  • listening to this while watching power puff girls is so enlightening

  • Thats a TRVE bass drum

  • he sounds like a friendly sort of fellow

  • @NeroAnxiety68 Norway

  • @MrPragalve Shape of Despair is one of the best Funeral Doom bands

  • sorry, is just that this kind of music can't calm me down at all, but it does to you and that's ok, that's you, i understand... and calling you weird was a funny way to say you are different (maybe my humor is weird). :)

  • This kind of music along side *black metal* is great to listen to when you're having an anxiety attack. This helps me a lot.. They started to bug me 4 years ago.. I hope they'd just go away.

  • @MindSeeR666 Jesus man, i also have problems with anxiety attacks and when i'm having one the last thing i want to listen is this. Take this in the good way but, you are wird...

  • @cocozaococozao123 Lol, how am I weird? There's no such thing as the term *weird* you either accept them for being different or not at all. Don't insult people or judge.

What makes you any better, huh?

  • Denmark just makes the best metal in my opinion.

  • Is this danish? holy shit

  • it sounds like death burning all the souls at the arrival to hell... or a house with people burning down in slow motion, while u can see all the people suffer... and burn... or death out on mission...just...this sounds like death... so fucking ..beautiful...

  • I suffer from anxiety really bad a teacher at college told me to take them depression drugs or what ever..

This really does help me go through the day.. I love music like this and Coldworld it helps me out a lot it's dark, beautiful and so elegant.

  • M-must not reach for my gun.

  • This song drove 6 people to suicide.

  • Slightly corrected translation: Followed silent bells Walked in the night The eyes to the raven The shadow to the dark The dust to the wind Time to eternity Reached for the abysses Never touched the sky Written by dead (The "to" in the 4 lines, can be changed to "till". I can't decipher, which would fit).
  • This is the soundtrack for the burning of the world.

  • Amazing track.

  • please someone reccommend me some nice funeral doom bands.i know few like ahab, corroupt, nortt etc.

  • @MrPragalv Listen Evoken.

  • @MrPragalv

    Torture wheel and skepticism...

  • One of the greatest funeral doom songs of all eons to come.

  • @STORMLORD70 Agreed Bro!.. this is like an apocaliptic mega truck coming over some lost soul ..lol...

    Hails Nortt!!!

  • satanistic fuck !

  • I want to play this song on my funeral.

  • @Albrteno sounds like a catch 22 there.

  • Nortt should make the soundtrack for Limbo.

  • gorgeous

  • Great cover ...

  • @Shadowtomo ? link to original, pls...

  • @BlackEvilShit No, no... This is original song. I mean that picture. Cover art of that album is great.

  • @Shadowtomo aaaaahh.. (eheheh!)

    yes it is..

i read somewhere that he is an inmate.. is this true?

  • @BlackEvilShit You mean inmate in mental asylum? Well, I don't know, but I don't think so, although he acts like one :D I think, he is ok... just a little fascinated in darkness, depression and these things. You know, that's not very often, when someone call his style of music "Pure Depressive Black Funeral Doom Metal" .

  • @Shadowtomo No, prison. Saw it on the "nortt" page of the portuguese wiki..

All people are different. Nothing is "often"..

  • @BlackEvilShit Oh, so in prison. Well again, I don't know. But, do you know why is he imprisoned? I will be happy to know that.

  • 5:14 You gotsa be shittin me

  • Interestingly enough, i never had someone dying on me.

Why am i even listening to this.

I just feel attracted to this track.

  • just turn on, sit in comfortable armchair in dark room, and think about existance.

  • Nortt + Sennheizer headset = Death!

  • That song must be awesome live =P DOOM!

  • @MysticleMonster Nortt does not play live.

  • so darkned and desolated song...

    great song

  • im still loving this song . hail nortt !

  • The sound of death! We all gone die in the end...

  • this never fails to creep me out. Nortt should seriously consider composing music for horror movies he would completely rape the competition. Seriously this shit is DARK!

  • Deep... Dark... Cold...

  • One of my all-time favourites.

  • This is great Black Funeral Doom.

  • Love it.

  • Whenever I hear this song, I can't help but imagine glaciers. Huge, crushing, deathly glaciers.

I get chills when I hear this...

  • Lay in bed. Play this song. Have a nice trip.

  • This is hurting my ears and brain and it's not even at all loud... how unbelievably heavy :| the Bang and Olufsens are probably helping with that

  • i found the music for my funeral..

  • @doommaster66 so did i!!

  • ooooooooo, i like the ambience.

  • where can i get these lyrics in english???

  • @deathmetalmania100 it's here in the comments. i tried to translate it a year ago. here's my try:

I followed the silence of the bells I went into Night Eyes of ravens Shadow of darkness Dust of Winds Time to eternity I reached for abysses I never touched the sky Written by death

  • @AtheisticDesecration thanxs man just ordered the album yesterday great find!!!

  • @AtheisticDesecration Being danish, I can correct a few minor mistakes in your translation. The correct translation is as follows "Followed silent bells / walked in the night / the eyes unto the raven / the shadow unto darkness / the dust unto the wind / time unto eternity / reached for the abyss / never touched the sky / written by dead*"

    * - dead is to be understood as a noun, i.e. the indefinate form of "the dead".

Not to be an ass or anything, just thought you'd want to know.

  • @deathmetalmania100 Of Dead came silent bells went into the night eyes of the raven Shadow of darkness dust to the wind time to eternity reached after precipice never touched the sky written by dead
  • @deathmetalmania100 what lyrics?

  • this is good funeral doom. generally i do not like the genre and could go without the keyboards, etc. but this is very grim dark and heavy.

  • i love this music?? :) tommorow im getting my cds

    Darkness arises

  • MEMENTO MORI

    MORS AD PAX

  • Beautiful...

  • Hail Danish funeral doom!

  • @Metaldude1945 Check out,,,,,SORGNATT-(Suicide)

  • @m00se321 Nice tip, i liked it.

  • Fucking Great Music

  • this is great...

  • oh its a soundtrack... (irony)

  • its Ambience, not Metal or something...

we should call this Black Ambience ;)

  • @LuxisVig Not a bad idea actually, it definately would fit that genre better than Doom 'metal' :P

  • this is not metal,

  • I've just recently discovered this band (1 man band) and i really like it. Thanks for posting!

  • I fucking LOVE this band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its just one guy sweetheart.

  • Its great how musicians are personalizing genres now. Hmmm, i like doom metal, black metal and the like. soooo ima make Pure Depressive Black Funeral Doom Metal. I like Black metal, punk and polka. hmmmmm??

  • So you should definitely make Folk Black'n'roll ...would sound like crap imho

  • Lol, sorry i was tired. the last part i was referring to finntroll actually, but completely wrote that wrong.

  • @AtheisticDesecration Idiot, hahaha, check out Korpiklaani, that's folk metal, for more extreme check out Finntroll wich is Black Metal Folk Metal hybrid.

  • @Bloodmead

seen both of them live. finntroll ain't bad (at least their first album) the other stuff is for 15 year olds

  • That mixture wouldn't sound good.

    Doom/black/funeral metal share some similarities.

  • @Samhainmisfit123

    TROLL METAL

  • Comment removed

  • @Samhainmisfit123 That would be like Abbath from Immortal singing in the Dropkick Murphys.

  • @Samhainmisfit123 You'd get Finntroll

  • @Samhainmisfit123 What he forgot to add in there was *ambient

  • I'm sorry if I misunderstood this, but do you expect all those musicians to go dressed in black, wearing corpse paint, inverted cross etc. in public?

You know it's just an image most of them use while on stage, right? :p

  • nah man im aware that the majority of the bands its all and image, but im not so sure about nortt..he's seems pretty serious in interviews

  • @Rapistpsycho I agree totaly , I have been in the comunety in a long time now black/doom that is ..And the friends I know from there aint wareing the signs of it in puplic only on statge... I know a person who is playing live with full corpse paint and his a banker so he cant realy ware it at work and choose not to ware it away from the stage .:)

  • @Rapistpsycho i wear inverted crosses around my neck everyday

i have a huge 4 inches one always with me and when people touch it bad things happen to them haha it's funny you never know what will happen different for everyone

  • So crushing...

  • Can someone take the liberty of giving me a good list of similar artists/bands?

  • Dolorian, Unholy, Ajattara, Forgotten Tomb, Gallhammer

  • @UdonSmiff65

    Similar bands to this include

Sunn O))), Leviathan, Thergothon, Xasthur, Burzum, Khanate, and Aethenor

    Enjoy

  • the white horseman has this on his i-pod

  • This is definitely a thoughtful song. It is very interesting.

  • it's like a metallic acid trip.

  • (through a haunted forest.)

  • metallica cid trip?

  • i know why these guys are one man bands :\

  • This music is more of a reason to live, rather than die in my opinion... But you never know. He may want people to kill themselves, to mock and once again prove his point of the weakness within man, as I've read he often does; degrade the weak... His individual intention with his music, I'd say only he (Nortt) would know. Cheers to you, man.

  • Of course this music is a reason to live.

It wouldn't be that fucking awesome if it wasn't a reason to live.

  • It's supposed to be depressive, not encouraging.

  • I'd have thenm play this song at my funeral.

  • Your words make great sense... Yet I'm sure the idea of waiting for death is all more haunting than actually achieving it with such ease. I think people misunderstand he doesn't promote that suicide is good, but that death is. And so when it comes, be ready to welcome it.. to let go and have no fear of it. For it is beautiful. Great music.

  • @Nekroton dam nice way to put it nekroton comment of the year lol

  • <3 Génial j'adore !

  • I absolutely agree with you.

  • gud!

  • Dude, this song is awesome. I dare someone to play this on your home stereo with your sub woofer up to the max!

  • It's way better with some nice headphones. It Grinds the darkness into your brain

  • ...and darkness that it have in abundance

  • AMEN TO THAT, AtheisticDesecration... I don't just wish to listen to this. Its more like the music itself drags me gently towards her and with her grasp I wish to remain at her lone side for eternity.

  • Been there, done that.

    And I highly recommend it!

  • I really hope you were being sarcastic...

  • such awesome stuff right here

  • great...

  • the first danish band i've ever heard of besides alphabeat xD

  • oh, there are a lot of good danish bands.

    Make a change...kill yourself;

    Angantyr;

    Blodarv

  • @AtheisticDesecration

And Heidra, not to be forgotten.

  • What about Aqua? :P

  • @vikingskippen What about the brutal band called Aqua?

  • Nortt is the best.. the band is so much different 2 other bands.. its great..

  • of course it's danish, but hence i'm german, i decided to translate it to german first and then to english (and on a second try directly to english) to get a more accurate translation

  • This is so beautifully haunting.

  • What does the word "Nortt" mean?

  • presumably since its spelled damn close to the english word north, and thats where a lot of this type of music hails from (northern norway/sweden/denmark) you would think thats what it meant. however, in doing some research, I dont think it means anything out side of thats the dudes name that makes this music.

  • can someone translate the lyrics to english for me? Ive already looked (not hard i admit) but cant find english translation. i'd appreciate it very much

    sick as music

  • Ok, i tried it with an online translator (to german and i translated it to english)...can be wrong in some parts...i can't make out if it's really meant to be in first person singular "I followed the silence of the bells I went into Night Eyes of ravens Shadow of darkness Dust of Winds Time to eternity I reached for abysses I never touched the sky Written by death" Maybe one of our danish friends can help us :)
  • I'm form Denmark, so I'll try and translate it. Followed silent bells Walked in the night Eyes to the raven The shadow to the darkness The dust to the wind The time to the eternity Stretched for the abyss Never touched the sky written by dead It doesn't make sense in danish so no wonder the translation is a bit off
  • thanks dudes. I find that reading the lyrics along with listening to extreme doom adds a whole new emotional level to it.

    especially with bands like panthiest

  • No problem

    METAL FOREVER

  • It makes perfect sense in danish, if I may be so bold as to correct you.

  • Yes it makes sense, but if you look at the grammar, then it doesn't make much sense,

  • good fucking night, and i thought behemoth was dark, makes any other doom band i heard sound like telletubbies, notice i say any other DOOM band, if you talk about bands period, then listen to some cryfemal now that ....well actually i don't know both this band and cryfemal are just fucking insanity, but if you want the most emotional, then listen to some hypothermia, lifelover, or life is pain, but this is definitely darker i think, alittle depressing really

  • HaiL Nortt \m/

  • no..Nortt is special

  • Fuckin suicide!!!

  • Nortt is really a one man band. But Sterbend and Inquisition are not one man bands!

  • Do you not fear his rotatial strummings?

  • ich liebe dieses lied ich würde 10 sterne für dieses lied geben wollen nicht nur 5!!!!

  • XDDD GreaT!

  • the first nortt song,i hear-and i already like the band after 10 seconds of listening

  • your not wrong dude! ha

  • It has got black metal elements, yes, but nowhere near emo. Emo is a mix of hardcore punk, indie rock and just plain pop punk, whereas Nortt produces a mix between black and the so-called funeral doom genres. You just saw a guy in a forest with a rope and immediately thought "emo", when Nortt actually represents true misanthropy and the embrace of death as the liberating moment in existence.

Døden er både målet og vejen, hvorigennem menneskeheden kan befries fra eksistensens forbandelse.

  • ok sarry i just thinking to make some experimental metal of mix rock & metal

  • i feel u man. everyone is just thinking about how many lyrics we should put in. how many licks to fill in. i care least about meaninngs. just feel the music \m/

  • I'm sorry maybe I'm a dull minded XD

  • è rilassante si...ma anche inquietante...sento come una forza oscura accanto a me O_O

  • wow.... it gave me tingles... wow

  • Funeral Mourning is great, too. But you sound like a moron

  • right after "that would be epic" it all goes south from there.

and "emo" ... "killing ourselves" .... not so much.

  • @Vbandofficial Please stay listening to your own metal... This is embarassing...

  • i can feel this song..

  • This is what slipping over the threshold into death sounds like. :D

  • Ure not alone on that....

  • Nortt is true desolation. Amazing music!

  • thats why i love it... :-S

  • Thanks.

  • the freezing darkness...
