Puzzle was still pretty epic - I think some songs on this album are a bit meh though. Bubbles and Born on a Horse are true biffy songs from this album

this + golden rule are the only stand-out tracks on the album. i was so psyched to hear the new album as well, after hearing golden rule + then reading articles where they had apparently said this album was going to be completey different from puzzle + heavier than it. hopes were dashed when i heard the captain for the first time, though thats alot heavier live, i really enjoyed seeing captain played live, but still dislike the album version. still undecided on the rest of the album.

the album is good, though:) a step up from puzzle, i rather like know your quarry on this one.

if you think about it, they've had the whole strings/heavy stuff goin on since 'The Vertigo Of Bliss', like in 'Now The Action Is On Fire!', do love their older stuff more tbf, i reckon this newer stuff is probly best appreciated live tho you're right!

Im not saying the bands are similar musically, but Muse get the same thing.

Im a huge fan and all i hear from people is "bring back the classics and have them record an album like that again"

this most likely will never happen in case of either bands. bands grow and shape themselves, and get better and better. being stuck in the past isnt going to really there career in my opinion.

@jamesagreen1 Amen to that. In my opinion Biffy had exhausted the style of the Beggars Banquet Albums, and I'm happy for them to forge ahead and write their own songs in their own style. Only Revolutions went gold within days of it's release, went platinum and got nominated for a Mercury Prize. You don't do that with a crap album.

i got excited when i heard cloud & bubbles with screaming, but its be softened out on the album we havent had any screamy Biff since 2004, like you said they could have at least 1 or 2 on the album since we didnt have any on Puzzle.

These are still brilliant songs im just desperate to get a bit of my old Biff back.
