OMG!!! I saw the Broadway musical Sondheim on Sondheim last night and was delighted to see this clip of Miss Patti included. She received an ovation for that sustained note!!!! I hope she goes to see the show. Norm Lewis, Tom Wopat and Vanessa Williams are fantastic!

However, in my opinion (mind you, just mine)...she lost the entire meaning of the song in this performance by draining out the emotion and oversinging for the sake of showing off her (lovely...by no means am i saying she can't sing) voice. So therefore, I feel as though this interpretation misses the mark.
