  • this is the first video of yours i have watched and i really like them lol! I like your process

  • YOu have a great routine but what I notice (and relook at your video) that you don't put the conditioner on your ends 1st, and maybe you should use a bit more on the end 3 inches or so down, while also applying it to the rest of your hair. YOur hair is gorgeous!

  • Ok, so how do you wash your hair after you detangle to keep it from tangling back up?

  • @Chynelle40 Hi! Thanks for watching! I wash my hair with the big twists. ;0)

  • hey i've did my big chop 2 years ago and my hair is bought sholder lenght right after braids.. ive never wore my hair out of micro braids in public cuz i think my hair is a mess sometimes. with everything you do making it easer to detangle my hair i think i will start wearing it just the way god gave it to me. thanks for all the tips you give out... please keep doing tip videos and showing what you do with your hair. also do you use the eco styler gel?

  • @sportyqt1415 Hi! Yes! You should definitely start wearing your hair out. Experiment with it and see what works for you. No..I've never tried Eco Styler Gel but I hear good things about it. The gel that I use is the Kinky Curly Custard and I love it!

  • Hello! Im a new subscriber to your channel. I have watched a few of your videos and I really enjoy them. part 1&2 of this series of yours really hit home with me. it seems that your and my hair types are very similar if not the same. I have used the mane and tail brand detangler and it works really well for me. I havent used it in a while, but I usually use the VO5 moisture milks conditioner to detangle. its inexpensive and it works for me.

  • I also have coarse thick hair and ironically have the same problem areas when detangling. The front and back are a breeze but the middle phaget about it!! Makes me want t cry. I'm going to try detangling b4 shampooing. Thanks so much for sharing and the wonderful tips!! I wish you were closer I definitely could use tips for my daughter and I's hair!!

  • This video is really ironic :) My first conditioner (transitioner) was Giovanni Smooth as Silk. Eventually, I got tired of the smell and went through a couple other conditioners that didn't work until I bought Moisture Maniac. I love it, my hair has never been softer. But it's expensive and I'm starting college in a month. Last night (before I saw any of your videos) I ordered the Oyin Conditioner. How awesome that I get to see these side by side, right??? Thanks for the wonderful videos.

  • Thank you so much for this video. I have coarse hair, and I have been trying to figure out how to effectively detangle my hair without a fight or snagging my hair. I will try to detangle my hair before shampooing.

  • beautiful hair...i have been watching u since my big chop last June and u r such an inspiration....I really cannot believe u were washing ur hair before u detangled..my hair is not that long but it is pure hell when i wash first..but I guess it's all about trial and error...keep up the good work!

  • Hi FreeWorship, you may want to try another shampoo other than Dr. Bronners. That stuff is harsh for a shampoo. Kimmaytube has a video where she tests the pH of that product: pH Balance test results Bonus Video. Check it out. She has a lot of good videos on the science of caring for natural hair. There are other good natural hair shampoos out there. Love your videos! You are a natural hair inspiration.

  • @TheElbernitaFan Thanks for the tip and the kind words! I'll check her out! ;0)

  • I tried this technique and it works. Thanks for the information.

  • Yes, the conditioners are working pretty good over the detangler but how did they work without the detangler? It may appear to some like you are detangling a little rough but with thick coarse hair like yours you have to do what you have to do. I'm pretty sure you know what's rough. Love your vids, keep'em coming!

  • @shayfarmr Hi Shay...Good question...I don't think the detangler or water was the issue...it was the simple fact that I cannot allow my hair to shrink as I use to as it causes it to tangle really bad. I'm sure these products will work great with just water.

  • i think your hair is beautiful. i love watching your videos. im only going into my 2nd month post BC and i was just thinking i want the length but now i have to figure out what to do with the length and im actually running on the last drops of my conditioners so im soo glad i watched this video! thanks for taking the time to make this video!

  • i really appreciate this video :) thank you!

  • Hey, have you tried to use a detangling creme rinse conditioner while shampooing in the shower to detangle after shampooing? And Kimmaytube did a wonderful videro on shampooing method that may help you with all that thick hair on you head. lol.

  • Hi Harmony, Love, love, love ur vids! Well, it looks like the Giovanni detangled much better than the others. I understand that Oyin is black-owned but it helps them with their research and development. I really like Oyin but based on what I observed, the Giovanni detangled your hair much, much faster than the others... Curious about Aubrey Organics. I use this one, as well as Giovanni Direct Leave--in. Have you consider Aubrey?

  • @Trumpesss Hi Thanks! No I've never heard of it. ;0)

  • Great video and very informative. I will definitely try this technique.

  • thank you for sharing.

  • I know! FYI, if people like want the Bed Head Moisture Maniac, Marshall's and TJ Maxx has a huge bottle for about $12! Thanks for the reviews.

  • Great video! I LOVE your hair. I also have the moisture maniac but never thought about using it to detangle. I just ordered the Oyin Handmade honey hemp as well and its due in tomorrow. I can't wait to try it!

  • i just gave my bedhead moisture maniac to my aunt. it just didn't cut it for me. the bottle wasn't even half way done.

  • Have you ever tried just applying a detangling conditioner BEFORE you wet your hair? That is how I attack my baby's waist length hair. I just put it in her hair, let it sit for 30-60 minutes, and rinse as I detangle in the shower! I add the Dr. Bronner's to EO Essentials Shampoo. It combats that "Stripped" feeling! Try adding it to a "sulfate/paraben" free shampoo like the EO or the David Baball Wildaid Hydrating shampoo. That is what works for my natural family. Be Blessed!

  • This is the only way for me. Detangling before washing my hair has been a hairsaver.

  • Good idea to use the detangler first. I will try that.

SN:I know this is complete off topic, but what do you use on underarms. They look so smooth and no discoloration. My underarms are discolored and scared from years of shaving.

  • @prettybrowneyescutie Hey girl...no problem...mine started to discolor to but now I use Venus Razors...they are expensive but worth it...also I shave it one direction and that's side ways way from my face...I don't shave down or in the opposite direction of how my hair grows. ;0) P.S. Also don't use a dull razor.

  • Thank you so much for this video! I am so glad I found your channel!! I just came to the realization that detangling on wet hair doesn't work for me either. I get more knots and my shed hair tangles up at the ends. Detangling on dry hair w/conditioner is so much easier for me because the shed hair doesn't get tangled up on my ends. I'm going to pick up that just for me detangler because it looks like it works really well with your hair. Thank again :)!

  • Hi Harmony! I have been focusing on all natural shampoos and conditioners lately, but I am interested in the neutrogena product that you were raving about. I have a recommendation though. The Tresemme Naturals line is awesome too! It has incredible slip. It's nice and thick and should work great for the pre-shampoo detangling method that you are using.

  • Thank you for doing these reviews. My hair is around the same length as yours, and I find that most recommended detangling conditioners don't work so well. At the moment I'm using the Herbal Essences conditioners, but I may try a couple of these as well.

I guess it may look like you are rough with your hair, but with all that length you must be doing something right - let people whine, and keep doing what you're doing ;)

  • maybe you should add more of the conditioner to your hair when detangling to make it easier to detangle

is neutrogena really that good, i mite have to try it

  • I love Your reaction when You use the Neutrogena. I've been hooked ever since You did Your product video.

  • very informative video girl thanks :)

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this, your hair is awesome. I love tigi bedheads MM, its also extremely moisturizing. Great vid!

  • Moisture maniac is my favorite conditioner. I call it hair crack. I even use it as a leave in and sometimes mix it with water to braid my hair up at night. I can't say enough about it. I also have oyin which I like, but nothing touches bed head to me.

  • i LOVE your videos!

see, my hair is coily and wavy but it does NOT lay down. never has, so i never make it try to. lol. honey hemp is LAST on my list of conditioners to try. i LOVE the Pumpkin Seed conditioner by Darcy's botanicals, but just in case.....

  • i thinks its the washing tooo..cause after i wash...its just ridiculous...so ill usually ddep condition real well after and then detangle...and when i detangle it is not soaking wet...it is really damp...

  • Just to let you know, some companies/retail stores are suing some hair care products. One of them happens to be Giovanni. They are suing them because Giovanni claims to be organic, but the product is not organic. I'm letting you know because you said Giovanni is organic. I hate it when companies lie about their products.

  • Hola Chica! you can get the BIG size Giovanni at marshall's / TjMaxx for 12.99...good video

  • Thank you very much for the video. Check out Kimmaytube channel concerning detangling. It helped me a great deal. Again, love your videos.

  • what are you shampooing with?

  • @blackbeautie09 nevermind, you answered it in the vid.

  • Thank you so much for this video! I love it when people use products that I've been wanting to try on their hair. So I can see the results that they have and then I know what possible options that are out there. When I'm in a rush or when it was colder, I used conditioner first to detangle. Now I do a remix of Kimmaytube and Telzeek (Teri LaFresh) detangling suggestions for my hair. It has saved me so much time, but I hope to continue to save time. Thanks again for all of your videos!

  • thank you so much for doing these vids mama! keep it up!!

  • those conditioners worked great on your hair!

  • @FreeWorshipFreeWors Did you shampoo before you started detangling in this video? Was your hair damp or soaking wet? Thank you in advance.

  • @lamariposaamorosa Pbi, refer to her part 1. She used a leave-in/detangling spray. You will see which one in her part 1 video with the same title.

  • Your vids have really kept it going for me! I think we're hair twins :-) I've found that the longer my hair gets, the simpler I need to make the maintenance. I currently do an EVOO/conditioner/honey DC for 45 mins to and hour, maybe secondary co-wash then detangle with Cantu leave in cream and twist with shea butter. That has been my regime for at least the last 4 months and it works wonders! I've also found that I have to mix conditioners, I can't use just one brand. Is that normal?

  • your hair is so thick.....thanks for a great tutorial.....

  • Lady, I had to laugh when you said," Oh my god she is gonna snatch a patch out of her hair". Too funny!! Great vid..

  • Great video! Your hair is so pretty. I do notice that as my natural hair is getting longer, I am working harder to wash and detangle it but I still want more length so I will continue to work harder! LOL

I TOTALLY agree, we do need to support more black owned businesses!

  • I spray my hair first and then add the HoneyHemp Conditioner and then place my hair in a plastic cap for 15-20 minutes, it is so much better to detangle. Try that if you get the chance.

  • woow i think this method works best for you and we"ve seen you go thru a LOT of trial and error! at this rate, you will be done detangling in half and hour, even less

your hair had grown SO MUCH! keep going what you are doing!

  • Your hair is lovely! So thick!!!
