stabilty, they have all the social problems of the West - much worse in many cases

Muslims are commanded to love their mum 3 times more than their dad. Yes, women are commanded to cover their hair and their body not to oppress them but to protect them. @loveofkemet One of the biggest problems with the economic system in place is paper money which only has value because they say it has so you may have some hard earned money that today you would be able to buy a computer with but if you save it the value of the money just keeps declining which allows people to be controlled by a tiny fraction of the population. Money used under the Sharia has value in it such as gold, silver, salt, dates, etc.

No matter how many times someone says "enough is enough", no matter how many times Muslims expect us to do what they want, the people's views are always poorly/never represented. Furthermore, this is the same with most issues, not just with Islam (like with being part of the EU, a lot of us want out, but we aren't listened to).

There is no counter-measure in US strategy in Afghanistan to best the Taliban's jihad strategy. Instead, the US wants to bestow legitimacy on the Taliban.
The counter-terrorism doctrine is- targeted strikes against Taliban leaders and units, but it does not include a counter-insurgency that mobilizes the general populace against the jihadis to isolate them. Jihad's most important component, indoctrination, is not on US radars anymore.
