I love the comment you made about a gun not being comfortable but comforting and Clint smith also said if you decide to carry a gun every day it's not only going to require a change in attitude but also a change in lifestyle and I live my life by those two quotes. Amazing informative video be safe and god bless.
hey looking for a tip from you man... im real skinny and if i strap a 1911 for my ccw ill stand out ... the biggest ive caryed was a g26 but usualy just a naa 22 mag revolver or a ruger 380... so should i carry big to?
@topo2407 Every body is different. I've been thin most of my life, but I'm 6'7" so concealment has never been much of an issue. There are many small guns that we have to choose from, that still bring a major caliber to bear. Guns such as Walther PPS, Kahr, KelTec, Ruger and 1911's offer thin sub-compact handguns that are very concealable. seek out some of these in gunshops to see if you like them. Many ranges have guns for rent, check and see if some of the guns you like are available to shoot.
What type of lock box do you have in your car. I have a job were I can't carry and I would love to be able to lock it in my car v.s leaving it under the seat.
Beautiful Kimber, and great opinions as always. I honestly think all those nicks and scratches give the gun more character. That "old warhorse" appearance is something that is very special and is hard to duplicate. Much like a worn in set of jeans.
In reference to the north american arms 380 holster - Is this intended to be fired holstered? Would the slide come into contact with the holster? Sorry if this is a stupid or obvious question
@bitpri05 The holster is designed to fit only around the frame, and the slide is therefore free to cycle. I've had the holster for about 4 or 5 yrs and when I shoot the NAA, I leave it in that holster. So far, I haven't had any issues.
@jimkressin Thanks, you folks need to get busy and work on them laws! Almost bought a "violin case" type Tommy gun case once, but man they were expensive! Thanks
If you can conceal a firearm, with a CCW permit, can you carry any firearm you so wish? So that Thompson for example, if you could find a way of successfully concealing it, is that still game?
@TheEnglishRedneck45 Not here in VA. we have a permit to carry a handgun concealed. We do have efforts tochange the permit to "concealed weapons", but so far we have failed.
I like that pocket holster you got for the NAA .380! Looks like it's designed so you can shoot with it that way. I'd be interested in one if I go the .380 route (which up until recently was a sure thing). Great vid, man. The Thompson will end all discussions, anytime, anywhere! Good luck!
@DemonHide The BATF changed some rules in respect to "wallet holsters" and this holster was one of the designs that resulted from that rule change. I like that it breaks up the outline of the gun and positions it in the pocket for retreval.
nice vid. its nice to hear someone that thinks as i do. you hear guys on here that say "i CC this (some small gun) and i forget its there". i dont want to forget its there i want it to be on the front of my mind.if you "forget its there" then your not ready if something goes down.
@fisherdigital I guess it's what your used to. I thought the Ruger SP101 357mag w/ a 3" barrel was really light and handy when I bought it. LOL and it was compared to the 1911 and L frame Smith that I was carrying.
@ebomey The P30 is an awesome gun! I bet you'll really love it!
That Kimber was an expensive 1911, A buddy ordered one at the same time. He shakes his head because I shoot and carry mine, but I tell him: you don't know what you're missing, these guns shoot great!
I don't know Bro, both of my kids are out of the house... it's kinda nice!
I've only owned Gov. model 1911's, do you like the smaller versions?
I really like the weight of the Raptor! It carries the same if not better then the EAA!
As for smaller 1911's. The Tactical shoots well and I have not had a problem with the CDP Ultra, but I still feel more in control over the Full sized models. You really said a lot of great things in you Video!
Like you, I am also NOT concerned that it only has 8 rounds.
Some day I would love to get together with a bunch you YT gun guys and talk and shoot!
@GunznGear I almost bought one last week, but over all it is almost the same size as the full...one inch.
I will get one again, it is just hard right now! First I had the divorce and now I make good money...when I am not laid off! (Sad Face)
I received a great tax refund this year and planned on getting a Kimber Super Carry Pro and the Walther PPS 40cal. The day before the money arrived I was laid off......Now the refund is going to cover lost wages. At least I have it!
First off, the Raptor is one of my older pistols, It has been a safe queen.
I have to know what you think of the Walther pps? last Sat I almost bought the 40cal.
I really thank you for the time to give all these great points! I have no problem with the size and weight of the Raptor! I love the 45acp round! I love the 1911!
You have got to be the luckiest person I know! You have more guns on my want list then the US Military! You don't know what I would do to shoot the Tommy!
@ebomey Opps, sorry I got it wrong on the Kimber.
I really like the PPS, I find that I can shoot it better than any of the small guns. I haven't shot the 40, but it might be too much of a good thing.
I guess because I started w/ big heavy steel guns, I don't mind them either.
Thanks for the kind words, but there's a good reason for my collection. There was a lot of OT to work in the 80's and 90's, AND I didn't get married untill 1999!!!
If you ever get by here, maybe we can shoot the Tommy
good luck buddy! man,i love them 1911s but i'm just to small to carry one.I'm thinkin about an m&p 45,compact model as i like my 9mm so much.i'm gonna pass it along to the wife so i can get a new gun,and i want the larger caliber, but in a compact gun.whats the capacity of the m&p45,compact? thanx Van.8)

bullet placement is far more important than how big your bullet is.

@paulakapdub Bullet placement is paramount, so is ammo selection, so is chambering... What's your point? I never said otherwise.
