  • Very good video, good summary. Love Syd Barrett...

  • You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom

  • Great video anyway ...

  • Great work, really, the music chosen suits it well... Just a detail, in the ending credits, you wrote (I quote:) "With the members of it: Syd barrett, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Rick." And you just fortgot David... It happens sometimes to forget to write something, but I wanted to add his name, David, if we consider the biographs, was a really close friend of Syd, so I think his name must be written on the credits too... Even if it isn't a official video... Sorry if I bothered

don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?

There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime."

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Great collection of photos!

  • You are welcome. Sorry for such wordiness. But I cain't h'ep it.

  • I just.... its hard to me to understand the importance of Syd. How someone that was just two year in the band was so everlasting important.... im not doing critic its just that i dotn understand... why HIM? whay someone so young, with so little time in a band cant be THAt important....he was just 24...please somebody tell me

  • Because he was an innovator. That is kind of hard to understand now. But back then, he tried some things that had never been tried. He was not a great guitarist but he started stuff. Plus, he was kind of genius.

  • His songs are unique; incomparable. He also started Pink Floyd on the road to becoming rock legends. Paraphrased -- There could have been no PF without Syd and no PF with Syd. For whatever reason, he was doomed. Burned out at a young age. But his memory stayed as inspiration for PF. He was more spiritual influence than anything -- maybe. But he stands on his own, too. Could be an acquired taste -- like good Scotch.

  • Why him? Because he wrote all of the material on their first album. He got the initial attention. For whatever reason -- many stories -- he could not or would not perform. He was either dropped or dropped the band. But it was his songs that first brought attention and credit to the band. He did not make it to the big time with PF. But he was the inspiration.

  • He also gave the band its name. It was originally a blues based band so he named it after two blues musicians.

  • So he was a kind of first breath? The original blow that made it possible ?

(its a curious phenomeno...thanks for asking me, sorry my english, but its not my language)

  • Yes, he was the first breath in a way. They all started together but Syd was the leader in the beginning because he wrote all the songs.

  • Hey that was a really nice tribute. We're lucky to all live in the same universe as this band. :)

  • cool, way cool great slide

  • Awsom... Beautiful... :)

  • Very beautifully made, thank you so much for this

  • pink floyd is :the dream ,the sensation, and the freedom...exuse my english the quebecois..

  • Well done. Too many people discount the actual legend.

  • A lovely tribute
