Oh my f**kin God...that solo, so complex and yet it's flawless, it's perfect...and dime makes it seem so easy. I'm so pissed off that he is no longer with us, he was f**kin' incredible, he will always be my biggest inspiration for playing the guitar!
They really revolutionized a new sound. I mean look at the metal that other bands were playing in 1989 and, then they come and play this new Groove Metal
@vaimaster82 Well, Exhorder, etc. was around. Metal music in the 80's was at the top of its game, and actually very diverse and substantial. A lot of that substance is missing nowadays. That's when you get shit, and the genre loses popularity.
Glam Metal bands could be fucking heavy as well. Glam is not Poison, but part of real Heavy Metal. Poison is just Rock 'n' Roll. Basically Glam doesn't exist. It's all Metal. It's been denied by corrupt businesses taking away from Metal's popular appeal.
@RazzorCrazzor I wasn't exactly talking about glam but get what ou mean. I was talking about thrash man. Pantera brought it to a whole new level. Speaking of which. today is Dimebag's deathday. RIP
@metratix Great question. Honestly, I have no clue why they refuse to acknowledge the pre-CFH albums. They really were not bad at all, especially I Am the Night and Power Metal, which had some of my favorite Dimebag riffs on them.
@WPH15 Well man learn from the past - I think it's interesting how the public and hipsters viewed music at different time periods. In 10 years you'll have some perspective. Music kinda moves in 20 year cycles.
@stevieVantanna well in 1995 due to hyper-technological computer developement that "revolutionized" and enabled recording studios to do "magic", talentless inferior apes were given the same popular status and spotlight that 10 years prior mostly had only been given to very talented REAL musicians/artists.
u know phil has always said that this wasnt him and it was another band! lol Ive got power metal and want the other 2 before it adn power metal kick's some ass wish vinnie would rerelease it for the ppl!!!!
What's this venue called? I believe they filmed "Walk" there too.

labeling pantera as "power metal" makes more sense than european power metal bands...anybody agree?

@6sic6slipknot After CFH they hardly played their powermetal or previous songs.

Dude did you forger how "uncool" that style of music was in the mid 90's?
...it's different now...I mean kids respect bands like Ratt and Judas Priest when in 95 it was "gay".

@stevieVantanna Well, fuck kids back then.

@stevieVantanna Ratt and Priest had killer shit. Music nowadays isn't even worthy enough to be compared to them.

IF you listen to the Cowboys from hell album carefully you will notice glam elements. It wasn't pure groove untill Vulgar 92
