  • oh shindler shindler

  • @benjevator

    ....how can we wreck thee?

  • it is way smoother

  • I road an elevator that looked just like that it is at sears laguna hills mall ornage county CA.

  • @benjevator

I'm sure the one you rode was a bit less creepy, though. :)

  • I like the bell, but the floor indicator FAILS!!!!!!

  • @nospeakamericano97

    This thing has several issues.

Truth to the old addage: "Too many cooks, spoil the broth."

  • I don't crack the doors anymore because I did it and the interlock jammed... basically I broke the elevator.. :P

  • @cannycart

I don't force them. f I reach the end of play, I ease off a tad. Then let go when it's close to level. That helps prevent issues.

  • @georgef551 Thanks for the tip! I'll try it!

  • @cannycart

Just don't pry the door open all the way. :)

  • @cannycart LOL I did the same! On a Mowrey!!

  • thers a YMCA there??

  • @NHB2010

Yes. It used to be in the mall itself, then they moved into this area.

  • If only it was the opposite. Montgomery did a damn good mod on a circa 1972 Otis at Richmond's City Hall (see my videos for a vid)....

  • @ElevatingPirate

    I know.

The voice might've been done during the Outlet Mall days (Otis contract), but the rest of it, you can tell who's got the contracts now. :)

  • @georgef551

Heh, yeah. I just love that Otisgomery, as I call it. Its probably almost all-Otis mechanically (and has awesome shakes and creaks), just has a Montgomery controller. But it has such nice acceleration and levels instantly. Love it.

  • @ElevatingPirate

I think the only thing Otis is the talking part. Montgomeries are mostly used in the stores in the mall days, with the exception of the big Jordan Marsh space, which origianlly did have a bank of 6 Otis elevators. Monties were also used in the parking garages. (Floor counter on this one similar to another Monty I rode).

  • I don't think Schindler modded this.

  • @suzzex

    Outward apperances, no.

    By operation? Yes.

(Schindler maintains, and upgrades, the elevators. The voice may be pre-Schindler, not sure.)

  • @georgef551 Adams voice I believe. Be thankful that this wasn't a Kruppy mod!

  • @suzzex

    So I've heard.

I thought the voice would be an EPCO (Adams) thing, but the muffled voice is so Schindler, Micronics being a great example.

I can't imagine what a TK mod would do.

  • Schindler mods are hit-or-miss. HXPress mods (like this one) most often suck totally. TXPress is usually much better, if not best. Just look at my videos of Forest Hills Tower; that's an example of a very nice Schindler modernization.

  • @revo8778

Hit-or-miss you say. Guess where this one lies? :)

    LOL!!!

I aggree, Schindler can do a good job, especially tractions.

  • wow leave it to schindler to mess up a elevator mod

  • @crapper1

Schindler DOES have the market on SOMETHING, at least. :)

  • We all know how Schindler can ruin, I mean modernize an elevator! They're about as bad as ThyssenKrapp. (Schind-mod vs. kruppy-mod)

  • @jimster586

All it needs, is that 330A up/down chime, and the loud hydro package. It's like Courtney Love, except this is ridable.

  • @georgef551 LMAO!

  • @georgef551 Ohhhh, rofl.

  • was this taken on the Slide HD?

  • @TheElevatorChannel

The UltraHD. This was shot months ago.

  • That's original but they added on the voice which is common on ThyssenKrupp and Otis.

  • @KONEelevatorman111

    Schindler throws loops, don't they?

It could be that Otis might've done the voice, but City Square has a Schindler contract. That could've been done before then.

  • @georgef551 Well this is an office space so they could have a different contract. The cab and floor counter looks renovated. It could be Schindler because that voice I've seen on other brands. You might be right that it was modernized by Schindler but not heavily.

  • @KONEelevatorman111

The voice might've been added on, while the Outlets were on their last legs, being it was in operation until 2006.

Everything else is definately Schindler, everything not good, that is. :)
