  • this was the number 1 song the day i was born 7/21/86

  • The quality of this video is beyond horrible. It sounds like he's singing in a toilet bowl while it's flushing. There's also a turd in this toilet bowl.

  • I think the stupid music company pulled the original version of this video, be glad we've still got this one, even if it's not the best quality! Grrrr :-/

  • "Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe."

  • i remember listening to this song and having fond memories of being in Orlando FL. in the summer of '86.

  • @cineluminance Dude. Need stories. NOW.

  • in the description should be the lyrics

  • TUUUUUUBBBBES

  • It's an epic meditation on intangibility.

  • why it says genesis and ppl says it's phill collins??

  • @FreakyBoy503 Phill Collins was a member of Genesis.

  • I think it adds something to the song. I like the drainpipe remix version!

  • This Vid is so FUNNEY, And the song sounds HALLOW!

  • So...I was a fan when this song came out, and was much, much younger than the guys. Doing the math...in this video they were two years younger than I am now. ...That's just not right. *sulks*

  • @kamwrites I feel ya.

  • i saw a film clip of collins & his son getting an autographed football from walter payton, a real treasure.

  • my favorite song from 1986

  • I just love the fact that Phil is singing into 2 drum sticks throughout the video. . . .X-D

  • "pout baby pout...pout...c'mon baby give me all you got."

  • Genesis is so amazing...I miss the 80's

  • One of my favorite videos of the 80s

  • @davidlangzelli my second favorite song of the 80s

  • 8 stupid ppl

  • Why does it sound like someone is washing there hands while playing this? It feels like I'm listening to this in the bathroom.

  • There is nothing remastered about this song. Its been demastered! lol

  • @evg5000

    It's encoded in Dolby C(rap)

  • Is it just me or does he seem to be a really funny guy :)

  • While Invisible Touch might not live up to your lofty expectations of the band with Peter Gabriel, the songs from Abacab such as the title track and Home By The Sea were hardly "bubblegum crap". As for Peter Gabriel for the win, the band's music was much more accesible, and required much less acid being dropped, once he left the band. Record sales prove it. So, in truth, Peter Gabriel Ftw NOT!

  • Phil Collins is God!

  • 9 on mtv top 100 videos of 1986

  • i thought my speakers where messed up but the vieos adio is not right poor audio

  • @hamterwheel7490 Some of you complaining about the Audio, need an Upgrade on your Speaker System, mine is new and the sound is Perfect! Love Genesis God Bless the 80's Classics!

  • awesomness!

  • I find Tony Banks sexy. :D

  • Can't stand the idea of the mighty Genesis being remembered for this bubble gum crap... Peter Gabriel FTW

  • Hit #1 pop and rock, #3 AC in Billboard. How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • @DaveWollenberg It went to Number 1 or 2 if can remember.

  • I like Phil Collins .He's so talented, and he has a unique, somewhat sarcastic charm to him that makes him uber hot.:) He's sexy.

  • If anyone listen to the lyrics in the song I wonder what this song is about or who is he talking about.

  • @johnied8509 He may have someone specific in mind but it's really just about men going after and lusting after women they know are bad for them and will in the end hurt them but they do it anyway because there is just something about her(an invisisble touch).

  • good point

  • With James Cameron on guitar, ou cant go wrong :)

  • @STARBARTZZ interesting to note this was the very first(and only Genesis no.1...but by no means their first or last Top 40! And if memory serves me correct Peter Gabriel knocked them off the next week with his "Sledgehammer" Best yet, Rutherford's side band Mike @ The Mechanics still had songs on the charts and PC still had songs from his very popular "No Jacket Required" coming out of the woodwork!

  • I had to look up this video. I loved how the 3 clowned around here. Miss their camaraderie. I really don't know anything about Genesis up til 78(before Collins took over for lead, and it was just the Rutherford, Banks format, but loved how they became a stadium selling rock band afterwords(loved all their cassettes and it did themselves justice for the radio airwaves too, wracking up at least over an impressive 20 Top 40 hits)

  • lol its still a great video!

  • "she needs a hat bag dizzy bird top shed"

  • oh yeah, they've come a long way from Musical Box.. BArf. mind the sarcasm it's still Good 80's song but I will always miss when Peter Gabriel was the lead.

  • you have to do some thing about the sound

  • One of the best genesis videos Quite funny also the comment on the poor audio that happens actually to be part of the original video it wasn't a great recording it had alot of echo in my opinion

  • Why couldn't I have been born in the late 70's so I could see the 80s.

  • can i get a link to a good version of this video? i can't seem to find one and i love this video

  • Long live the 80's! I love both the song and the video. It's great to watch how much fun they had making this video, so natural. So many favorite songs from this decade, glad to have been a child of the 80's. Who would have know things would just be downhill from there on.

  • I agree I'm 30 but my folks listened to all that 80's stuff I love it...........midnight oil, pour some sugar on me, raise a little hell, we're not going to take it, men with hats I could go on forever have fun with those

  • This pivitol segement on 2:15 and 2:16 is very breathtaking. ;D

  • Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford were always good musicians.

  • BTW, the part at 2:31 where Mike rocks back and forth with Phil right behind him? Funny.

  • Poor audio quality, make sure to watch that.

  • GENESIS ROCKS!!!!!

  • yay rock on

  • GENESIS ROCKS SO HARD.... Love Phil Collins

  • Wow I forgot this song existed...Ah the memories... :)

  • Horrible audio quality...but love the video.

  • Why is this audio so terrible? Please repost this!

  • its been slowed down on purpose.

  • Such a great song (obviously bad audio here though as others have pointed out), but god that music video is just slimy. Phil Collins in his skullet groping with the rest of the band. Just wretched stuff.

  • "In his skullet"

Took me a second to "get it" but then LOLOLOLOL! Wretched indeed!

  • i heard that in the church its neat the preacher said take it in your hand its rose road church of god. and im still cute even if everybody wakes me up at midnight

  • If anybody out there in youtube land can produce/sing...I'm tryin to get a sample of this song...hit me up for more information

  • Amen to a good song.

  • The keyboard player looks like a young Dan Marino

  • thats cuz it is dan marino. he frequently filled in for genesis on keyboard in the 80s

  • Is it me, or does this 'copy' of the song sound like it's being heard thru a drainpipe?

  • yea..i no..lol

  • @dracosilv It's a side effect of overdoing the compression. It's the audio equivalent of the video artifacts, actually.

  • @dracosilv true

  • @dracosilv haha that's really fun dude made me rofl when i read it XD

  • you know come to think of it, i dont think ive ever done crack.

  • playful fun great song!

  • what year it was

  • 1986

  • Pure classic!!!

  • This video had a 10 million dollar budget and three weeks to record - NOT! Great video!

  • Oh man. That was so much fun they were all over the recording rigs. And that moment where Phil does a mok flash. This has to be one of the cuter Video shoots I have ever seen.

Thank you for sharing no matter how much people complain about the audio. Heck the Audi not being studio quality may be part of why the Label isn't appearing to take it down yet.

  • favorite Genisis song

  • make it a double!! this song rocks.

  • someone should tell phil that he's singing into a pair of drumsticks :o. Great tune!

  • they could be microphones.

  • Thanks for bringing this back!

  • Poor audio quality

  • I love this song this a good make-out song.

  • Lol @ Phil Collins rocking a mullet. Good song though, funny video

  • Great song

  • you can tell they had a lottta fun making

    this video.

  • I think their masterpiece was Just a Job To Do, but this is definately second to it.

  • The group's undisputed masterpiece.

    - Patrick Bateman

  • good song

  • this is one of the greatest songs i have ever heard, definitely in my top 3, behind other songs also by genesis, abacab, and no son of mine

  • When I think of Genesis, this song immediately comes to mind. It's probably my favorite song from one of my favorite bands,

  • That is to bad that not a lot of people rate or leave comments for this video

By the way I LOVE THIS SONG

  • Aside from the eco effect, a great video.
