For the record I listen to a lot of metal bands and while 7dust have their weaknesses in the eyes of music critics, they are my favourite for deepness of sound and lyrics. They're badass live too
cool dude. Has anyone told you on here yet that youre a raging homosexual? Maybe if one of those "tools" had a mega boner you would be more intrigued. Sorry. Bless your little heart :)
No not upset. Just amazed- that people as gay and douchetastic as you actually exist. I mean 32 years old and nothing better to do with your time? Bet you havent been laid in years...Shame...
well we know who the badass here is guitardbucket i mean you think your cool when you piss people off you write a comment saying look at all the fanboys i pissed off. really guitardbucket since your so cool tell me one band that is better than Sevendust and why are they better then we will see who the badass is
the guitar work kills these guys, not saying that These guys are bad but Kalmah easily kills them. The thing is, is that with a topic like music, you have to be open minded with it. staying centered around one genre or subgenre is retarded and makes anyone look like an ignorant fool. So people, stop getting on other fans just cuz of a band or genre they like, it removes all elements of self expression that music is really meant for so listen to what YOU LIKE
Kalmah is good instrumentally, but from a vocal standpoint - it's lj. the vocalist of kalmah screams one note the entire time. that gets old, regardless of being open minded of other genres.
@atomics338 I disagree about the guitar work. Clint Lowery is fucking amazing, so is John.
I'm not saying Kalmah aren't badass, they are in their own right. But nobodys killing Sevendust in my opinion; nobody. Maybe that's not your opinon and that's cool, but that's how I see it. I love the guitar work of these guys
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I've never heard of Sevendust until now. But I am going to have to give the award to Kalmah. Sevendust sounds way to commercialized and simple. Just my opinion
wow why do you keep on replying on every comment saying look at every fanboy i pissed off it is more amusing watch you reply to every comment saying something along the line of look at how many fanboys i pissed off i really don't care for you hate off sevendust thats not going to make me dislike sevendust and i think everybody should not linsin to this troll
I use the silver Pandora(PX4) at most of my gigs on the strip(Vegas) because they don't want you bringing your amp. It has a great bluesy tone that I have loved for years. My blue one got ripped :( The silver one is just as good. Not sure how it is as a DI for bass. It has a ton of cool bass tones as well. Anyone use it for that?
Ya it goes to the "INPUT" of the DI box straight to the PA. Most Bass players are not going to use it for fear of losing their tone onstage. It would take a little tweakin' but it's not impossible. And it weighs like 3 ounces....c'mon now!! :)
I believe John Connolly was originally a drummer (for Piece Dogs) and then joined sevendust as a rhythm guitarist. This video shows how much he has grown as a musician with the absence of Clint. Sir, you rock.
When I'm playing Scapegoat, for the verse I use a fuzz distortion with a heavy envelope effect layered over it. Sounds exactly like it if you tweak it just right.
I never realized how dope this song is! What a joke getting rid of Sonny, that guy was such a perfect fit for Sevendust! Tight Guitarist, good one Morgan!
what would u all call sevendusts first four records they were all amazing as hell, every cd they have ever done has been amazing and awesome in their own manner. I think clint is an awesome song writer and musician and he is the original sevendust member i love that he is back sonny mayo was also awesome and a great guitar player no regrets for ne thing that this band has or will do they are the greatest
obviously they knew what they were doing since they let clint back, clint stayed friends with most of the band since the day he left, they wanted their original sound back so they brought him back, i do feel very sorry for sonny though, that would be kick ass if they had 3 guitarists
lol nobody really knows, last i heard there was a possible SNOT reunion, but havent heard anything recently about that, it just seems shitty too that sonny is gone i mean look at his attitude during this vid, he seems so excited, i hope for the best with him, but now its back to business for the original 7D lol
I agree with you rohan, they shouldnt have let him back in, you dont walk out on your family when times get tough, and then come back crying, fuck him, let him sleep in the bed he made, but I still love sevendust!!
man u said that good, i liked clint backing vocals and stuff, but he made the music a lil softer at times, to me this is the hardest working not selling out band ever, sonny help them with the heavinest they were looking for i didn't like next as much as the other cd's but it was still good, but alpha and the new one r the shit, he just seemed like he loved this band so much, look at how happy he is i saw them in MIss. last summer he was the same way on the stage clint better not diss. me
While I do love Sonny, the truth is he didn't do much of the writing at all on the albums he was involved with. He added little tidbits here and there, but the primary writer of guitar riffs was John. When you hear that heavy, solid, rythymic Sevendust...that's John's writing. What gave Sevendust their distinct sound was Clint's amazing ability to overlap that with a lighter groove, which goes hand and hand perfectly w/ LJ's vocals.
Yes that's true, and I'm sure the next record will be unreal with the combination of John's immensely grown abilities, and Clint's ever present ability.
The POINT is people act as if Sonny was the reason Sevendust went back to their roots, and now that Clint has come back that they will go more "poppy"...which is so untrue. They went back to their roots because they had the ability to with their new label.
Bottom line...thank you Sonny! welcome back Clint!
it wasnt going back to their roots. how can you HONESTLY say that alpha resembles the first cd?! nothing sounds like that first CD, or even home!
it was a new, dryer, MUCH more rhythmic sound that absolutely just rocked at a concert. and if you play guitar, it gives your pickin' hand one helluva workout.
they have been expanding sonically all along, as they will w/ the next cd. and no one loves clint more than me. i just hope to see maturation in the same light as next & alpha brought.
They went back to their "roots" in the sense that they went heavy as hell again. I've even heard my man Morgan say it himself that he is so happy they "can now go back to their roots" Of course it doesnt sound like the first CD, but its back to heavy and aggressive. Of course Animosity and Seasons had their fair share of heavy on them, but not like this!
As a guitarist I definitely agree with you though man. I LOVE playing along to Alpha because John just brings so much cool rhythm to the table.
no its true man, i agree about the roots, just like you say
because that was my first point i argued on here was that sevendust returned to that dry aggressive mood that just gets me goin! im sure you agree haha
but its like a RE-root? you feel me?
dude if you ever can, hook up some videos of you playing some alpha, i'd love to see it.
:D
I met John right after that demo! nice fella!
Awesome tone and huge groovy riffing! \m/

sonny took this band in a whole different direction that suited the writing styles of them all,[especially] morgan and john.
as morgan said, clint wanted his musical voice heard, and 7dust wouldn't give him 5/5ths.
and thankfully when he left, that let out 3 UNREAL albums that will forever live as their best, cohesive, and hardest material to date.
it was a fun ride, i can only hope having clint back takes it back to the 'home' days.
