  • How about the fact that you are not a real doctor?...My sister is an optometrist...If you think that is a real doctor you are kidding yourself.

  • Fair and accurate. Great job, Raj and Lisa.

  • I want to study this in Holland... But where can you work? Only in a hospitale??

  • @SuperGeneralSurgeon, what a tool! Check out his profile. All he does is roam around making comments about optometry videos. At least I have a reason to do so. Looks like someone is a 1st year optho resident and gets a little grumpy from time to time. You probably can't even do a cover test at this point so why don't you step aside until you actually know something. Slap the balls out of your face and find something better to do with your time. I'm busy trying to keep people out of optometry.

  • this summer i'm getting laid alot

  • I want to date a female optometrist. I wonder if they always ask "what's better, this ... or this?" Huh huh huh huh.

  • i'm an optometry student from the philippines and i always tell my patients about the opticians being heroes and pertain to opticians as the miracle workers who has the forte in crafting their glasses. i always respect all the opticians out there. if it weren't for them, there won't be glasses for our patients. :)

  • disadvantage...you arent a real M.D doctor. My mom went into a heart arrythmia in her optometrists office and the "doctor" started crying and called 911..Optometrists are the medical version of mall cops..

  • @SuperGeneralsurgeon Well yeah they are not MD's, but they are still OD's...Doctors of OPTOMETRY. As for your mother's doctor with no balls or first aid training...well sorry to hear that.

  • I just graduated as an Optician in May, and have worked in the eyecare field for 3 1/2 years. I have herd from Optometrists that Opticians can easily make a more solid income due to the fact that we are a retail/Professional business. Of the years working, I have never once seen an Optometrist dispense a pair of glasses, the reason: They went to school to give exams, leaving the dirty work to Opticians, however, patients remember Opticians more then they do Optometrists for that 1 reason.

  • @6UNLEASHED Not true, my optometrist knows me by name and vice versa, my optician is who ever is working at lens crafter that day.

  • @rminb010204 I know all of my doctors names, and they know mine...however, when dealing with frame fitting, lens options and dispensing, that is the Job of an Optician

  • ظالمينا هيك

    والل شغلنا جدا رائع

  • another disadvantage is preswaying the patient not to get lasik surgery :P

  • Maybe I can become an optometrist

  • Thanks so much. The information is very helpful.

  • Optometry is one of the worst professions to go into now. Do not spend $150K on a degree that will likely not get you a job after graduation. Don't listen to all the hype about optometry, it's all put out by private OD schools looking to get your tuition $. You will NOT make enough money in optometry to justify the cost of the degree. Do not look at current successful ODs and think you can do the same! Optometry is a poor professional choice with a terrible return on investment for most.

  • @StayAwayFromAnOD

I'm from Scotland, my tuition is free. I'm looking at a massive salary, U Jelly?
