One of the more... eloquent, movies Ive seen in quite a while. Rather low key, with a simple storyline to follow, but instead of those facts holding it back or detracting from the experience, the movie used what it represented to its advantage in an almost classy way.
Upon reaching the spectacle of the two aliens followed by the abrupt separation of the love interest culminate with this score and the credits, I knew the Movie Industry still has some belated gems to offer.
Wow, had a great Sunday night in watching Monsters, and realised at the end it was the music that was quietly making the film. LOVED the scene at the end with the two Monsters, and the score just made it all that bit more poignant.

Also, this film always makes me feel sad about how we act to those creatures and the real "monsters" of the film.

And what was so profound about the ending? Seeing to Octoaliens in love? I didn't like the way it just suddenly ended, I think it would have been better and more realistic if the army guys shot them and burnt their bodies.

I don't like this kind of movies! but this one has nothing to do with that! that's why I also believe that has nothing to do with godzilla! it's a movie that metaphorically speaks about people!
I think one of the morals on this film was to express that no one likes being labeled as an outcast or for being persectued for being different. (Sorry to bring up an entirely different film) But it reminds me of district 9 of how they aliens were treated as "monsters" and were harmless. Makes me wonder how we could harm a species because of their weakness, but we forget that we could be the weaker ones afterall...

The two monsters that interact at the end prove that they are capable of co-existing and that the 'big wall' and all the armies will only make that transition more difficult.
Also at the end when the two are seperated you can hear the man in the humvee singing that Ride of the Valkyries song, just like the soldier in the opening video, on a rewatch you can see andrew dragging samantha away screaming for help before they are abandonned and blown up by the missile fired at the creature. I thought it was a good movie, it made the humans look like the real monsters, even though the aliens were 100 metres tall. A bit more of a realistic situation, aliens are just living creatures trying to survive, not just trying destroy as the common cliche in most other movies seems to represent.

With the landing of the probe these new lifeforms started to pop up everywhere. They are neutral to us as the men in the jungle stated, we dont mess with them they dont mess with us. Sadly, the US Ego (We Save Everyone) got in the way and made it a living hell for both sides. I like this movie because it displays US's way of thinking...we invade other countries and then run away and leave nothing but ruin behind us.
I develop a shiver each time I listen to this track. It travels down my back and then takes me into another place, where I feel comfortable and at peace.

This song is so emotional. It is done in such a subtle way it leaves this imprint in your mind. Gets your emotions flowing and in a way leaves you kind of empty and dreamy. It is phenomenal. Lots of people don't appreciate the film but it ranks as one of my favourite all time films.

Take it for the Relationship Road Drama set in a scifi atmosphere, and you may love it like i did.

"Candles," from earlier in same soundtrack, has the same basic theme as well.
