It should be mentioned..This video takes place in Europe..Greece if im not mistaken..In Eurpoe they use Kilometers as a speed measurement.So when the Odometer reads 299 ,he is actually going about 186 mph.Thats around the stock max speed for the gixxer 1000's

@MrBooyams common man! I used to have a 250rr and I took a 1000 for a test ride today.. as long as you behave with the throttle you can go above 80mph without being scared! My entire test ride went to like 70, didn't go over 6k RPM the entire time.. just didn't have to =). Congrats on the purchase though!

@MrBooyams Things like throttle control and cornering are difficult when a 1000 is your first bike. Usually, you see guys who never get rid of their chicken strips b/c they know they have too much bike for them to handle with current skill set. Your first car should be a beater, not a dragster. First bike should be of a more manageable hp. But true, you won't have to upgrade...ever.

Have you had your fuel system mapped? You said no turbo just power commander right? Seems to hit really hard or is that just a heavy right wrist? I have to agree with my TL if I hit it like that or the new 1199 when comes out I would be wearing my bike for a hat! Now as for Busas not being able to corner I think they can as I ride them in the canyons near Red Rock canyon all the time and she turns just fine. when you have a bike like this you must be very careful of getting the power to the ground when powering out of corners i mean this thing will smoke the tyres in a straght line from just twisting the throttle and keep smoke'n through the gears. awesome pulling along side some1 on the highway doing 100kmh and powering away from them with the wheels smoke'n!! when the tyres are worn it will smoke up alot easier. hav fun ride safe. hardnfast

@Vagpatrol you're kidding of course...start off with a 400 or 600cmc. This bike is for experienced riders only. Besides...sooner or later you're gonna hit the ground so it should on a cheaper bike...that's my advice at least.

@Vagpatrol DEFINITELY, unless if you've raced since a young age. Like sliksQQ said, start small. I wouldn't go all the way down to a 250, you'll get board after a couple weeks. My first bike is a Ducati monster 696 and that has kept me happy for a while now. Good luck!

@captaincuss2009 k5 were the daddy's as was the k6 1000,true lightweight 1000's then the k7 and k8 came along and felt slower and heavier but on a track they are quicker,get rid of the stupid heavy cat and add a pc3 and decent slip on exhaust and you'll see 180 bhp at the rear wheel and they'll eat the earlier ones for breakfast,k9 1000 lighter and handles better than the k7/k8 1000,power roughly the same as the k7/k8.looks uglier though.handling is awsome on all the bikes.
