I was there, right on the embankment and there was music, RADIO 1 was there and they sync the music with the fireworks, ive been 4 times now to the london NYE fireworks and this was the best year yet!!! :) i advise anyone to go, it was good that they did it with music i think it made it even more spectacular!! :)
you think this is awesome? i lived on a mountain in hawaii where we dont have no real firework event like this but individuals get their own. below the mountain i lived was plains. we would countdown to the next year and when it came to zero alltogether the fireworks from all over the plains would come up. its the most awesome thing i ever saw. New york, london, paris all have their fireworks in 1 place.

@zoefr1 They had the speakers where we were watching, which was Waterloo Bridge (woah way too much w aliteration in a sentence). The music was actually on for about 2 hours before the display, and we were dancing along to the full set on the bridge. Many people there were tourists who came to London specifically for this, oh and for the sales too. All in all, a success for our economy!
@roborovskihamsters I thought we'd be able to hear it (another reason why I went!), but later found out it was only on the BBC's version NOT live : (, watched it, It looked and sounded even better, if you haven't seen it, go check it out! (it's the one with the millions of views!) Even though my video has more colours!
@OCUBOX I was there mate and you couldn't jsut hear it on TV, the music was being played through big speakers all over the embankment via radio 1 so don't bullshit! :)

I am happy to see that in this time of austerity, with all the cutbacks, job losses, reductions in services, increase in Vat etc etc, that the government and London can afford to burn hundreds of thousands of pounds for the benfit of putting on a free show.
