So glad she had trouble putting that mic back on the stand at the end. It launched her into a scat section that may never have developed. Jack D dropping crazy bombs, Herbie & Christian strokin to the max, Chaka workin it! I agree re:vibrato & her choice of how to use it. It's a jazz sensibility that all best jazz singers have. A whole other level. Class, style, bash, sweetness!

as i watch the newer powerhouses who are comin up in the bizness i hav noticed that they use way too much vibrato. When chaka uses vibrato its like heaven for me. So many singers jus use it to sound louder. I think beyonce is one of em'. She keeps sayin tht all of a sudden shes found her power in her voice but to me its jus too much vibrato.
