I'm usually critical of remix music, but this was done with taste. Thank you Chris and my girl Jill Scott for such a wonderful job. I can listen to this all day.
I know good jazz when I feel a small twinge in my chest. It's not painful, but you feel it nonetheless. It's the best reminder that jazz is meant to be felt, not heard.
To know that i've touched his presents makes me happy. (: My old volin teacher, wenstrom, is like TIGHT with the legit dude. Gah. My childhood memories.
...I do listen to this over & over again!...I have their live performance AND this track on loop!!! Every time a different experience...' Chicken Soup for the Soul' :o)
When it comes to true, true talent, one can say that Jill Scott has it. This is a song that was sung in "years of yesterday", brought into the light of "today", truly beautiful and such a delight to listen too.
It's so smooth. Like my morning shit after devouring a fort nights casserole. I can smell the spices and I can feel the warmth slide down my crack. Just like the Jazz slides out of Bottie and Scotts Jazziness. DIVINE.
I used to think he was just a pretty face, but he's damn good! Kenny G, please move over. Miles Davis would be proud. He belongs up there with all the greats. Well he is up there with all of them.
very smooth i know this sounds strange but i listen to this right before i workout lol, some guys listen to hardcore music to pump themselves up but me i like to relax and chill before i workout lol
-IM JUST LETTING U KNO THIS DUDE HAS SOME MAJOR TALENT I AM A TRUMPET PLAYER AND I TOOK ME OVER 3 MONTHS TO PLAY DECENT THIS GUY CAN HIT A HIGH C OFF DA CHART LIKE CRAZY..........I HAVE TO USE ALL OF MY BREATH TO DO THAT AND HIS LIPS A FIRM BY THE WAY ITS POSITIONED....ovesly hes had some years of practice...i've been a trumpet player for ...........4 months or so
i remembered da day i came home and said ''i no longer play da clarinet, i play da trumpet'' my aunt lossed it she loves chris botti i mean LOVES HIM SHE HAS OVER 3 PICS WIT HIM IN HER ROOM she taking me to his concert in da spring i love his music
Everyone's a critic. Just listen to this wonderful music. Think about those times when you were broken -hearted and this music and lyrics expresses that feeling so perfectly. Music can and should touch you.

Hey "4yawn5" its actually TOO smooth. You gotta have some chunks in there. This guy is gonna be good some day but he's got a few things to learn about taste.
Check out my band's new video "In Lieu Of Bessie" for a lesson on playing a jazz ballad properly. We always have just the right texture.
Yes, he actually does believe what he's saying. I've seen "number1trumpet's" videos and they are o.k. I don't listen to very much jazz but they seem to know what they're doing.
On the other hand, to say Chris Botti's got no taste is f'n crazy.
Sure they're ok, at the end of the day everyone is free to interpret music their own way. However, claiming that "he ain't good enough" when CB's arguably among the best modern trumpeteers and then going on to say "let me show ya how it's done" sounds a bit too pompous, at least to me.
Hey "ass-emoticus" stay out of this! Did I ask for your help? As for my comments below, I stand by what I said before. Yes Botti is good, but he's got room for improvement, like we all do.
That last thing you said, I do agree with. Some do need to improve MUCH more than others though - especially if they are to live up to the *excellent* image they've created of their own selves.
Weirdly enough, sansemoticus seems to be one of the few (VERY few) people who are on your side here - and I'm not talking about this video, I'm talking about your "music" in general. A kind tip - perhaps you should concentrate on IMPROVING your playing and keep off YouTube until you do?
And just for the record - believing what that fella is saying doesn't make his "excellent jazz music", played by the "number one trumpeteer" all that good either. Definitely not the stuff to be too pompous about, even if it comes from a non-musician.
Chris Botti has struck gold here again - and it's not because of his playing, which is perfect as usual - it's because he's composed another wonderful contemporary remake and breathed new life in a classic tune.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked my band's music at "number1trumpet". Yes, we have worked very hard and we play very good, but saying we are "perfect"? I wouldn't go that far.
Hey "1meaty1", you might also like our new videos here at "number1saxophone".
It's so sophisticated and smooth. I imagine myself in a local coffee shop, the lights dimmed low..and me..just smelling the rich aroma of coffee beans and feeling the warmth of a frothy cappuccino...mmmm sipping it in slowlyyyy, not just the coffee, but the golden assurance of a new morning...(sigh)
YEESSSS!!!!!! This is my kind of music, besides gospel......lol Even in my Gospel music, I incorporate some smooth-like jazz and Neo-Soul type chords just like this.... (taytaytay) This sounds like this is EXACTLY where you're supposed to be...hahaha
@taytaytaytay232 U said that!! :0) LOL I don't even drink coffee, I prefer tea! Definitely feel smoothed out when I listen to Chris. . .got my dad his DVD for Christmas. . .guess it's past time for me to do the same for myself! (sigh)
Russrog got it right. This is Masterfull! There should be comments like, Phenominal, Incredible, The Greatest, etc... This is one of the finest re-make pieces I've ever heard. The music arrangement is a classic throwback and Jill Scott??? My Lord. She is the best in the business right now. That's my opinion.
