Thanks for the tutorial...very well explained...could you have multiple jacks and use the same pedal to control different effects in different effects loops....say a chorus (LFO) and a delay (Tempo)...
@Do1 Because you're using a TRS cable, you have 3 conductors so the reference voltage comes into the pedal on the "ring" and the control voltage is fed back out of the expression pedal on the "tip." So, only a single 1/4" TRS jack is required
@RUSSELL826 Definitely, just look at the basic schematic from tech corner #1 and connect your input signal to the terminal marked "ring" and the output signal to the terminal marked "tip". Also, you'll want to omit the 1k resistor "R2" (replace it with a wire.)
could this expression pedal work on the Jim Dunlop Uni-Vibe? If so I got two busted Crybabys that I will convert. However one is a 595Q...what will I have to do extra to convert it?
@applexore Of course anything is possible. I'd suggest you do this as a diy project. A good place to start would be to look into arduino and see what kind of MIDI projects that others are doing with it. That is a popular platform with good support from the diy community.

And even still be a Wah in another loop?

This is great! Do you know if there is anyway to add an expression pedal to an MXR Carbon Copy? Thanks so much!

Awesome video! Would this expression pedal work on a line 6 m9 or m13?

Thanks for the video! Works like a champ. Ps, great Strymon pedals, too!

Hi there Terry/Strymon. Thanks for the great tutorial. Just one question though, why is there no output socket required?

hey man i was wondering how you would be able to turn that old cry baby into a volume pedal??? do you know hit me back

@RUSSELL826 input jack>volume pot>output jack

What type of pot did you use? 100k ohm?
corganb 1 year ago
@corganb oh I just rewatched and it is 100k. Thanks!
corganb 1 year ago
@corganb Yes, it's 100k which is what comes in a crybaby. However, the resistance of the pot is not super critical in this circuit.

One question. After doing this mod, would the new "Expression Pedal" be compatable with say, a DMC Ground Control Pro as a controller?
Seany2shirts 1 year ago
@Seany2shirts It would be compatible with any device that uses a standard TRS expression pedal.

Would you be able to build a midi foot controller board that has about 3 expression pedals?

now just show us how to put in an expression pedal in to any pedal, then we are set. :)

I actually winced at 3:52! This is a really neat idea. I am now considering trying it myself. Thanks for posting!
