Everything revolves around rollerskating from having a nice skate down the street with the hero and company to having epic battles against other skaters who fight to be the best to rule the skys. Air Gear also centers around the quiche elements(fire,wind,earth,etc.) Air Gear gots action, ecchi, romance and tons of hilarious shit.

Just to say this out stright, the anime will always be different from the manga. Usussly the Manga is better than the Anime, but it really depends on which one you've seen first. For example if you hated the Anime you may like the Manga better and visa versa. But that is mostly speculation for in many cases the manga continues the story while the anime finishes somehow before the manga is over, but that could just because its easyer to translate what people are saying rather words on a page.

@avetheone1 haha, it starts out as a slice of life, but then turns into an all out sci-fi ogure madness(Ito ogure being the mangaka) with gandam, lasers, almost believable explanations of impossible physics and pure insanity, all made possible by motorized rollerskates. not that there's anything wrong with it, i love Air Gear but you still need a fair warning if this kinda stuff doesn't float your boat.

I love Air Gear to death but the anime was not as good as it could have been, mainly animation wise. Maybe if a different studio was in charge of the animation, like BONES or something. Also if it followed the manga a bit better at points. I like the manga better anyways, but I have to admit the anime's soundtrack is pretty cool. Whatever. Read the manga if you want to know what happens (it's some crazy/epic stuff). Or don't. I don't care. Just don't ask for another season. (It won't happen)

Maybe it's just me but to me it always seems like anime series end before manga series because it's just way too hard to explain all the extra stuff. Manga can devote chunks of pages towards explaining back stories while anime has to be able to do that within a maximum of 15 minutes or else people get annoyed because they want to return to the main story. So really just blame whoever it is that deems that all anime will be 30 mins long and not an hour.

Murder Princess' opening is called Hikari Sasuhou, and prett high up there in the list of my favorite anime openings. Air Gear is going totally downhill. The last TRULY enjoyable scene in the manga was the battle with "old" Sleeping Forest. That was fucking awesome. Recently, I'm actually having trouble following whats actually happening. Normally, I would just discredit myself as stupid, but I've found that others are in the same boat. All I know is that the Takeuchi's are evil and a bunch of people are fighting on a boat for Ikki's sister.

@boethiah12 Actually there were about 24 or so episodes and a couple of OAVs. They covered about 1/4 of the manga so they could easily make another 2 seasons. However, from memory they never did because it didn't get the ratings when it was first released so a second season was never greenlighted.
