  • @Mireneye the usual convention is based on revolutions not petals. A 4:1 in petals is actually what most ppl would call a 3:1 in revolutions

  • @quagitty I know this. The terms kind of just slipped my tounge.

  • beautiful ideas.....but i can't see anything!!

  • I say practice with a metronome, that's what I do. Also working on faster stalling helps tremendously as your range of timing options multiplies.

  • @leospoi Sounds like wise words. I would totally loose my interest if I used a metronome tho. Music has to feel alive to inspire movement for me.

I use "In the groove" dance songs that I play very often at the arcade so I know the bpms, the shifts and the speed of the rhythms.

  • This is very interesting - I'd like to speak to you about timing, for the past couple weeks I've been using ratios to describe third, quarter, and fifth time.

What do you mean by a 4:1 flower?

  • @Elemensce Say right hand would do 4 petals, the left hand would do 1 unit circle extension. The 4 petals would amount 16 points that fit into the rhythm. The extension would have 4 point that all fit into the music either just because it's steady; Or because it can highlight points in the music at the beginning of each new petal with the right hand for the quarter on which the left hand is within.

Do I have you on facebook or msn? Just add me on either place and we can chat. I'm also curious.
