Hahira Pickin 2009

In 1982 I was a member of the band 'The Valley Grass' that won 1st place in the band competition there. I also won 1st place in the banjo competition the same year. I still have my trophy that reads "The Great Hahira Pick In 1982 - Best Banjo." I hate to hear this great annual event is ending.

It's sad to see such a great hometown event leave such a beautiful small town!! I enjoyed the last one, glad I was able to make it!!! The Great Hahira Pickin will be missed, and if moved somewhere else it just won't be the same!!
