  • Tlazohcamati Ollin Tezcatlipoca...

  • globalization effects not only the indigenous identity, but all humans on this planet. in india globalization has forced people to abandon their ways in order to survive. we survive by foolishly following eurocentric ideals. we followed the coyote, we followed our family, we followed the spaniards, we followed our gang, we accepted- materialism, greed, envy, hate, to form us. we abandoned our ancestors ways, we abandoned the poor peasants across this continent, we are oblivious to ourselves.

  • I read "Paletero" at my Brother's Funeral in 2002. He had just turned 17 and went to Rocky Point, MX with some so-called "friends". At some point during the night he was jumped, robbed, stabbed and left dying in the arms of a stranger as his 'friends" walked away. We drove to Rocky Point from Tucson, Arizona to bring him home. None of his "friends" came clean about what happened. -In loving memory of Chiquace Cuauhtli (6 Eagle) aka Frank Monares

  • Descanse en paz el Paletero

  • Tlazocamati, Olin.

  • this is great stuff! and very deep! i wish more people could see this... its time to stop the nonsense in our communities. gangs only bring our peple down, not only mexican all latinos..

  • @marioalosangeles I know you mean well Mario. That's why I let the comment in. But you need to know that Gangs don't affect LATINOS. They affect Mexicans, "Central Americans" and other Nican Tlaca (Indigenous persons). You don't see Spaniards or Argentinos or other white spanish speakers with the same problems or the same discrimination that we suffer. We are on our continent, our land. They are white supremacist colonialists. We and they are not one. Olin Tezcatlipoca

I think the blame is also on the rap/hip hop "culture".This is why I've stopped watching TV 3 years ago. That and the public schools are fucking useless.

I disagree with what you said though.I've seen white Mexicans in gangs too.But you're right on the discrimination part.

  • what a beautiful poem

    how sad

reminds me of a nice paletero i knew that got arrested

i never seen him after that sad day

  • so profound..thank you very much for sharing this wonderful poem

  • WOW ! very powerful and inspiring to say the least...I personally hope that one day humanity in General would change..as a matter of fact I do believe that mankind can change its evil ways !!! it also makes me very sad of the way things are going right now in Latin America in General !

thanks for sharing this video with me..............Alex.

  • Sweet as hell, the thing is, Im with my friends and they don't speak english. All of us got the poem, I was the only one that could keep following. Don't get me wrong. Thank You

  • Beautiful.

  • it is..

  • nice..

  • Good:)

  • beautiful poem!

  • one of the greatest poems from the Mexica Handbook .

  • Very sad. We were once a proud people with honor & respect & wealthy in our well being but now we are poor & being a Paletero who have been killed by our own people, we can stop this nonsense with Anahuac education.

Spread the word to even the most ignorant gang members on U-tube or on the streets & educate them on what & who we are as a people. This needs to end soon for the sake of our people & to the world.

  • powerful poem...very very inspiring.
