On the other hand, to say Chris Botti's got no taste is f'n crazy.

Sure they're ok, at the end of the day everyone is free to interpret music their own way. However, claiming that "he ain't good enough" when CB's arguably among the best modern trumpeteers and then going on to say "let me show ya how it's done" sounds a bit too pompous, at least to me.

That last thing you said, I do agree with. Some do need to improve MUCH more than others though - especially if they are to live up to the *excellent* image they've created of their own selves.

Weirdly enough, sansemoticus seems to be one of the few (VERY few) people who are on your side here - and I'm not talking about this video, I'm talking about your "music" in general. A kind tip - perhaps you should concentrate on IMPROVING your playing and keep off YouTube until you do?

Chris Botti has struck gold here again - and it's not because of his playing, which is perfect as usual - it's because he's composed another wonderful contemporary remake and breathed new life in a classic tune.
