Your never going to kill a Ford man, my dad's been trying since 2010. I think the truck would probebly die laughing because of your feather weight driving lol jk.
That ain't beating on it, beating on the 6L is pussy footin' around and not getting on it at all! Those trucks are made to be worked all the time. People have problems with them because they think that they are going to break but in reality you have to keep things moving right alone. That EGR needs to have a good flow at all times, if not it will just get plugged.
i seen a custom cummins in a magazine where the guy cut his bed and welded sort of slots in the bed where the exhaust came up from underthe bed on the outside and they looked nice but i bed it was REALLY expensive
yes but this is different, most people jsut cut a hole in the bed and run them thru there, these come on the outside of the bed but they were in slots that were cut and welded into the bed it looked really nice
@hager0820 well yes but not normal ones that jsut come up out the bed, theres were on the outside of the bed and he had cut rounded notches in the bed that the stacks fit into perfectly, i said that because someone was talking about putting stacks on the outside of their bed or something like that i cant remember lol
i can only beg you not to do that! put stacks in the bed man there isn't really no good looking way to do it outside the box..... alot of cummins guys do that and well i got nothin for it!
I haven't so far... I'm still debating it. I saw it done on a truck that had a contractors bed on it and it actually looked good. trick is getting a pipe that doesn't look like you have a coal stove in the bed. I can't stand those 8 inch stacks. looks about as gay as those mufflers on the ricers... Going the other way, a 2 inch pipe is gonna look lame as well. About a 4 inch seems to look okay. That's what my dump is, just kinda fits.
thats got to be a hell of a goose neck to take up that much room i got lots of room on my longbed not like my gooseneck will ever get that close to em anyway
Just the tow/haul light, I turned that on to get some braking... I really ought to shoot that again, now that she's been reprogrammed. Down right handful now, wet road, two hands.
the tow/haul mode on these trucks dont have the down shifting for brake help only the allison transmissions have that the only thing the the tow haul does is keeps it in a low gear for higher rpms when pulling and stuff
Not true. You hit the brakes hard enough with a load on the truck and it will drop a gear or two, depending on the load and the grade. May not handle it in the same method, but it definitely downshifts.
@kleetus92 These trucks have variable vane turbos so they can close the vanes down in the turbo putting back pressure on the engine like an exhaust brake therefore slowing the truck down. Its a nice feature to tow haul helps some but not too much.
Thanks, but she's nothing special really. Just an open 4 inch exhaust that dumps out in front of the passenger rear tire. It does get a little loud at the right speeds. Wish I had an 03 turbo. I want to put a single stack on it, on the outside of the bed so I can still use it to haul stuff.
Good, beat on it. That's how the 6.0L lasts.

Whats that light that came on?
linkthemain 1 year ago
@linkthemain tow haul indicator... pulls the overrunning clutch in for a bit of engine braking. Not as much as I'd like, but it does help some.

@mike12392 WRONG, my 6.0 with the torqueshift tranny downshifts like an Allison.
Blueford1979 2 years ago
yes but not as good as the allison but the torqueshift is a good tranny to
