b/w putting droid on a smartphone, or jaibreaking and iphone, either way you run risks, I have to go with the iPhone on this one though. Between having iTunes, so you can pick up a song wherever you are, apps that blow pretty much all other phone apps out of the water between variety, usefulness, graphics, and just overall quality. Besides, Apple has way more funding behind their phone and OS that some Open source OS, iPhone has way more potential to fix any bugs is does happen to have.

good review even though its older than dirt. I went from iphone 3g to BB bold 9700 to G1. Hope I like the g1! I hated the crappy os on the iphone, constant lock ups, glitches. Dont get me wrong it was a great phone but the constant freezing had me wanting to blast it off the wall! Blackberry bold 9700 kills the iphone in all dept except screen size, if the iphone had sex with the BB it would be the perfect offspring!

Andriod has come a long way, the G1 was ugly and short lived. The iPhone 3g and edge can take video, there are a ton of apps on the app store that let you. I prefer the iPhone over any android phone, the nexus 1 is close but the fact that you can only use the internal 512 MB of space for apps and not the 4GB SD card is a shame. On the iPhone you can use all the 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB for what ever you want.

3gs is a 3.0 megapixel and it has video capture in it to with built in video edit software. g1 phone is great as well and lacks video edit and voice command. in my opinion is its not the phone that matters its what you pay for your phone plan and what services one would use.
