Cap the ends of your practice staff off with some foam. I use the $3 pool noodles with a hole down the centre already, just cut a couple of bits off and squeeze them on the end of a dowl or pole, if they don't fit slit it wrap around and tape it up. You can whack yourself hard and it dosnt hurt or anyone else who might get in the way.
I am at about 1 week, and look forward to getting to your 3 week standard.... Its good that you have not edited out the bits where you drop it, as I am finding that I drop it a lot, and it shows us that we all have to go through this stage until it feels absolutely natural handling a spinning pole at such speeds, thanks for posting...
@CrustyBiker I've been doing it about a month now - I don't tend to drop the staff so much. Unfortunately, when I make mistakes, it tends to be hitting myself over the head. Which is bloody painful and looks seriously uncool >.<
@HexReinette Same as!! I been doing it about 4 months now , but I have to say I have stopped practising, its not that I've got bored just had other stuff to do.... It still doesn't feel like I'm spinning it as fast as this guy, I don't drop it much but as you say I hit myself quite often on my elbow with the metal pole I use instead of my fire staff (Staff i use just for when I want fire not for practice) I kills and I never learn from it, lol! same injury everytime I try to overspeed... :-)
hey do you do tutorials?

Liked the way you lifted the staff with your legs.

@CrustyBiker Yeah, me too >.< I'm kind of getting used to having massive bruises. Tends to be whenever I try to spin behind my back too fast.
