there are probs legal reasons as to why they had to create their own images, and to create the movement needed... it doesn't make it any less meaningful. I see the importance of the pressure on males, but it is much greater for women, with the pressure coming from so many areas, not just from men, but from women too. A man can get away with being natural and healthy... but a woman would never been seen even acceptable as a woman if she does not do certain things, notably HAIR REMOVAL.
@gangstaGERAINT retouched but they show it and not lying about the "perfect beauty"... all they want just to open the young girls eyez.. Maybe those young boyz will see the truth one day... and stop taking away those girls self esteem.
@mjjmoa And what about men? They have so much to live up to, expectations of men and women are set too high in society. The problem is people concentrating on one gender, such as yourself.
No one in society will be helped if people like you hate one but love the other.
@mjjmoa So then why did yo only specify one gender getting hurt so badly by the other? If you don't hate anybody then why did you say that men 'take away girls self esteem'?
You do realise suicides and depression are higher in males than females?

I can certainly appreciate all of the hard work they had to put in to make us think that women are being assaulted by the horrible, horrible media, but wouldn't their point have been stronger in fact if they didn't have to work so hard to prove it?
Nice job Tim Piper, your a source of inspiration. I am a digital marketing intern at Unilever and do alot of film making on the side, love all your stuff, keep it up!
that was really amazing to watch! as I watched the "real" video, I had wondered how the poster shots were done, everything just.. fit together.. I love seeing "behind the scenes" things about videos and stuff. Very interesting, quite amazing! How long did it take for this video to be produced? Well done!!
@takeitandrun21 you just take steps closer to the frame and take a couple pictures. take the pic you want and zoom in, in conjunction with the original pics you took.
Thanks for posting this. It changed my understanding of the original: I'd seen it as a journalism-based social commentary, but it's really more of an art-based social commentary.
it was an amazing video really spoke to me and coming from someone who suffered bulima for years it made me feel good that this could help other girls out there

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!
I've watched the original video hundreds of times and always wanted to know how it was made.
As a graphic designer, videos like this are worth their virtual weight in gold.

kind of ironic that everything used within the video is retouched from the original images!
