  • Can't wait until I can do this

  • @350dryfty Most countries have gliding clubs where you can do it, just go for it!

  • @chrisrobsoar I fly with narrogin gliding club in W.A. The closest hills are only flown at during a wave camp. he trouble is, I'm only on my A certificate and a C is needed for it.

  • Amazing

  • Yet again team DSGC's favourite film maker does us proud. Great shots of the ASH.

  • Bugger, my comments about the ground winch below are in the wrong order. Please read the lower one first and the middle one second for winch explanation.

  • :) Doing a great job putting these together! I may steal a few of your techniques... :)

  • I'm a little confused as to how you got in the air so quickly?! What was towing you?

  • @SMA380 its a ground based winch. I have used one at Corowa NSW. Just a huge engine on a winch that retracts a cable at astonishing speed. Corowa's is a V8, on an automatic car gearbox, through a diff onto a 6' winch. They gently take up the slack, then when the signal is given by the pilot they apply the power to the engine and those lightweight gliders take off like fast jets!

  • @SMA380 Its an awesome ride, at the top of the climb the pilot pulls a release lever and the cable detaches from the glider, the cable will fall back toward the winch (the winch operator keeps the engine running fast to wind in the cable), the parachute visible on the cable under Balleka's glider opens and keeps a little tension on it to allow it to spool onto the winch drum nicely, while Balleka (the lucky sod!) makes his own way toward destination fun!

  • Thanks you so much for your vids!!

  • Wow men... i love your gliding videos :)

Regards from Adolfo Gonzales Chaves - Argentina!

  • Damn, that's good stuff. Keep it coming.

  • Wow just awesome! I really wish I could get started with gliding!

  • awesome @ 3:12

  • amazing flying!

I hope that I can start with flying a glider this year or next year!:D

Really looking forward to it! thanks alot for sharing this footage!

  • Simply breath-taking

  • @MaralizeLegawana The long boxes are trailers that most private owners store their gliders in. They are also needed to go and retrieve your glider if you can't make it back to the club and have to land in a field. Go and join a gliding club its a great and relatively cheap way to fly. Good Luck, Matt

  • Wow, it's amazing how you did these video's!

  • That is not a Contour HD camera !

  • @ericthepilot Its got footage from my Sony HDR-SR12 mixed in with the Contour HD stuff

  • Very nice footage, great to see you flying every time!

  • Thanks for sharing, this is simply superb !
