ahhh true on that. When does the game start? If its the 1600's then yes, natives would had been conquered in south America already. I heard that CA was featuring a map of almost all of the entire world. I've seen the campaign map in one of the interviews (Showed the entire Africa continent), looks gorgeous! The british had their navy, that is what gave them the edge. The british forces were slaughtered in land battles (most of the time), and yet even napoleon couldn't break the navy.
Britain conquered the entire world during those times... they attempted what the Roman Empire tried to do but they actually succeeded. Why? Because this new age gave them the advantage in defending there new stretched borders. They had a superior navy, and infantry force + infantry tactics. They also had superior navy, just not the numbers others had. They also recruited soldiers from the nations they conquered. Then one of the Queens gave back the world to there previous nations.
Why they gave it back is beyond me, probally because nobody wanted to be ruled by the British and had many riots and revolutionary wars and Britain couldn't deal with them all so they decided to just give in to there demands and give everybody back there nationalism, and indipendance.
Britain had superior Infantry, Tactics, Calvary, Artillery, and they were violent. Britains tactics made up for lack of numbers.

Well, historically muskets grew to become rifles, cannons became larger and longer, we may even see the use of gatling guns late game depending on how late of a time period the game progresses.
they have used the movies/ series of sharpe which was a series played during the napoleon conflict with wellignton, so if ya watched the series u know its gonna be brutal conflicts with cannon shells flying every where superb fencing (the fighting they do in this episode with rapeirs) and the brutal rifle fights, remember it aint WW2 u get 1 shot every 3 mins and can shoot at 80 yrds so round 3 shots then ya hand to hand
so yeah, i personally thought medieval II was the best game. I liked Rome, but i just felt that the Roman factions were automatically way better than the others, and it made it hard to play as other factions, whereas in M2:TW, the factions were all pretty much equal. My fav faction in M2 was Turkey, and Im looking forward to playing as the Ottomans in Empire.

Animations don't ask for a lot of processing power. All the Total War games ask for a good Processor and a good video card to handle the great number of polygons on the screen. And by how the games look like, we are gonna need lots of power :P

everyone has an opinion and mine is this game is going to ruin the total war franchise for me i really dont buy a total war game to c a bunch of guns cus if they used guns they wuldnt need o make huge armies just battalions of a hundred or so and like i stated b4 this game ruined the whole series for me wen i hear the name "total war" i imagine lots of sword wielding barbarian fanatics no a bunch of fruity brits on a boat with rapiers dueling each other

I know what you mean. I thought when they said empires that they would just expand it to the world. Like mix in Shogun Total War and Medieval. That would have been sweet.
I wanna see how they pull this one off though it might be pretty good. But I was sort of expectiong still swords and spears.

thank you for understanding ik many ppl out there could care less if its guns or spears but sum of us die hard fans will never "Really" move on to the more modern total wars and truthfully i believe if they go back (like they did with medieval 2) and expand on there previous games there franchise will grow as much as if they released a new game and i watch actually suprised they never made a greek total war they actually if u think about revolutionised tactics and warfare for the ancient....

...ancient times bc if it wusnt for many greek tacticians many ancient civilizetions wuld not have the same military outlook as we know of today and in my opinion itd be kool to have a historical battle of thermopolaye(sp)and marathon and hundreds of other milatary successes and then another idea would be "total war" the game no specific time periods u for example could pit roman legionaires against crusaders or templar knights(i think thatd be really really kool)

but think about it? the british empire would be very hard to control, i hope its like, different factions inside the british empire like rome total war, for example, in the Carribean its The West indian army (dont remember the name) and in america its another faction, same in India and so on...

No it wouldn't how would it work?
You wouldn't be able to do epic battles in the trenches and the campaign map would just be static

If this game uses the music from this video I don't think I'll ever leave the basement. When people ask what I did last night I'll say "Well I defeated the Prussian Empire after a long battle for Berlin, but the Turks have been acting up so I may have to send a few Battalions down to Hungary."

Animations don't ask for a lot of processing power. All the Total War games ask for a good Processor and a good video card to handle the great number of polygons on the screen. And by how the games look like, we are gonna need lots of power :P
