  • Cypress Hill! Nice video.

  • <3 the music

  • Does everyone in Paris smoke? :-)

  • You using any kind of support, should brace, steady cam, monopod anything? is the IS working while shooting video? Can you upload in full HD i only have 320 option??

  • Why is your video in SD?

  • I wish you had uploaded in atleast 720p. It's hard to judge the quality at 360p.

I'm having some problems finding out the connection between shutterspeed and fps, when shooting with the 7D. Can you explain that to me?

  • Canon 7D 照相機拍的

  • what picture setting u used?

  • bananas!!! dope ass camera! i can't WAIT to get mine!

  • Cypress Hill, Nice, good video duder

  • Juliendemond > what editing software did you use? and how did you "put a 2:35 wide cache" on the image? thanks!

  • Great old school song!

  • How cool !!!!!

  • I have seen several short movies recorded with amazin Canon 7D and all of them look very interesting. Kinda short movies with a story. Beautiful

  • I love your video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So cool.

  • Welcome to Marlboro country.

    cough!

  • dope...can't wait until I cop this body and lens!

  • Hey fellas,

I just put online a new 7D video i made.

It's a music video this time more broadcast than my tests.

    Check this out.

    Cheers !

  • Looks real good, how did you apply 2:35 to it?

  • It's a wide screen cache plugin on finalcut ;-)

  • @juliendemond so basically it's cropped image isn't it?

  • hi can u tell me the iso settings? i've got a 7d, and in low light iz very noisy (similar to vhs... remember? :( ) thanx!!

  • WHHAATTT ?!?! The thing about those DSLR is the high low light sensibility and you have a VHS render ?! You certainly have a settings problem ;-)

I never go more than 1600 ISO wich is enough to film a light candle by the way.

Of course i have some lenses who open quiet wide. 2.8 and 1.4 aperure.

The sutter should be around 50 (in PAL).

1600 ISO, open 2.8 and sutter 50 you can film the moon lighting the earth. With very few noise.

Wich is just impossible with any camera on the market right now.

  • hi, thanx 4 ur answer... i have the 18-135mm (kit version) and it opens at 3.5 max... can i post you a screen shot? can u eventually tell me how i can do to post it? thank u very much

  • Great stuff :) I just got mine yesterday and still trying to find out the perfect settings for low light.

  • Sensational Movie

  • MUSIC????????

  • Cypress Hill - Black Sunday "When the Shit goes down"

  • Tangkiu.....

  • @frilink

"when the SHIP goes down..." ;-)

  • Tangkiu veri much

  • @i1photography 1080p

  • There is no Auto Focus in video mode on those DSLR.

    Old school hand focused ;-)

It's always better to work in full manual anyway when you shoot.

  • Nice! I thought the 7D didn't have 1080i, just 1080p and 720p.

  • @buzzterbrown there is no interlaced fields in 7d

  • Hi juliendemond, I really liked your video. I'm very excited because I'm getting very soon the 7D and the EF-S 17-55 lens. I would like to ask you if I may, what software did you use to edit your video. I know it is not only up to what software you have, but the editing you did is very good. Thanks

  • sorry I didn't see an earlier post where you answer the same question. thanks again

  • No problem ;-)

    Final cut addict !

  • Is it a Canon lens you used on this video ?

  • Yes it's a canon 17-55mm 1:2.8 IS lens.

  • Cool footage. Makes me want to go to Paris and that was all just natural lighting. That is crazy.

  • Il s'agit d'une grande .... Je devrais obtenir une prochainement. au revoir

  • I'd also like to add that the bokeh on the begging and ending of this video is quite amazing for a standard kit lens. I would only expect that quality on prime lenses... The cigaret lighting is also a great way to test the low light qualities of the cam!

  • Wow! The result is great indeed. I just ordered a 7D and the new 100mm macro L series with improved IS. I'm hoping to take great close ups of nature's smallest beauties. Did you have any experience shooting macro on the 7D?

  • Actually you can go on my profile, i've also posted a video test with a 60mm macro lens (with no stabilizer... it shakes with hand shots) ;-)

  • maybe the original was shot in HD, but this is playing back SD.

does this camera have a microphone line in and microphone volume control in the menu? thanks

  • The file i sent was in 640 x 480 MPEG-4.

So this not about HD or SD. It's of course a web format and compression. Except from vimeo where you can put files in 853 x 480 MPEG-4 wich is the bigest size you can put on a plateform like youtube, you won't ever see some real HD files on the web. It would be to heavy to read in streaming. And above that those plateforms compress the file themselves...

Anyway, you have a small microphone on the camera, no level control, and a mini jack entry ;-)

    Cheers

  • sweet, thanks.

and you can upload HD onto youtube, you just have to export it at HD resolution (1280x720 or higher) and use a compressor like H.264/Mpeg-4, but like you said, playing it back would depend on how fast your PC and internet connection is... there's already tons of HD on the web, check out my video "Infinity Dose @ Videodrome" in my profile and click the little HD and full screen buttons on the bottom right

  • Wow 1280x720 or higher on youtube ?!?!

I really didn't know that was possible. I'm gonna check it out right away ;-)

  • camera people love smokers haha. very nice video!

  • Just wondering... does the 7d actually shoot 1080i or is it 1080p? P.S. Sweet video!

  • Image dimension : 1920x1080

    Proportions : HDTV 1080i

    ;-)

  • 7d shoot 1080p

    cheers

  • I've been split over getting the 5D II or the 7D but I think this just swung it for me. Time to sell the 500D. Thanks for showing what this camera can do in the right hands, especially as now it's about to get into my wrong ones.

    amadeo

  • for myself, I'm just gonna purchas the 7D, it cost less and performs about the same, if not a little better than the 5D. Minus the full frame sensor, which is cool, the 7D has less rolling shutter, and two Digic processors instead of one, and has a higher bitrate.

I think Canon is coming out with a better camera next, it will be less effort to let this camera go for the upgrade.

  • I love European girls. The do themselves up less and the natural look is hot.

  • Great video!

  • Lotsa smokin. lovely footage. What kind of ISO and shutter speed were you shooting at on average?

  • Thank you guys for liking this ;-)

In thermes of ISO i was around 2000 and the shutter stayed at 30.

  • Wow! All you need is a scripted event and you got a movie contender. I can't wait to get this camera! And to think, I used to own a 3600 dollar sony video camera.

The bleach effect, what program did you get that with.

    Thanks!

  • That's exactly what i'm thinking now.... writing a script !

I used Final Cut pro 6 for the editing and the basic bleach is a plugin from Natress film effect v 2.5. But in the end, to give the film look it's just about de-interlace flicker filter the video (less video style), increase the contrasts play with the levels and most of all Desaturate your colors ;-)

  • Looks awesome!!! ... and whhhaaaat!!??? i haven't heard Cypress Hill in like forever ... hahahha NICE!!!

  • wow - that IS really makes a difference! Footage looks great :)

  • Thanks ;-)

Yeah you really can make an hand shot with no that much shakes which is just impossible with more than a 50mm lens with no stabilizer.
