  • Only Keith Richards can be cool smoking a cigarette, drink a beer and play a guitar at the same time!

  • a great moment

  • this was friggin' eh...I really felt this session....could you imagine being there at this time.....wow.....amen.....rolling stones.....and bless the black blues brothas.

  • Seems like it may have been El Mocambo in Toronto (favorite Stones haunt). Great Backups to Muddy. Saw him in Tucson in 74. A legend. Great post

  • Wild, just think if you were there to see Muddy ,and then walks in the Stones,at a little small club. Good Harp all the way

  • Who's playing the harp and who's the guitar players backing MW. What club is this?

  • hope all the guys and wimmens are just sittin down in heaven, the music comes from the skies, and they are chillin together forever.. I want to go there too, someday

  • My cousin and friends were at this show also on a night Plant and Page walked in and sat in.

  • Great video, Mick brings great energy, Keith jams, and Muddy is a legend, awesome!

  • Brilliant - gave me goosebumps

  • Thank goddess for the Rolling Stones! They helped so many others -- not just old Black legends but even Prince and Santana

  • Top of the mountain, and the view is awesome.

  • Keith and Muddy Waters with they're similar clothes, and then Mick's red sports shirt:))

  • so freaking cool.

  • How the hell can you "dislike" this? That's like complaining about oxygen...

  • @bustedup true, oh, so true.

  • If I could I would personaly thank the Stones a hundred times for the help and respect they gave Muddy.

  • WHAT ABOUT KEITH?

  • That's a tough spot to put Mick Jagger in. Muddy Water has a deep baritone, not Jagger's key at all.

  • The blues is what makes America great.

And you can't take my blues away.

  • All the Stones are there including Ian MacLagan, Bobby Keys and Ian Stewart who couldn't find a seat. Poor Stu, always left out. LOL.

  • The blues had a baby.. And they named it Rock'n'Roll

  • @MrToorude You know, that is the exact 'same thing' that "Elvis" said,SMILE!!!

  • this is life

  • Fucking bad ass!

  • all B.B get together and some reefer!!!!!!

  • Nós sentimos a sua presença,grande Muddy Waters.

  • whoa. this is neat :)

  • Don't miss the point, the Stones want to emulate old time blues jam sessions, they did this from time to time, trying to be their idols. Just jammin' with frien'...

  • Thanks for posting, I be greedy and want more

  • You guys HAVE to see cadillac records, tells an AMAZING story of how Muddy's career started and the first label he and the Stones were signed to

  • the Stones were not signed to Chess records they did record there and that was documented in the film..

  • oh ok, thanx for the info bro

  • CADILLAC RECORDS WAS A RETARTED MOVIE

  • @dontdodrugzz1 you are so wrong it gave blues a much larger audience.which you will agree it deserves

  • This was the big dream of the R.S., to someday be able to play with their idols.

  • I cant believe this hasn't got way more views

  • where´s clapton?

TEAMALEX it's a mario kart thing

  • he's not there

  • You'd think they could have got to their seats before Muddy started playing. Fucking disrespectful.

  • Muddy was the blues¡

  • really,watch it again

  • Yeah, watch it again (he does shake his hand).

Keith Richards *reveres* Muddy Waters. Keith is hardly a snob.

  • Keith and Muddy go way back and the Stones inc Keith did alot to get him through rough years by exposing him to the Stones audience.

  • Probably to HIGH to see it. Just a blur!!

  • is clapton there?

  • Yes

  • @Ainaisca Thankfully NO

  • Take me home...country roads...

  • damn Muddy Waters is legend

  • The only thing is. This vid isn,t long enough ! Its a clip of Rock n Roll history. The Blues gave us Rock, Rock gives us joy and makes our feet done boogie. Thanks Mr. Waters, I hope your in Blues Heaven and jus tapin, yer toes ta keep da beat .

  • now THAT´S what I called a JAM SESION BABY!!!!

  • Is that Dylan Walking off the stage at the very begining. Great Era for a mix of old timers and young bucks

  • No it'S not Dylan.

  • its Keith Richards for the R stones..

  • I love this song !!!

    fucking brilliant

  • Incredible...what a night that must have been! At first Mick looked like a deer in the headlights in the presence of The Master but gained confidence quickly. Keith, as always, personifies 'cool'. Thanks for posting!

  • How can you follow that. Awesome.

  • I would have given my left nut to be there that night. (wait a minute) I guess I was there?

  • Where was this show?

  • the rolling stones coverd muudy tunes for the first few years, but for the last say forty years the music they make is very much there own.britan was influenced by america no more than america was influeced by africa where all the original blues and many jazz musicians families came from.the blues side of the british invasion was a very original sound and the stones introduced it to the world and opened the doors for the yardbirds and all the rest.(beatles where not playing blues.

    RIP muddy

  • i feel you muddy you are damn cool mister...

  • Que Grandes!

  • Mick Jagger proves he just can't dance lol!....great vid thanks for posting.

  • :)

    true indeed

  • Great Video !!! Mick & Muddy & the crew do an awsome job!

I have seen the stones in a stadium and Muddy Waters in a blues club and it would have been cool to see them together.

  • WHERE WAS IT?

  • Muddy is awesome....I like Rolling Stones, but I dont know why Jager dont go on stage when Muddy called him...

  • If there isn't music like this in heaven, I'd rather go to hell!

  • Oh, don't worry, "heaven" and "blues" are synonymous!

  • You're right! "...gotta sing the blues.......

And you(we) know it don't come easy..."

  • According to Guitar and Bass Magazine issue No. 10 Vol 18 November 2007, This was filmed at Buddy Guy's Checkerboard Lounge (a former automobile repair shop) on November 22 1979. Muddy collapsed just two weeks later and was diagnosed with cancer dying later the next year. This song is the last time he was caught on film.

  • This was in 1981, the Stones were in Chicag for their Tattoo You tour. They dis soem songs with Muddy during this gig. Must be found on Youtube

  • well said burnside9!!

  • Hey moron,

If it wasn't for the likes of The Stones, Clapton etc a lot the blues masters would have died without a penny and perhaps in obscurity.

They may have been your R&B stars but only once the Brits told you about them.

When The Beatles landed in America the press asked who their influences were and they reeled off blues greats much to the ignorance of Americans

They focussed on the colour of the music not the colour of the skin like you ignorant racist bastards

  • Comment removed

  • When n where wuz this?

  • THE "MASTER" SURRONDED BY THE "COPY CATS"!!!I wonder what them ENGLISH SISSIES would've done with their lives if they hadn't seen OUR R&B STARS. GOD IS MICK GAY ACTING.

  • this is awesome.

    Thanks

  • Why is Stu arriving late, did he have to park the van ?

  • Yup :) Well someone's got to do it :)
