Fought for 14 hours at Goose Green, outnumbered 3 to 1, whilst having no artillery or air support, and only having the weapons their hands could carry. AWESOME isn't in it !!!!!! This is why they are described as the LEGENDARY 2 PARA.
UK aid to argentina = £450 million over 12 years, Argentina has untold reserves of their own, UK citizens face cut back after cut back across the board and our government havent finished.
why is the UK giving so much financial aid to Argentina who are so against UK interests?
If like me you are sickened by this news, you would be glad to know the UK government website has an e-petition.
google: Overseas Aid Assessment
Do your bit, spread this message, this cannot be allowed to continue.
@EddieExile And what difference does that make when Argentina DOES NOT want a new war? I think you do not understand that the real weakness of the UK is at home: the biggest in-debt country in the world (429% of the GDP) + 2.6 M un-employed (and a projection of 4 M by end 2013) + more London riots coming.
@williamblair11 Is that so ? Well, tell that to every brit killed down there. Well, i suppose they must have committed suicide, Argentinian soldiers couldn`t have killed them for sure according to your stupid statement...
@EddieExile Not at all. Some Argentinian soldiers were obviously covered inside treanches (not bunkers) waiting for the invaders, and fighted from there. This was common used tactic since 1st world war and the brits did it millions of times. Brits also were killed by courageous pilots who had to attack modern warships against all odds, dying most of the times but attacking anyway. And brits pilots were killed too by antiair weapons.
The outnumbered British soldiers had to run up mountains under fire with no cover (after marching 80 miles) to attack argentine defensive positions prepared over 2 months with fortified trenches, heavy machine guns and mortars, anti tank missiles, snipers with night sights, and numerous minefields.
The British should have lost far more soldiers than the argentines but lost less because the argentines were incompetent and didn't have the stomach for a fight.
@EddieExile What kind of movie are you on, little bathroom general ? With no cover ??? They climbed those mounts (not mountains, it`s not the same thing) after hours of "softening" shelling of the navy wich at night dared coming closer to land and firing. Anyway, brits lost more soldiers than the Argentines. It`s a fact that the official numbers weren`t the real ones. That`s why every kind of information regarding to those numbers was classified for 90 years under threat of martial court.
@eltucanmamero Every british book written regarding the war, refers to more uk dead soldiers than the official number given, for example. Anyway, 255 it`s an outstanding perfomance when you compare equipment and tech. And when you understand that the so called "one of the best armies in the world" faced and died in the hands of 18 year old conscripts with practically none war training. Imagine if our best troops (mistakely protecting our chilean border) would have engaged those para.
@eltucanmamero The number of brit deaths is known to be not less than 1300. For example, the uk never admitted having lost any plane and there is proof of at least 10 harriers shot down by different type of Argentine defense. On the other hand, if you rest the coward attack on Fragata Belgrano where 323 died, you`ll find that 326 were the Argentinian deaths on the field and the air. Not so far away, even of the official number of 255. Didn`t have the stomach ? You make me laugh...
@EddieExile Try reading some of your fellow soldiers before making stupid statements to feel a tough guy (you probably aren`t). An ex high command of the brit army answers your bully stupid talking in the very same name of the book he wrote on regards of his experience in that war. The book is called "No Pic Nic". I remaind you those incompetents soldiers killed more than 1300 (or 255 for you, it`s the same) and teared apart your royal navy to pieces. Want names of the ships sunk or destroyed ?
@eltucanmamero You received more punishment in 74 days of war than in years of war in Irak and Afghanistan. You were pretty close to loosing that war. After you start saying stupid things again, check on the very words of the brit commanders of those times. Those are their words, not mine tough guy.

@jimmytx3 My father was RAAF on exchange to the RAF on C-130s during the Falklands. He, and myself, find this war a failing on the Governments of Australia and New Zealand to assist to UK.
A great book "Above All Courage" is certainly worth the read.
Too this day my dad is in regular contact with, and catches up with all the guys he served with. He reckons there were dozens of Aussies & Kiwis on exchange in all branches during the war that do not get any support from their own countries.
@gnarkillkicksass Hi, yes, we had an Austrailian Officer Lt Ian Moore with 3 Para, and Richard (Dickie) Absolon MM, who died with 3 Para was born in New Zealand, there has always been good representation of Australian and New Zealand within the regiment, Pte John Howard of 3 Para, who was killed in December 5th 2010 in Afghanistan was a Kiwi,

kirkwanglers32 - Hi mate. PTSD is the result I've heard in so many cases. Have you tried "help for heroes", relying on charities really isn't good enough & more should be done by the government. Talking is always going to help, have a look on my list of friends - you may know some. Be sure you have the utmost respect from all that are old enough to remember this horrible war.
2 Para saw more action than any other unit on the Falklands and marched into Stanley which was fitting. They learnt valuable lessons at Goose Green and the casualty list thankfully got better as a result.
Jimmy, Again brilliant. Lots of civvi friends (no military connection) have been v moved, One e-mailed her entire contacts list! Keep getting hassled as to why I got away with so much blonde hair!
Hi jimmy, many thanks for posting your vid.Nice to see my old school mate, steve illingsworth on there.Didn't keep track of him after we left school until he was killed out there. Thanks again.Respects and Regards.jamie
Something funny going on here. This video previously had nearly 2000 viewings plus many positive comments. How come all of that has suddenly been erased?
Hi to all 2 para who have already viewed this video.
the reason all your good remarks have gone is,, i got information about Mark Fletchers age, as he was the one bloke who's age was missing, so i deleted the old vid and put an updated video.

The UK has 4 nuclear armed submarines each with 16 missiles, and each missile carrying up to 12 warheads.
These have a range of up to 12,000km and are accurate to within a metre, and the destructive power of each is the equivalent of eight Hiroshimas.

The British lost 255 combatants, less than the argies, who lost 326 + 323 on the Belgrano, which was a warship in a warzone and a legitimate target.
This was despite the British attacking defensive positions - and the name of every British loss is recorded and public - none remain hidden.
The UK confirms 10 harriers were lost (none in air combat) - 100 argie aircraft were lost.
The argentine performance was hopeless and you are utterly deluded with your lies and excuses.

kirkwanglers32 - Hi mate.

Something funny going on here. This video previously had nearly 2000 viewings plus many positive comments. How come all of that has suddenly been erased?

Hi to all 2 para who have already viewed this video.
the reason all your good remarks have gone is,, i got information about Mark Fletchers age, as he was the one bloke who's age was missing, so i deleted the old vid and put an updated video.
thank you again to all..
