It's because Zero didnt want yuki to get hurt! kaname on the othe hand erases yuki's memory, and he DOES NOT treat yuki as a treasure! Zero does!

Well Shonen Ai is more of a toned down boy love. Yaoi is pure boyXboy love. When people say that they are yaoi fans they usualy only mean Shonen Ai.
