  • sounds just like a slide guitar... bit u can do more stuff with it.. don;t need to use open tunning... is that it?

  • @Rafael849910 I use standard tuning most often when I play slide anyway, but it's a very different sound. Much less sustain, but you can do some very different things with it. I think it's just the way I'm playing in this video, and the amp being overdriven that make it seem more like a slide sound here than it really is.

  • @manzruin Well it sounds really cool anyway, congratz.... I've seen a guy using a metal fretboard.... maybe to improve the sustain ?

  • Seriously cool stuff dude...love the sound and the vibe.

  • Holy shit! That's awesome!

  • That's cool man, love it!

  • i dont like the sweep you do at the endings

  • Sounds a lot like Jack White from the White stripes. That's really cool dude.

  • what is your guitar tuned too?

  • @EpicFork

    Standard--EADGBE

  • @manzruin Dude this is awesome! Very Robert Johnson-esc! what guitar are you using?

  • Wishbass?

  • GUSTAVO from Big time rush LOL.

  • jiggabob likachow!

  • i like this...

  • Awesome

  • A fred flintstone axe

  • how you removed the frets?!

  • Just pulled them out with a fret puller, or you can use a fret cutter, they're about the same. I probably should've heated them first, but I didn't. Filled the cracks with epoxy.

  • @manzruin heated what sorry? the actual frets or the puller

  • @when2L

The recommended method is usually to heat the frets directly with a soldering iron first because they're often put in with glue.

  • you killed it!

  • is that a carl thompson?

  • great playing man! Check Antonio Forcione playing Indian Cafe with his fretless :-)

    Thanks and ..keep it up!

  • I didn't know the guy from mythbusters played guitar! wow!

  • I love the Wishnevsky guitar, how much did that run ya?

  • Cheap on ebay, but it had a lot of issues. It never worked as a fretted instrument.

  • @manzruin

lol, which is why most of their stuff is fretless anyways. good job tho. try tuning it to C-G-C-G-C-C. you can get some real interesting droning stuff, pretty awesome

  • WOW MAN!!!

  • i think for that kinda music you should play on a glass neck

  • I love the tone.

  • YEAH !!!

That's the blues from hell !

Give us more good blues sound like that !

    Greets from belgium

  • what an ugly guitar!

  • vicious guitar, dig the sound too.

  • nice guitar. where did you get it at? i've never seen the cutaways of a guitar get that long.

  • Look homemade to me...

    Interesting design, good sound.

  • almost reminds me of an iceman

  • Sounds killer man.

  • Word!.

  • You put a lot of stench into your sound ...its awesome

  • nice guitar

    love your bluse playing

  • Very much like Muddy Waters, awesome! \m/

  • that's a sweet looking guitar, and I don't even like blues that much but that was awesome.

  • You are my guitar god of the day! WHO'S THE GUITAR GOD NOW?

  • Great!

  • Is that guitar all home-made, or did you just mod someone elses work? I'd be interested in finding one, it looks pretty knarly!

  • god damn, I'd love to play that big bass drum behind you.

  • what a rare guitar

    great sound!!!

  • Looks like a wish bas cept it be a guitar :D

  • Nice tone, i dont like the whole slow bloom delay sound approach to the fretless. This could make for some nice rock/doom/sludge tones aswell :)

  • Hey Cletis, when ya'll get finished makin' that noise on the guit-fiddle, git out back and check the orl in yer mammy's car! Get along, now!

  • LOVE IT. Finally someone playing fretless without resorting to "Fernandez sustainers" and other lifeless, droning, eastern sounding hogwash.

  • wow that was dirty thumbs up to ya

  • haha looks like zac brown off of zac brown band, only if zac wore glasses lmao.. noce playing tho, its hard to play fretless, ive played one before and it aint easy

  • i was sceptical when i read 'one-chord blues' n heard the distortion but that was raw!

  • this is why i was gonna buy one of these cause i hate to use a slider, so this kinda gets me outta of that and sounds exactly the same lol.i can bust to the allman brothers my way lol

  • COOL - I play fretless bass since 1984 and fretless guitar since 2006. YOU PLAY GOOD, MAN!!! You're welcome on my site. Cheers, Actooon.

  • yes!!

  • i really like the finish, love the woodness :P

  • it can be very troublesom to tune a fretted guitar well enough for intervals to sound good everywhere on the fretboard. seems you always have to find a happy medium. having recently started learning upright bass and cello, i finally discovered the real freedom of not having frets on a FINGERboard. this video of yours sounds great--the difference in sound is huge to my ears. i love it, well done.

  • YOU ROCK

  • sweet

  • EXCELLENT!!

  • i don't see the point of a fretless guitar if you distort it

  • Whether clean or distorted, the main point is the freedom to intone notes any way you like, whether it's sliding to common notes, or microtonal playing. I also like the different sound it has, both clean and distorted.

  • I do: Fretless guitar sucks normally. Ha. This is the ONLY fretless guitar video on youtube that I wasn't cringing at.

  • you must not see the point of a lot of things. How does distortion affect the frets(or lack of frets) in any way? That doesn't make any sense.

  • i meant that fretless guitar usually is used clean since it has such a raw sound to it. i simply meant that its useless TO ME. not you. and you must not know any thing about how a guitar works anyway. with frets the sound is very crisp and precise and you can hear individual notes at similar levels. as with a fretless you can pull of a lot more when it comes to slides and harmonics. plus you don't have the buzz of the frets.

  • I don't need a lesson on guitars. Your comment was just stupid and you are an idiot. What's the point of any guitar if you distort it? I was just saying that it doesn't matter if it's fretless or not.

  • ok asswipe i simply meant that distortion sometimes distracts from the natural beauty of a fretless guitar. im done with this useless argument, you obviously are fucking retarded.

  • did you ever think that the distortion makes this the"only fretless guitar video you can watch"? that probably never crossed your mind

  • again, I'm done with this conversation so shut your fucking mouth.

  • your not my boss, dip shit. Why did you start this if you don't someone to finish it? Get out of the kitchen if you can't handle the heat, and stop replying if you don't want my opinion. I'm sure there is a seether video somewhere that is missing you

  • for one seether isnt the only band i listen to. the were just one of my favorites when i created this account and i never bothered changing anything. keep wasting your time if you want im not responding after this. fuck you.

  • *this is only a test* See. i can attack you for stupid shit too. i'm glad you've grown up.

  • Great job! You appear like you know how make music!

    Thumbs up! Five stars!

  • that sounds pretty kick ass. sounds more loose and relaxed without the gaps between notes.

  • it's the first video of a fretless guitar player where the guitarist can play... good job

  • the shape of the horns on the body makes it look like it came from hell . Pretty cool

  • Nice Wishbass guitar! I guess this come from the wishnevsky side of things.

  • It certainly looks like a Wish headstock and the body shape is almost crazy enough. Curious to know if it is a Wish

  • lol, you look like Billy Gibbons! Love the licks dude. It's in my Favs now

  • Lord have mercy look what the cat dun drug up. How are ya 'ol man? Playin' well I see.

  • great playing man!

  • What's the POD? The guitar is plugged into a small cheap tube amp, turned all the way up to make it distort.

  • Dude where did the beard go? Tell me you just folded it. Or stuffed it in your shirt. Tell me you didn't cut it!

BTW - Are you using the P.O.D. or something?

  • Nice playing! Very "attitude-y" and ballsy, very slide guitar sounding.

  • You rock man!

  • Mad skills!

  • Keep those frets out :)

    Nice video :)

    Great sound

    JJ
