Considering most peoples' understanding of the skill of punk musicians, these two are examples that talented musicianship and songwriting existed in the genre, and still does. As far as whether or not so-and-so was hot in any band, you're getting stuck on the wrong part of the music.

i disagree. you try staying 'hot' when you hit middle age, i think Kira's held it together. Stuff like this is great to see. The ingrained ageism in pop culture (especially music) is appalling; especially when you consider how many people these guys have affected with the music they are known for. Can only hope they are having fun, getting by and getting royalties!

Or, how about a woman in a band being thought of as a musician? Kira was one of the few women in the punk/hardcore scene who existed as an even quarter of a band, as opposed to "blank and the blanks."

Also, I've never heard anybody talk about what Greg Ginn looked or looks like.

Then again, people do talk about Rollins. . . but that's mostly in the context of "nice shorts."
